Hi! Welcome to Project DIY! I am Stephen Doudna the creator of Project DIY. Project DIY is a channel about home improvement, home repairs, house flipping, wood working, tool reviews and more! It is meant to help encourage those who would like to create, build, fix and restore things but haven't had the confidence to step out and do it! I am not a professional. I am a do-it-yourselfer and I love what I do! From wood working projects and concrete countertops, around-the-house projects to total house rehabs, I enjoy it all! I have found You Tube to be a valuable source of help, information and inspiration for almost all of the DIY projects I have taken on (and it's FREE!!) I created Project DIY as my way of doing my part and giving back in some way, be it ever so small. I sincerely hope that it inspires and motivates you to get out there and do it yourself or, if nothing else, entertains you! What if mine isn’t blinking at all at any time?
@@DanielMcCarley That is how I found mine. ( not blinking). Have you tried resetting it?
I love this little, powerful saw. The one problem I see with it for left handed people, is that the safety button is on the left side of the handle/grip and it's more difficult to press and hold both the safety and trigger at the same time with the left hand. It's very easily done with the right hand though
Look like the mini chainsaw is powerful, I need to buy one to my father for Christmas gift. I want to ask 2 questions before I purchase. 1. What is the maximum size of wood the chainsaw can cut? 2. How long a battery can last?
@@xiaoqichen-dq1ny Hi. It is a powerful little saw and very easy to use. It is possible to cut logs and branches larger than 6” in diameter. It’s possible to cut through a log up to 12” in diameter but I wouldn’t recommend it. The run time for the battery is roughly 1 hour under normal use. A 1.5 Ah (Amp-hour) battery should put out 1.5 Amps for 1 hour as I understand it. If you’re putting the saw under heavy load, it obviously won’t last as long . Unless your father is left handed, I think he will love this saw. A left handed person might have a harder time pressing and holding the safety and the trigger at the same time. Thanks for your questions!
Wow...nice cut. I ordered mine from Amazon on black Friday and got it on sale for $39.99 and got it yesterday. I am so glad I came across your video. I love how you explained everything step by step. As a woman who has never handle these types of tools I now feel comfortable setting mine up. You are a great teacher! Thank you!
Thank You! I think you'll love it. Remember to be careful not to run the chain into metal, rock or even the ground because it will dull the chain very quickly and you'll have to have it sharpened. Thanks for sharing!
@@DiyGuy50 Yes, I paid closed attention to that part and I will be very careful. My box did not bring the case you got but I am sure I can get one at Home Depot, mine is a bit different than yours, it does not have the little oil "tank". It's between this one and a Tietoc brand. There are too many to choose from, and I am overwhelmed as a woman trying to pick one out for her husband. Help
@@davaswafford3283 There are a lot of brands, but I think they are all pretty similar. I have only used this one (IMOUMLive) and the Saker 4” mini chainsaw. I have a review video on it on my RUclips channel, DIYGUY50. I prefer the IMOUMLIVE saw because it’s larger, has a brushless motor and comes with two 3amp-hour batteries, as well as as a case and two extra chains, and has a oil reservoir for the chain. I’m waiting on another 6 inch saw by VOZRO to review.
The IMOUM saw comes with two 3 ah batteries compared to two 2ah batteries that come with the Tietoc. 3ah batteries give you more cutting time between charges. Also, the cutting speed is faster with the IMOUM saw.
How much cutting time per Battery Charge ?
@@silicon-fx1ou about an hour and a half.

Where did you purchase your new window?
The new window is a Wincore window. I bought from Famous Supply, a local supplier. To find a supplier near you, go to www.wincorewindows.com
I definitely used too much foam. It’s hard to know when to stop and it kept expanding for a whole day.
Yes it is. The instructions tell you to fill the gap about 2/3 full, but that’s easier said than done. I always use the foam specifically made for windows and cut off the excess. Some recommend simply filling the gaps with fiberglass insulation which is fine as well.
I cant even get my status light to turn on no matter how many times I hit the ignite button while holding pilot down...I may have a different issue, maybe a bad igntitor box?
Yes. If your pilot doesn’t light, you’re either not getting a spark or gas and it must be another issue.
This worked perfectly for me. Thank you so much!
You’re welcome! Thanks for sharing!

Not fit dewalt circular saw, had to return, so embarrassing when returned
I’m sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, Kreg does not have a list of compatible saws. They do say that you must have at least a 6.5” blade and the saw base must have at least 5/8” free space on the front of it so the swinging arms of the sled can clamp down. Also says it doesn’t work on worm drive saws. Otherwise, it’s advertised to fit “almost all circular saws”.
On his FIRST try with ONE hand? Other videos say it takes DOZENS of attempts to get it lit.

You're supposed to look in the sight glass for the pilot to light. Once lit you don't need to hit the ignitor anymore. You continue to hold the pilot button down until the light starts to flash. Once it's flashing that means the thermocouple is warmed and the burner is ready to light.
@@joebojanic1905 That is correct. I heard the pilot light after the first press of the igniter. But, if you release the control button prematurely, the pilot goes out because the thermocouple hasn’t got hot. Thanks for sharing.

A new chain gets loose pretty fast and you need to tighten that nut often. I notice the nut wears against the plastic cover, taking away material. May not last long. I was thinking of adding a washer for the nut to wear against, yet there's nut much bolt to allow it. For chain lube , I use Greenworks Chain and Bar lube. Won't harm your trees or environment and does wash off with water for easy clean-up. Afterwards, you can use oil when stowing away to prevent rust.
