you know as you get older, everything feels related. when i was a kid i loved war games. and as i got older i felt like i didn't feel like war games were games because they became more realistic. everything seemed like the real world. and it wasn't fun anymore

My youngest age was the 2nd generation which was Atari VCS and Intellivision. These of the days of Pac-Man, Star Strike, and Donkey Kong. Gaming was great especially at the 6th gen, but then declined due to corporate greed, microtransactions and on the 7th gen, hardware reliability.

For me it changed when Titanfall 2 started to die. I was so good at that one competitive game and knew once it was gone, so was the competitive gamer in me. Now the only time I play shooters is like once a month with cousins to catch up, otherwise it's almost exclusively single player story or puzzle games. Every time I hop on CoD it makes me laugh how bad I get steamrolled by these 12 year old pros and streamers.

Burger King put forth more effort in the games they made than any of these games and that’s crazy. I actually had a ton of fun on the racing game they made.

For the christian game werewolves, in Quebec folklore, if you don't do your Easter duty for 7 years in a row, you turn into a loup-garou (a werewolf) and end up forced to transform into a wolf, dog, pig or calf each night and run around until someone makes you bleed. maybe there's a similar connection between religion and werewolves in brazilian folklore that would explain their presence? i doubt it, but it's worth checking i'd say

I'm 30 and started with the gameboy color and Ps1. Games have changed in ways I don't like but honestly a big part of that is me being married and a dad, i literally can't play games like i use too. I mostly play some quick session of Bloons td and Balatro on my phone most nights, then get like 3 hours a weekend to play console games. I almost only play singleplayer games so its been good for me. I usually wait 6 months now for sales, and i don't feel like i am missing much

I find using banjo kazooie an interesting choice for b roll. Have someone play nuts and bolts and then have them play bk1 back to back. Anyone of any age.

Gaming don't feel.the same for me anymore because when I go to the game shelf and pull that game I got a Craven to get all in too turn it on and slip that disc in...... 4 hours to update. Watch youtube about game waiting burn out completely then never play it.

It changed when gaming became mainstream and corporations started making money off of it. I’ve been gaming since the 80’s. Back then gaming wasn’t mainstream and people who made games put their hearts and souls into the games.

I doubt anybody will read all this, but I'm in group 3 and the Wii was my first home console growing up (even though I had a DS beforehand). I still love gaming, but it definitely feels different from how it did before. I think you have the right idea in that it is both gaming and me that has changed. I feel as though games are being made easier to be more accessible (and more profitable) and in turn, less rewarding. On top of that, I am also older and have much better problem solving and critical thinking skills than when I was a child. There are some new AAA games coming out that catch my interest, but I have recently been playing more retro games, indie games, and even console or handheld games I missed out on growing up because it feels refreshing to me sometimes when I play a shorter game that doesn't hold my hand instead of a longer game that does. It really depends on the mood I'm in. Retro games have especially been very fun getting into since there are so many popular classics and cult classics that still have active communities who love them. I mostly like RPGs and jrpgs of all kinds, beatemups, strategy games, and puzzle games. If you have any recommendations (new or retro), feel free to recommend something if you'd like :)

Mass effect 1 to 3, Skyrim and the witcher 3, were the last games i really thoroughly enjoyed. With RDR2 a bit as well (bit less for some reason)

The shit that was made before you was born was made to work and last unlike the crap we have today its all plastic tack even the component's inside don't last as they are only made to last so many times. Yes technology has come along way and is so much advance and better today then it ever was back in the past as that is called evolutionary. But what we have today just don't last long anymore example tv todays are just stunning 4k but look how much they cost and how long do they last oled burning issues even after a year useless piece of crap you cant even able to leave the tv on all day without burning over time because of these static images on the channel and then there the fade-in in the colours because they are organic. Games today may look nice but full of bugs stuttering and patching after patching all the time because they bring them out unfinished because of greedy investors want there money money money. Back in my days we had games like serious sam unreal tournament doom type games all worked run smoothly no stuttering and professional programmers. well the gaming industry is going down hill you can only see it for yourself why they don't work there boring to play no fun anymore your to busy trying to get them working on a pc let alone playing them lol This is why i go back to playing the old games more than i do to the new ones also you need a powerful top end pc to play them now even my 3080 cant play these new up coming games unless i want them looking crap in 1080p. I've been gaming back in the 80's from the zx81 amiga spectrum c64 n64 and in the 90's i went to pc and that's what i am still on now. yes that makes me old fart boomer shooter at the age of 55 now coming up 56 in January i love the old style game like classic doom i even played doom 2016 but hated it as its nothing like doom It has nothing to do with being old i game because i love the art work that goes into them as i was an portrait artist back in my younger days and gaming is art however all that is subjective to the person who's play's them. I never get frustrated in playing games and i am not a competitive person or stressed out in them i am just fed up with games running like crap My type of games that i play are l4d 1 /2 Unreal tournament 3/4 killing floor 1/2 serious sam 123 but even playing them now feels so laggy to how they used to play on my old pc .You have to use tweak's to get them running with unreal tournament games and they feel so laggy now and it just makes me not want to play them even though i do.

Why didn't you just emulate all of these instead of wasting money? The market is horrible rn for the old games and anything retro. People over price everything, making emulating that more appealing.
