KSP: Launching with a Deployed chute... on Eve
Here's another Reddit Challenge... this time Staging Mishap:
www.reddit.com/r/KerbalSpaceProgram/comments/4wfclx/weekly_challenge_revisited_week_4_staging_mishap/
The basic challenge, launch from Kerbin with a parachute on your nose in the first stage... keep the chute on until space, and reach orbit. I switched it up a bit by doing it on Eve instead.
The game is Kerbal Space Program, available on Steam
Music:
Concerto No. 1 in E major, Op. 8, RV 269, "La primavera" (Spring) - Movement 3: Allegro
from The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi
Wiedemann Recital Hall, Wichita State University
John Harrison - Violin / Robert Turizziani - Conductor / Wichita State University Chamber Players

KSP: A Manned "Surface" Return from Jool
Просмотров 108 тыс.9 лет назад
A mere 8 months after recording, I finally present a Kerbal going down to the "Surface" (In this case 2.5km) of Jool, and returning home to tell of it. The Joolbeast IV (Main Craft in the vid): www.dropbox.com/s/rpb4si0obg0w4f4/Joolbeast IV.craft?dl=0 The Refueller: www.dropbox.com/s/mzwc3ik3tmchaqx/Ultrafueler IV.craft?dl=0 (Has trouble launching in 0.90 due to decoupler force issues) The Jool...
KSP: To the Mun for Cheap (5201 Funds)
Просмотров 15 тыс.10 лет назад
After my previous videos, going to Mun with only 3 parts (ruclips.net/video/Vr_dgcX4L3w/видео.html), and going to the Mun with a craft weighing under 2 tons (ruclips.net/video/dkf1sardefk/видео.html)... I decided to try and go to the Mun as cheaply as possible. My craft ended up costing 5201 Funds. You may be able to make a cheaper craft, but the best ways I could find were using a command seat...
KSP: Eve Dual-Stage-To-Orbit
Просмотров 3,3 тыс.10 лет назад
Responding to a forum challenge, I've made a craft that can launch from Eve and attain orbit with only 2 stages. Sadly an SSTO is impossible without cheating. Original forum challenge: forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/96879-Eve-DSTO-Challenge Craft File: www.dropbox.com/s/9cnm3dnskdxu3wv/Eveblaster VII.craft?dl=0 All of this was done in the fantastic game Kerbal Space Program, if you don't ...

I show how control surfaces can be used as a form of anti-gravity, discuss why this makes them cheaty as wings, and then abuse this to make an all stock zeppelin. KSP: Scott Manley's 70k Challenge - Maximum Cheese (1:30)
Просмотров 7 тыс.10 лет назад
After my previous attempt (ruclips.net/video/F3YXyarfauY/видео.html) to complete Scott Manley's 70k challenge (ruclips.net/video/c5isdu6Qt5c/видео.html) I had a decent time of 2:02, but that wasn't good enough... So this time I made a much bigger ship, clocking in at almost 1000 parts. I was able to score a time of 1:30 even (one could probably argue 1:29). Ironically, seeing as the beast made ...
KSP: Scott Manley's 70km Challenge (2:02)
Просмотров 3,8 тыс.10 лет назад
Well, Scott has posed a challenge (ruclips.net/video/c5isdu6Qt5c/видео.html) to do the shortest possible space mission, i.e. get to Space (70km) and back to the ground in the shortest possible time. Here's my entry, clocking in at 2:02... I think with slightly better flying you could shave it down under 2 minutes with this ship, but after 60 or so attempts, I was ready to call it a night. This ...
KSP: To the Mun and Back Using Only 3 Parts
Просмотров 212 тыс.10 лет назад
After Scott Manley's wonderful video going to Minmus and back with only 3 parts (ruclips.net/video/nb07gxjLq_k/видео.html), I got to wondering, was it possible to do the Mun and Back with only 3 parts. I decided that it was, and proceeded to try and figure out how the heck to do it, what you see here is the result. No craft files this time... you really shouldn't need them :) This was recorded ...
KSP: To the Mun in under 2 tons

My take on what Kerbals do for Extreme sports... in order from mundane to insane. This was all done in stock Kerbal Space Program, v0.23.5, no mods or cheat menu. And for the attempts shown the Kerbals all survived. Stay tuned for the fail compilation video showing a lot of the ones that didn't. KSP: Evolution of the Electric Helicopter
This entire time I'd been flying my ship out of kerbin, and intercepting the asteroid mid-sun-orbit. I'm also really not super great at rocket design yet, but your video has given me some precious desperately-needed insight on some new strategies I can try out, to get a Class D asteroid into orbit. Goes to show, even a 10 year old video can be pretty useful.
Matt!!!! COME BACK😢😢😢😢😢😢. IM CRYING😢😢😢
I really wanted to come back with KSP 2 content at some point. But it never got to the point of being good enough that I felt like it. Maybe I'll try modding up KSP 1 and try again... or maybe some other game.
@@Tsevion.7 ok
Please return😢
HoDeok also made to Eve and back TWICE
Happy 2.34K! Sad that you're absent
Wow its flying like a bird!
thats soo cool
I'm a bit late to the party but this is a work of art!
I laughed so loud when you just flew home with the jetpack 🤣
Thsi is old
the music suites perfectly when i realised 2014 was 8 years ago....
you could also have spared the parachute and used the pilot's EVA chute; also, removing some fuel so that you have barely enough could save some more money.
How dare you make it non aerodynamic
Rip this channel
See you an other billion years :D
Hello from the future, I want to go back
Good job! Your rocket has been used in Hazard’ish’s 3 stage video
Wow. All you need to do is slap on some solar panels and whatnot and boom an infinite flight plane
Ffs three stages, not parts. I was expecting a control module, rocket, and fuel, a single part each.
RIP.
Mun and back with only three parts. T.A.R.S.: "It's not possible" Matthew Karr: "No... it's necessary"
Not too many kerbals were harmed in the making of this video.
Jellyfish in space. When we make it to Jool; everything comes off, gentlemen; it is ALL coming off.
Dope video
kerbal groundhog day
this is the most kerbal video i have ever seen
rewatching this at first I thought he was going to count clipping the moon as landing. nope, it's even more spectacular.
You're Amazing, Karr. even if you don't do anything again, thank you for all the interesting designs you've already made. I was entranced by the paddleboat.
Lol doesn't use control surfaces as not to cheat but uses asteroid grabber to still cheat.
How is that cheating?
That rocket could be sold to purchase 5 Apple products.
*Pizza time
You should have just used a decoupler to undock from the big empty fuel tank when over Kerbal than hitting it off on the Mun? Also use 4 or 3 landing struts to land on Mun. I have the old demo with limited parts so just getting a rocket into a full orbit is hard.
Mk1 Lander Can description: This capsule was designed for *lightweight non-atmospheric* landers, and seats a single occupant. Features a novel full-body crumple-zone technology.
How to get to Eeloo and back with 1 part??????
Stratzenblitz got to Gilly. Edit: this is extacly the same design as his.
oh yeah yeah
5 years, 2 dislikes. Impressive
That's much more a reflection of the KSP community than anything I've done in particular. Probably the most positive video game community I've ever been a part of.
Lmao
'I forgot to record'
For someone who claims to be a bad mission planner and pilot, you make and fly some pretty badass rockets. +1 for amazing piloting skills.
that was awesome . thanks for being hoist about how many reloads it took .
Amateur
Version 1.4.4 And Only 6'226 Funds and it can land as well,
I got to Mars with 1089 parts
this is one of the most Kerbal KSP videos ive ever seen. SO good!
Lol you used a youtuber Rocket lol
Flight of the Bumblebee is /the/ perfect song choice for your trip! That was beautiful!
lol and i cant reach mun with 30000 cr rocket :D
I imagine it's just easier to make a regular landing but fast enough to destroy the tank and land easily.
Yeah, but that's after wasting 800 m/s more dV of burns with the big heavy empty tank attached.
Matthew Karr Hm. That makes sense. I was just thinking it'd be cheaper to descend from nearly orbital velocity and take advantage of stupid physics or something
You have basically made a hydraulic powered flapping bird of doom
