Our NZ trip was rubbish. They lost and damaged my luggage for two day just for starters. The price of an internal was as much as a balcony on other lines. The mains especially the beef was second rate though the pastry chef is a god. Myself and other vets we were with were supposed to attend a ceremony at Napier but they decided not to stop there and offered no compensation. We could never get to see a movie with it booked out almost instantly. At Dunedin they wanted Au$300 to take a train trip that is normally NZ$74 at the RR station. The one off ship tour we did take was good though. Getting off it took 3 hours of waiting and when we did they lost my ladies luggage and it cost me $55 to get it back from some company they left it with when they found it.

We love the Haven. We have never been disappointed in the food, the service or any of the benefits.

Regarding the mini-suites, I only see one bed. We have 4 people. Does the sofa pull-out to make a bed or are their bunks for the 2 other people?

Is it true that there is _WHATEVER HAPPENS_ insurance which is much more expensive but its more reassuring if it's real?

I know it makes most sense to travel night b4 but u should be covered for losses by insurance companies iif there is delays. THAT'S WHY WE BUY INSURANCE

Oh, bringing kids, not babies, is wonderful but not on all cruise lines. You can take kids to La Vegas and they’ll find something to do but wouldn’t they get more out of Disney World? So they can see the world on a Disney cruise and enjoy it more than say being on Holland America. We take grandchildren on Disney and want to be by ourselves on Princess.

What is yellow sand? In Vancouver port. it looks like some kind of soil factory.

We went on a Western Caribbean cruise on Enchanted Princess and it was amazing! I loved it!

Will be on this ship for 14 days in the British Isles in less than 3 months. We're traveling with another couple...friends for years...and I'm sure we'll make our own best cruise, even if the ship is lacking in some areas. Thanks for your input.

Hello, can you tell me how strict is the dress code on formal nights? Is a nice shirt with a tie (but no jacket) OK? FAQ says "Tuxedo, dark suit or dinner jacket and slacks for men". Thanks!

Awful cabin- where is the sofa? Every cabin I've stayed in on 45 cruises on 7 cruise lines has a sofa/ couch ( 6 ft.)..and that curtained shower is also terrible...Princess is suppose to be a "premium" cruise line..I don't equate the word "premium" with curtained showers...where do you eat? Where do you put your stuff when you get in from a beach day or an excursion? I'm glad to see the Sun Princess has finally come into the 21st century..now all they need are King beds instead of Queen beds ( also like all other cruise lines except Disney..)..3 things I look for in a balcony cabin: King beds, glass enclosed showers, & a nice sofa couch ( NOT a loveseat!)...this would eliminate this cabin for me...

Are Princess points earned/comp’d at about the same value as other cruise lines… Carnival, Royal, Celebrity, etc… or is there 1 that stands out as less coin in per point?

I'll give you another lesson on princess cruises. Princess cruises employ their crew on slave labour rates. For example I was employed as a bar steward with other passenger safety/security duties, working at least 12 hours a day. For this work I was paid 50 dollars A MONTH and expected to make up a decent wage selling cocktails of which I recieved 15%. Keep in mind when you cruise next that the service crew are slaves and are paid slaves wages. I'm speaking from experience.

Agreed that Princess could improve some things but Lenora's "map" clearly states Haines is a port substitution. What that means is still not clear but should have been enough for anyone to investigate further. I think she just had assumed Skagway was a port and didn't really look at anything. Did she really think the President of the company was going to write her back? The biggest issue I have with booking Princess is that they will charge you extra to book a cabin in a location on a ship that is sold out. They tell you your cabin will be assigned there later but what they are really saying is room cabin will be somewhere other than that location you paid extra for. So why did you pay extra? Very misleading.

Thanks for the informative review. I'm looking at our next cruise and have never cruised with Princess before, only PandO. You say there are queues for bar service. I just wondered why people are queuing up for drinks when apparently the medallion class app allows you to order drinks to be served directly to you wherever you are on the ship. P and O service is excellent as you never have to approach a bar or join a queue as it is 100% waiter service. Thanks.

I am disappointed with the balcony room size and all the horrible reviews of this ship. I am not looking to this cruise I just booked.

Sunday is the worst day, we get up to 16,000 passengers coming/going, most Sundays throughout the season. Grayline's baggage storage is not near the entrance to the terminal to my recollection, it's near the end. If you exit the terminal and decide to check your bag with them for the day, it's a long trek back.There are several independent baggage storage companies in the area that are substantially cheaper, also the Pan Pacific hotel will take bags and is more accessible to the city, and cheaper. If you're keen on shopping, MacArthur Glen mall (two stops from the airport) offers free baggage storage, and transit to/from the airport is less than 5 minutes.

Our last cruise was aboard the Sky Princess from 10-17 February 2024. We enjoy gambling and, as such, we again received a voucher under our Statement Room door with an opportunity to take other future cruises i.e. free Balcony Room and free casino credits. Based on the cruise dates, we decided against accepting any of the cruises offered. When we're home in Ottawa, Canada, we receive a host of email and mail offers for future cruises. All provide us with a free Interior room plus casino credits. However, all indicate that I receive the most casino credits while my wife gets one-sixth the amount i.e.. $300 for me, and $50 for her. Why is it that I always get the majority casino credit offers from all emails or mail instead of my wife even though I gamble much less than her? I would certainly like an answer to this question. Thoughts?

Have cruised out of Vancouver several times, have seen all levels of lines. Worst line wrapped outside around the pier. Best was a couple weeks ago when we went pretty much straight through. Coming from Seattle, we always take Amtrak to Vancouver, then the Sky Train to the pier. Very easy.

Hello, can you please elaborate on princess WiFi costs on board. It seems to be a little confusing! What if im not doing princess premier or plus… is it 24.99 per person per day? And can i get 1/2 off since im elite (they’ll just deduct it from my acct)? Does anyone know how this works? Appreciate it!

I'm so confused with the balcony cabin classifications. We sailed twice on the Enchanted Princess with a deluxe balcony both times. First cruise we were in cabin D701. It had a large balcony with lots of room, and was twice the size of the one on our second cruise in cabin R201. What gives?

I need a normal sized bed. I could never share a room again. A week solo in a suite ranges 6-12 k for a week in the Caribbean!

It is an old ship and it shows. They need to scrap it. Our cabin was mediocre. No water pressure in the shower and no conditioner and shampoo was very drying to my hair. The bed was terrible. Also we left an additional tip for our cabin attendant and not once did she change our towels. As soon as we approached the piazza the smell of smoke was overwhelming. People were smoking in the casino everywhere so the smoke drifted out into the piazza. The crew was very friendly and good. The food in the buffet was cold and not very good.

Was on Majestic last week and respectfully disagree with the negative comments as I did not experience any of that. It was easy to know which side your cabin was on - blue carpet on the port side, Red carpet on the starboard side. Embarkation/disembarkation very smooth. Food was delicious, Reservations for main dining rooms made for easy access without a wait. Had a fabulous time and would definitely do this cruise again.

Not sure what else you were expecting the parents to do. I can think of a lot worse than what was said and a closed door. If you think it's bad for you, how do you think the parents feel in the room. Don't think your knock on the door helps the situation at all. Maybe an adult only cruise would serve you best going forward!
