In France, we set up a business, enrolled in a middle school, found housing, and even got our cat a European passport!

The first thing we do when in France is, visit a deClerc supermarche for cheese and then a baker for baguettes.
There’s nothing more obnoxious than Americans who feel enlightened and confident to generalize over 30 multicultural countries after visiting 1 (ONE) of them
About nice Strawberrys. The ones in France are good, but strawberrys grown in scandinavia, because of the reletavly cold nights in summer are sweeter and better. I prommise.
I'll take the freedom to not die because I can’t pay my medical bills or meds, the freedom to send my kids to school and not have to worry about them getting shot, the freedom to spend 30 days of paid holidays, the freedom to not die because I had a miscarriage and the doctor is not allowed to help me until I'm almost dead and the freedom to not drown in debt just because I wanted a good education over ANY perceived American freedom.
Hello from Ireland , A few quotes from my late father. 'What can you do with a table only eat from it' 'You can only sit in one chair at a time' You don't need walls to define how much space you have. The world is outside .It's not inside your house
As french, i always saw US like excessive consumer society with big ego and low reasonnable mindset such as ecology or equality in society, not very far from a third world country. For me its more like a "poor" country, a country based on money, mass consumption and high business mindset, but they dont care of everything else if its not about money. And lets not talk about issues known in the medias like guns, drugs, and health care... i paint some sort of caricature there but whats shocked me a lot, that is how high money adundance US has compare to other countries, leads to absolutly high consumption of indus products with apparently low ecology awareness. I mean i feel like US reach this level of money that leads to a gap in the way to see the world. After all, every rich country as a different version of the world, compared to a less rich country. For exemple i remember in previous episode u were suprised there is not many houses with AC in france, no big fridges and also no electrical shutters. For me, its just a normal thing, and its also more ecofriendly i guess. Btw except beautifull landscapes, US is far from selling me a dream (in my opinion). Maybe i should live in US some years, to see the reality and that will maybe change my mind, but thats how i think actualy. 😞
I’ve surprised a couple of Americans by informing them that the American Bill of Rights was primarily based on a similar English Bill of 1689.
Ya'll make some good points. As one with a fair amount of time outside the US, I realize my (our?) fellow countrymen have a provincial mindset. The comparison of "freedom to" verses "freedom from" is a great illustration of the differing perspectives.
US the greatest country in the world 😂
Hi , i' am à frenchman from Paris .I ŕeally enjoy the way ❤ You're descriebing both sides but I hope ýou know that medic care in France , for instance has a long history of struggles and the French still demonstrate to keep theirs rights . That makes also a diffefence about the average hours spent a week at work, age to get what you call the ' the Social security ' even in many case with some of our European neighbourg . I'd like that your American audiences don't think this is because our governement is more for social rights than yours but forced by street to maintain our rights dispite the wishes of neo-liberal wing . I enjoy in advance of watching your next videos . Pascal 68 year old
North America contains 23 countries and they are "THE AMERICANS"...

Good for you for enjoying life in Europe. And being able to reflect on the differences between Europe and the US 👍
Before 1990 people living in the USSR thought they were living in the best country in the world.
Loved that video ! I'm french and unfortunately we're loosing our values, replaced by the ultraliberalism of american society.
It always makes me smile when an American says "we invented everything" then I remember the SI Units every engineer learns. These universal units of measurement are named after mostly Europeans, probably because the USA didn't exist as a modern country when the scientists were developing them. Tesla (magnetic flus density) wasn't even an American, and look what American did to him. The same works for culture, you will see a lot of social media posts regarding art and photography based around Americans (1950/60's), when Europeans were actually the first to develop the concepts much earlier.
The fact that they choose Trump as their presidents speaks volumes, and underlines everything you guys said.
Hey guys - you didn't need to move to France to get these myths busted, you just needed to come to Canada - I cant stand how Americans feel they are the freest people in the world. Well if American freedom requires buying a Gun and living in a gated community and worrying about going bankrupt when you go to the hospital then you can have it.
I’m an old guy from Quebec and never have I heard US citizens openly explain how weird their lives are as seen from other countries; you guys are on a civilizing mission; kudos! 🫡 One thing though, if you think US roads are bad, you obviously have not experienced our style of French roads. 🤣🚧
I hope the RUclips algortihms show your videos to people who have lived in the US their entire lives. It seems like a lot of people there needs to be informed about the reality of both their own country, but also about the world outside their own. Then I must add that I am also looking into moving to France as it is much better in most ways compared to Sweden where I live today. So not all countries in EU are great, you have chosen one of the better ones. In Sweden we have private schools that are funded by tax money. Which means they make a profit of keeping the quality of education low to save money and use more of the tax money they get to give to shareholders and make a profit. It is insane to be honest.
Your camera angle is completely off putting. Don't talk down to people.
One of the bigger differences in income between europeans and americans is how much your income changes trough your lifetime. Yes, americans end up with more by their 40's, but europeans make more in their 20's and 30's, and generally have a far greater quality of live in those ages. Yes you will have less in your 50's, but still more than eough to live comfortably, and your earlier years will have been far better. Is it a good tradeoff? Depends on the person, but most euroepans would say so.
It's interesting to have a perspective from a foreign family who spent several years in France and shared their opinion about my country.
I am a Brit and a Francophile. I think Britain is more closely aligned to the US sadly. All the very best and this is the first time I’ve become aware of your channel. Brilliant.
You are so right about this. I live in Norway, and I have had Americans trying to tell me I have less freedom....funny really.
France is the best place for people from the USA to live, they're Europe's worse drivers 😅
Ive been watching quite a few of these comparisons , and in general life is better outside USA .
So sick of having American culture and so called values rammed down my throat 24 hours a day.
The first point is obvious when working in a US company while living in Europe. There is really a difference in how you are treated. Americans usually get away with anything while you constantly get questioned about anything all the time.
C'est très intéressant a écouter en tant que français.
The US is a sick, dangerous country. It brainwashes its citizens much like Germany in the 30s and 40s and spends its wealth not on its people, but on an attempt to control or destroy other people.
When I go to France I hit every place that sells food, the super Marches, the food courts at the Grande Magazines, and as many of the street markets as I can get to. I DO find things that I can take home, and I buy a lot of things for snacks in my hotel room. I will say not all bakeries are created equal. Just because it's made in France does NOT mean it's all delicious. JMHO You can use a little molasses to white sugar so wonder lie in Alsace one might find molasses? They have THE BEST butter. The yogurt is so good, and the cheese??? OMG. I prefer to go the cheese store but the Super Marche is OK too.
US is the still greatest country in the world looking at it as an entity. It’s unique, powerful and big. That being said, quality of life especially for people with kids is worse than in Europe. Not having job security, and constant pressure of keeping up with the Johnses will never let you experience peace of mind. I would never trade you my peace of mind for your brand new Mercedes or a house with a three car garage. Poverty and crime I won’t even mention. I lived with my family in Florida for 17 years, had a brand new Mercedes, three car garage house with a pool in a gated golf course community. It’s all very nice to have but it wasn’t worth it.
A few questions: > Which Country/Nation has the highest gunshot mortality rate amongst children on the Planet ? > Which Country/Nation has the highest Medical costs in the OECD ? > Which Country/Nation on the Planet is so insular, to the point of embarrassment ?
Canadian here, I agree with everything you've said in this video. Unfortunately many americans will disagree, calling you left wing nut jobs.
As a South African who has never been to the US but loved travelling in Europe, I come from a country with many challenges including inequality, so much poverty. Nevertheless Americans were always painted as poorly educated, loud and crass ‘know it all’s’, hence I suppose why I’ve never spent my hard earned cash going there. (International travel is very expensive for us). As I’ve got older I’ve realized what an extremely prejudiced view I hold! writing Nevertheless it’s ironic that there’s such a strong bias held by Americans, yet many people of other nations have a similarly strong bias towards them.
My father was in the US army who came to France at the tail end of WWII married my French mother and I was born here as a duel citizen of France and the States I have live most of my life stateside, and today I live in France with zero regrets this is more true now that Trump won again!
The Sickness Is The System...any more, the American system is sick to the core, but most Americans still believe the propaganda & brainwashing about the exceptionalism of everything American. We're slowly devolving into a 3rd World country. So glad I made the move abroad in 2009. Make it back once a year to see family, but no interest in ever moving back. So many amazing places to live that have more freedoms & a far greater quality of life!
We used to get deliveries to a 'mailbox store' when we were in Spain. Essentially a private 'post office box', so they get your packages, your mail, and will take your packages for pick up. Awesome idea that Amazon has now adopted in the US (dropping off returns at Kohl's or picking up a package at the CVS!)
Hey Guys really enjoying y'all videos - Same Houston, Dallas, East Texas combination here. Love the vibe y'all got.
Regarding bathing suits. Leave your US prudishness in the US. The French (or Germans) are looking at you with European eyes. They don’t see the bulge of your genitalia. And it’s way more comfortable. Or go to a nudist beach. 😊
It's adorable when other Americans realize they do not live in a first world country, they merely have first world problems... We live in second class, proclaiming it to be advanced.
Every country believes it’s own propaganda. The question is, why does America choose it’s own particular brand? Are they trying to convince themselves that the national flaws are in fact “features”?
Hope Americans are watching.
I always think Americans believe the rest of the world wishes they were American when in reality we're glad we aren't American
Very good points. A village can be TOO small. The village shop closes, the baker retires, with luck the Mairie may have part time post service. Too small for public transport, so you need to drive a few miles for supermarket, pharmacie, medical center etc, Which is fine for holiday home but not convenient as permanent residence, especially for older folk. Oh and you did not mention A SCHOOL, which is important for families with children.
All you have to do is look north. Canada hasn’t got it’s s**t worked out to the point of many some European countries but there’s healthcare, there’s clean water, and the threat of being caught in gunfire is almost non-existent. Europeans also tend to be better educated than most North Americans.
My husband and I are completely and unashamedly Francophiles! We are an older gay couple (63 and 71, respectively) and just love the French way of life. My husband speaks French, and told by some native French speakers, without an American accent, while I’m slowly learning it, accent and all. Our dream is to live our golden years in France, and with the political climate here in the states, it may be sooner than we thought. We know it’s not utopia, but we feel the positives will help us through the negatives. It’s a country that shares our values and our beliefs, and we would love to call it home one day.
Some years ago in Switzerland, it was forbidden to run a washing machine in Sunday, let alone a lawnmower. Sitting on a sunny balcony enjoying sunday lunch, we could barely have a conversation because the Swiss Army were doing live firing practice across the valley. One rule for us and another for the guys with guns.
