Hey there! So H is for the 'Haters' which is telling the AF you two do NOT want to be together. You can definitely change your intent code to A or B to be stationed together, just go to your MPF's to the Customer Support section (where they do CACs) and let them know. Once it's changed and matched, you will need to figure out who will apply for join spouse, as the 'follower' will have join spouse on their orders and the driver will not because the drive does not 'follow' their spouse versus the follower does

For her new duty station it does depend if she's going OCONUS or CONUS. If she's going OCONUS again, the DEROS is almost like a "contract" within itself so it's hard to leave before the DEROS itself unless you have a very good reason too. She will have to wait the 1 year minimum to PCS as that's the rules for us (reference AFI 36-2110). The AF likes to be more accommodating towards other branches when dealing with Join Spouse, she will most likely always follow you but it does depend on her AFSC/MOS. It sounds like there's a lot of variables that could happen in your situation. Please let me know if this helps or you need more clarification!

@@mango68116 it helped a lot. I’m interested in a little more clarification so I’ll provide a little more details. Her DEROS is August of 2024. I’m understanding that she has to wait at least a year to attempt to apply. So you’re saying that her DEROS is basically viewed as a “contract” for her current duty station which may force her to have to stay out where she is until her DEROS is up?

@@deesmitty0x Got it, you are correct DEROS fortunately and unfortunately is like a contract within its self, so it's hard to get out of unless you have a good reason to move. Since both of your DEROS is same year but 1 month apart it should be easier to get stationed together after the bases you're currently at now but unless her or you can prove to the respective branches of why you want to PCS to each other bases, you're unfortunately may have to spend that time apart

Being same AFSC will be easier as that does not play into factor, normally it goes by highest rank but say if your fiancé has been at their base for 1.5 years and you just got to your base, then they can come to you. You must do a minimum 1 year Time on Station (TIS) to be eligible to PCS

So it does depend on the situation, sometimes we have had trainees may say yes but then explain that the ticket or case was dismissed because *information*. What you may have to do it just almost over explain yourself in that section to say why there was a case in the first place then explain why it was dismissed by the judge. I hope that helps!

Hey there! So Join Spouse does normally go by highest rank first then by AFSC, you also do need to make sure who ever is the "follower" has minimum 1 time on station (TOS) as you need that to PCS. But if you both meet thr criteria, the follower will login into vMPF and go to self service actions, assignments, then click on Join Spouse Assignments. There is something you fill out there I highly recommend reaching out to your local MPF as well to assure they have room at either base for both of you to be stationed at together, and the MPF may have to submit a CMS Case to AFPC as well to start the application

Normally AF goes by higher rank then by AFSC, chances are normally high. ExampleGood/Bad Case is: 1 member can go to Randolph TX but not the other, the AF will try to find the closest base the other member can be stationed at. Case conclusion: You may have to drive up to a hour for work and live both half way in between the bases

That is correct, minimum she have to stay in Ramstein for 1 year due to time on Station (TIS). I would suggest you get married ASAP and get your follow on changed to Ramstein to join her, a DEROS is almost like a "unspoken" contract. There are ways to get out of it early but most of the time you have to serve your whole tour until your DEROS ends

Agree. I was at kunsan also 81 to 82. It was not an easy assignment but my most rewarding one. Yes folks at osan had more comfort than we did. I'm glad for the experience

As long as you are able to get stationed where he is, you can definitely get stationed with him! You need 1 year TOS to be qualified at a minimum to leave your current base, but you are allowed to still apply for join spouse and when you arrive to his OCONUS base. Have him extend his DEROS to yours

If you keep on them maybe a few months but he was forced to serve the rest of his DEROS from Germany so it did take over 5 months but that's only because he had a "contract to finish in Germany

Totally! You're still there for least 1.5 to 2 months for Personnel, I was stuck there for about 3 months and im so thankful for my parents sending me things from home!

Your 5 Level skill is almost a automatic given as long as you pass your CDCs (I recommend McMillian to study) or Blackboard (Have SrA or NCOs help you out with scenarios it may give you) and your OJT (On the Job Training, your NCOs will have others help you learn your job)

To test for E6, you must have E5 on of 2 years by the cut off date. Im still trying to find out what the cut off date is for Technical Sgt. E7s and above are no longer WASP tested but goes in front of a board of SNCOs now

Hey there! So some Tech School classes did get canceled, most likely to be delayed as we are making sure in full force to keep all our Trainees, students, and permanent party safe during these times. Ship dates are being delayed too but please get with your recruiter for more information when you ship

If it will be your first base, I personally do not as i personally felt like its a base to improve yourself after being in the AF for a couple of years. On top its a very high tempo, people leaving/arriving every day, and MOPP excerises. I should have a Pro/Con Video of my time in Korea, check it out! 😊

Rank usually shouldn't matter. Correct respect everyone as you should be respected, however; being a personnel personnelist we are the SME (Subject Matter Expert) in our jobs and how we advise our members. Trainees disrespect me all the time and it's something they learn in BMT, its the MTIs job to perform the correct actions to discipline them correctly. (Personally honest, I would rather work somewhere like Korea again where there are no dependents and only military. I felt like it was easier for me)

Ruby thank you for the reply!!☝️I am currently working in retentions and am making trainings on our process and the responsibilities of the css retentions technician as well as our ncoic. Right now we have three technicians and our cms cases our over 100 rn due to rejects in milpds/djms. What kind of system would you recommend to most efficiently juggle trs, cms cases and emails? Rn we are “cherry picking” so our superintendent will give us a list of names that he has been contacted about and we are supposed go complete the list in most “important” to least important and leaving other cases that are not from higher ranking and deployed members

I want to get to the point where the lists aren’t necessary we are able to keep our cms cases in the single digits and every case is being worked evenly and as fast as possible but these lists, cms cases and constant emails take up most of our time

@@Jmui7636 Wow, that's crazy for how many CMS cases you guys have. I assume you must be a CSS in a giant squadron where you're located. I remember being in Outbound Assignments and having high load of people constantly asking for orders, every system or checklist is going to be different for everyone Absolutely. I personally am a fan of using excel actually, making my list of names and check marking when going down and maybe speak to your NCOIC and put a few extra hours in to help you out in the long run. Unfortunately with CMS cases they're just so difficult to so especially when AFPC doesn't answer in a timely manner. Wherever you're located don't be afraid to ask your NCOIC or your Superintendent to see if you can get a hold of the correct function at AFPC to see if they will look at your CMS cases sooner
