    Dear Katie, I trust this message finds you well. I recently had the opportunity to view your lecture presentation on RUclips, and I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and delivery of your content. As an interior designer embarking on the journey of creating digital design tutorial videos, I find myself at an exciting juncture in my career. In light of your experience and expertise in creating engaging video content, I am eager to seek your guidance. Specifically, I am interested in your approach to delivering content within your videos. Do you utilize a teleprompter to ensure a structured delivery, or do you rely on your natural speaking abilities without the assistance of aids to recall the text as I have difficulties in remember texts. Your insights on this matter would be immensely valuable to me as I navigate the realm of digital tutorial creation. I appreciate your consideration and any advice you may be willing to share. Thank you in advance for your time, Warm regards, Marta Talmor

      Wow! A huge round of applause for what you're creating. How exciting. I wish you aaaaaaaallll the best!!!! I don't use a teleprompter because, in my experience, it's obvious that I'm reading and doesn't feel like it's from the heart which is my intention. What I do is put together the topic, create bullet points I want to make sure to cover and then I speak from experience and from the heart making sure to hit each bullet point. Sometimes I'm too long winded but my editing team knows how to cut that out hahaha. My advice to you is to come from love in service of those you want to support with a valuable experience share and you'll be SURE to be a powerful presenter. Go you!!! You've totally got this!!!! xoxoxo Keep me posted. I'm excited for you!

    Hello! I have a question! When analyzing a new clients home, do they ever provide blue prints or floor plans of their home or do you have to measure and map all of that out? Would you call an architect for that?

    • @biographicadesign
      @biographicadesign 10 месяцев назад

      Hey Katie (I love your name) that's a great question. Clients sometimes have plans but not usually (unless you're getting consistent leads from an architect or builder you're partnered with.) In that case, you can take measurements yourself (or an employee can do it) or you can hire an architect to do it for you - that usually costs between $500-$2k depending on the size of the project and the amount of detail you need. In my office, our standard is to hire an architect who comes out and creates a Matterport (matterport.com) scan of the spaces for us - this gives us 3-dimentional information that we value. You can also invest in that machine for yourself, if you think it'll support you. Consider the fees and scope of the project and the level of in-depth measuring it warrants- the time, money, and effort. The least expensive option would be to do it yourself ($free for basic measurements). Up from there would be to hire an intern type of person to do it for you ($30/hour. for basic measurements) Up from there would be to hire an architect to do it for you ($500-$1k more detailed information and includes scaled drawings). And the top of the line would be to have a Matterport made ($1000-$2500. the most detailed information - 3D measurements of any inch of the space in any dimension. can be converted to drawings.) I hope this helps!!! xoxo

    Woaaahhh, m actually making notes🤗😮😮💕💕 I have a tiny question, so when we discuss price with the client we tried 2 different strategies, but as a new business, we stay cautious and if the client seems concerned about the invoice, we always end up giving them a reminder that we can discuss the charges for sure and also we sometime involve discounts for them. But them leads sometime just don't come back, out of 10 only 1 end up as a client and that too cause they've been referred by some of our friend. Where do you think we are lacking? Right now we're struggling with keeping the charges fixed and holding onto our client as well. Need your expert advice againnnn💕

      @biographicadesign 11 месяцев назад

      Oh wow @syedajaffery This is incredible insight you have into your business and the area you get to dive in to nurturing. Great job for leaning in to growth. That proves you're a great business owner. Okay so here are some things to think about: 1. Get clear on what your greatest value is. Here's what I mean. You get to understand what makes you different from the other designers in your area. That will be the thing that you get to talk about it all your marketing as well as in your sales. Know what makes you magnetizing to your people. Here's a quiz that can support you in discovering what that could be: quiz.tryinteract.com/#/633f0ad6de017f00166512c3 2. Being great in sales has A LOT to do with your being able to show the potential client that you hear them and understand them. During your sales meeting, repeat back to them what you've heard them say so that they know you understand. THEN, when you talk about your services, do so in a way that shows how your services particularly support their particular needs. 3.. Be able to talk about your service fees during the sales meeting. There will never be a moment your potential clients will be most interested in hiring you than during that meeting. Sending a proposal later reduces your chances of them saying 'yes.' Here are some other videos that you might find helpful: How to sell services: ruclips.net/video/mp5D5KBoXg8/видео.html Increase your sales: ruclips.net/video/iq-mK45aeDY/видео.html I'm excited for you!! So if the Home Value in LA is 3 mil, if I apply suggested formula I can assume client will be willing to spend 300,000 K on just furnishings? Maybe a whole house renovation… but I doubt the furniture only. And a designer will take 10% of the furnishings budget. That sounds great.. but sounds unrealistic. Can you please give an example how did this formula worked for you with a real numbers?

    • @biographicadesign
      @biographicadesign 11 месяцев назад

      Hey @ALLAttuned great questions! It's really important to know what YOUR average numbers are because it's really important to be able to discuss this with your potential clients in your sales meetings (and on boarding meetings) to make sure that your level of services works with the budget they have in mind. It's also important to steer a client's decisions with budget in case they have unrealistic expectations of what they can get for the money. HGTV makes it look like one can get SO much for SO little - which is not realistic of most projects. So, all of that being said, go back and look at your past projects and see what your average numbers are. Look for a way to simplify those numbers- maybe that looks like an average cost per room type. Maybe that looks like a percentage of home value. Maybe that looks like a cost per square foot. Whatever works best for you. Know your numbers and it'll serve your people greatly. In our office, the numbers I shared are accurate for full interior design of each room. For us, 'full interior design' equates to furnishings, custom millwork, and usually new finishes on all surfaces in the room. We average about $30-$50k per room (which you'll see that $30k per room is about 10% of a $3mm home assuming we're doing the whole home. - If the home is $10mm people tend to spend closer to $50k per room which you'll see equates to about 10% of the home value assuming we're doing the whole home.) People tend to spend more on each room if their home is worth more. Does this make sense? If a room is less than $20k it doesn't give you much room to add wall paper, layer lighting that needs new electrical, paint, custom anything.... And, not all rooms have equal spends, for example, a foyer isn't weighted the same as a living room. That's why I personally use a '% of home value' rather than a 'spend per room' as a budget guide. I do however have a spread sheet for every room type we've ever worked on and how much every client has spent on that room type. So I'm able to come up with averages per room type. I do feel that clients get overwhelmed with that much data. Again, that's why I use a general rule of thumb of '%of home value" as a budget guide. We track and log a lot of data and monitor it over time. I love tracking data like this in our office because it gives me a lot of insight and helps me support my clients robustly! Like I said, though, it's important to know what YOUR numbers are. You might enjoy working on rooms that have a different level of spend. Power to you to create the work you want! The greater point is, is, to know what your averages are so that you can have important conversations with your clients AND so that you can track your growth. So, can I give you some homework? Go over all your past projects and log this information so you can see your $ patterns. I'd love it if you'd report back to me and let me know. It would be interesting to discover insights with this data. Keep the questions coming. These are important conversations to have.

    Hey darling thankyou for being a great help, your energy is sooo contagious 💕🤗. Do you think for interior designers, investing in social media advertisement is a good step? Cause people say high end clients aren't the ones who use social media, so that's not what you'd attract if you run ads there. What do you think? Is it any useful for the designers who have just started off with their company

    • @biographicadesign
      @biographicadesign Год назад

      Hi @syedajaffery that's a great question (and a multi faceted one....) There is no way to be absolutely sure any particular marketing strategy will work, and no marketing strategy works 100% of the time. This is why it's important to have many marketing strategies going at the same time. That being said, social media adds are a very strong way to do marketing. You're able to target particular people groups very poignantly. I've heard it before, too, that "high end clients don't use social media," but, I have to disagree. Of all of my high-end clients, ALL of them are on social media and ALL of them follow my company. It's a great way to interact with potential clients and a great way for them to interact with your brand. Being a known interior designer has a lot to do with popularity which has a lot to do with being known in your area. While social media adds might not be the singe thing that lands you a new project, it will be the thing that gets people to know you exist and interact with your brand. We can talk more about the social adds strategy that's best for you if you'd like ;) xoxoxo cheers to lead generation! PS If you want a lead gen tool - consider www.MyGotchaApp.com which was created just for interior designers that will support you in tracking your prospecting. *Prospecting has the highest return on the time investment.
