    back in the 80s sub 20 was considered practically unachievable. From my knowledge people did get sub 20 solves but that was considered the limit and only lucky cases. Now getting sub 4 ao5s is starting to become a thing while averaging sub 5.

      I'm assuming you mean with the title of GOAT, and this is a tricky question since they are from different times of speedcubing, and you have to account for various factors. There is the factor that there are more cubers now than in Feliks' time. Also, we are approaching the human limit for these events. As that happens, it gets harder to get WRs, so while Feliks has more WRs than Max, it doesn't necessarily mean that Felik's is so much better than Max. Still, getting so many WRs as more competitors come and as we approach the human limit of speedcubing is more challenging. You can see that with people like Tymon and Yiheng, who both have 8 WRs, even though they are so good, it is evidently getting more challenging to get so many WRs. Then you have the longevity of them being at the top, and both of them at their respective times have been at the top for about 10 years; I think Max really has only been about 7 years, but he is inherently still dominant in 4-7, so we really don't know if he will maintain his dominance over the next few years. With all of that in consideration, it is hard to say the dividing line of who the GOAT of speedcubing is, so it is hard to tell if Max will surpass Feliks. However, if Max does something like getting 121 WRs when it is harder to get that many WRs, that may be the deciding factor. With all of their accomplishments right now, Max and Feliks share the title of GOAT. This opinion is highly subjective, and I think many people will disagree with me because there isn't an accurate way to say that one was better than the other when they are in inherently different eras of speedcubing.

    • @inseminggd
      @inseminggd 3 месяца назад

      This is an interesting question, but it pretty much has no clear answer The main argument in favor of max is that cubing is a lot more competitive now, meaning that dominance back when feliks was the goat was easier than right now. My counter for that is that because of less competition there were also less sources for algorithms and general knowledge, meaning feliks and all other cubers at the time had it way harder to actually improve because there just was less info. Now does that mean it completely counters for the competition? Well it depends on who you ask that to, but i personally think not, but its close enough that cubing being more competitive isnt that crystal clear of an argument But theres also something to consider that makes it a lot different, which is 3x3. Max never really dominated 3x3, yes he has wr single and competed with tymon for wr average for a bit, but thats about it. In 2024 tymon is, in my opinion, ahead of him, and yiheng beat his pr average by almost 0,8 seconds, which in this day and age is a massive leap. So pretty much the only thing he was dominant at was big cubes, and hes damn good at it, but feliks was arguably dominant in big cubes, 3x3 and oh, and these last two are so insanely competitive (especially 3x3) that even on earlier times, these alone are almost able to outweigh maxs current dominance on big cubes, so right now i think feliks is still the ultimate goat However, maxs dominance on big cubes (especially 6-7) is nothing short of impressive, so if he keeps it for like 5-10 years, or alternatively be contender for wr average on 3x3 again (and keep it up for like 2-3 years), he could potentially surpass feliks as being the goat

    There is so many things wrong with this video. A fair amount of the information is outright wrong, and singeling out Edward Hollingdale at the end is completely unncesairy. I suggest you take this down, as this just seems like a cheap attempt at misinforming the community while baiting some clicks. No disrespect, I am just very much against clickbait, especially when you are misinforming, and especially when you are launching some personal attacks like you did.

    • @TotalSpeedcubingProductions
      @TotalSpeedcubingProductions 4 месяца назад

      What information is outright wrong ? We are in the right to inform the community about a serious issue for the future of the discipline especially when there is so much questioning about sliding itself. Edward Hollingdale is currently officially the person at the top of the WCA hierarchy. He, as a result, is responsible and must be held accountable for all activities of all the different committees. This is in no way a personal attack on him but rather on the organization he is in charge of and represents.

    • @antoniepaterakis7315
      @antoniepaterakis7315 4 месяца назад

      Some remakrs you made that are incorrect include, but are not limited too. - Presenting the preferential treatment as if it is a fact - Not presenting the nuances between people that have slid recently - Claims with absolute no basis You have every right to inform people. But you are incorrectly informing people. Which is the opposite of what you supposedly are trying to achieve. Also, just to show your pure ignoranec. I delibirately said the name of the person in the picture incorrectly. That is not edward hollingdale, that is Ethan Pride. Which just shows to me the little research you have done on this. He is the top of the WCA hierarchy, yes, but he is not responsible, and he can't and should not be held accountable for any actions the other committees make, that is just a foolish claim. Lastly, you are saying it is not a personal attack, yet you have his face on the entire screen. If you really want to make a quality informative video, without throwing personal attacks, I would suggest to take this video down, do some more research, and then remake the video. Because anyone that has the slight bit of knowledge on the whole sliding situation can tell that research is something you did not do, and anyone that does not know about the sliding situation is being outright misinformed by you.

    • @TotalSpeedcubingProductions
      @TotalSpeedcubingProductions 4 месяца назад

      We can tell that you do not enjoy the way we have portrayed current events on a topic that matters a lot of for you. No facts are incorrect in this video although this is what you stated. You have the right to not agree with the way we framed Yiheng’s treatment or other events in the videos but again we have the right to provide our perspective on the matter. Indeed that is Ethan Pride, why did you mistakenly use Edward Hollindgale’s name in your first comment ? We understand that as avid 2x2 fan and competitor you might not agree with all the choices made in this video. However, you are not the target audience for this type of content. We suggest you focus on competitive speedcubing as your understanding of online content creation appears to be limited.
