You are so inspirational I never thought of University of Alabama but you have given me insight. Thank you 🙏🏽
Girl you have the prettiest accent!!!
Aww thank you!! 🥰
I am a black male that went to The UA and I feel that most of the people there aren't racist. I didn't really have any significant issues with racism outside of micro aggressions from certain individuals. We will experience that anywhere we go. They also have a great African American Studies program. I took some of their classes as electives and was surprised to see that the classes had a considerable amount of white students. One was even from Cullman which has a really negative reputation for being racist.
Do you know if the nursing program is good??
Hey ali
Another question………do you get your own dorm room or do you have to share a room with someone?
How did you afford to pay to go to the University of Alabama? I really want to go there when I graduate in 2022 but I’m rethinking it because it costs too much. Any advice on that?
A question I have is what are some fun things to do on campus. Also, did you join any organizations? Great video btw👌🔥
I enjoyed your video Jasmine!! Your lip combo is cute too lol. I’m glad you’re less stressed now and loved the update!❣️
Thank you so much sis!! 😭💓

Thank you my loveee, know I appreciate you so much 💖💖
As a New Yorker, My image of Alabama is negative on the race aspect but is auburn overall a safe place to travel to ?
There are a lot of black people in auburn as well! I've never traveled there but I know a lot of people that have, I think it is pretty safe! Here are a few links to check out of black youtubers at auburn! --P.S. I can understand why your image is so negative! Being from AL, the south is really all I know so I am used to how things operate here. But I do think if you decide to give it a chance you would love it! It's not as bad as it seems and is portrayed to be. There are racist people everywhere but try not to let them dictate how you view the south and/or Alabama bc besides those type of people, I promise the south is full of amazing people and areas! Let me know if these links help you or if you have any more questions girl!! 🥰 ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=auburn+university+black+students ruclips.net/video/iO-9KX9wTOI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/C5x4qhhdT9k/видео.html ruclips.net/video/rOoTaiJ3_Dc/видео.html

Hi Robert! Congratulations to her!! As far as I know, this is a popular one that a lot of people use: www.scuttleshuttle.com/ and if you scroll on this page, it includes a list of some more! www.visittuscaloosa.com/transportation/
I'm deciding between Spelman and Alabama. Do you think Alabama would be a better experience?
If you're looking for something different I definitely say come to UA! but maybe make a list of some things you're looking for and compare with what Spelman has to offer vs UA. I really think you would like it here! but weigh your options!!
so you have never felt uncomfortable on campus while your time there?
Besides the story I discussed, no ma'am. For me, being at UA was like being any where else. I just be myself and keep it pushing--knowing why I'm there and trying to enjoy myself, helped me to keep going and finish! If you decide to come here you'll do great. And I'm always here if you have any questions!
As another black young women at UA that’s from Alabama. Going into my junior year, I’d like to say that i’ve never experienced any type of racism on campus. There is a good amount of black students on campus, I can’t remember a time walking through and not seeing a few skin folk 😂 I’ve been in a few organizations and never felt discriminated against in any way. With that being said I highly suggest using twitter/instagram and talking in group chats to meet more people. At the start of my freshman year I wasn’t the most social and towards the spring semester I started making a lot friends through knowing like three people because the black community on campus tend to intertwine.
yess Alana! Thank you so much for your comment! I definitely agree with you 100%. I always see some people that look like us on campus. I don't want anyone thinking black people are rare at UA🤣 I also think group chats and social media are a great way to meet more people too!! Goodluck on your junior year🥰 I know you will do great!!
I am late to this Video but Congratulations 🤗
Thank you sooo much love!!!🥰I'm sorry I'm late to replying 😭
That’s a powerful line you said. “It’s not the land that does anything, it’s the people”. I think more people need to remember that. That is powerful.
Yes, Shan! It's definitely the people. Thank you so so much!!♥️🥰
It's not even all the people... There might only be a handfull of hateful people in an area and interactions with those individuals can taint your whole experience. With that said, complacency is compliance.
💕💕💕💕
🥰
The intro about the shiny forehead has me weak 🤣 and yes ma’am to gloves and a mask while cleaning! Those strong ass fumes will have you lightheaded if you don’t 💀💀
You know they be extra strong sis 🤣🤣🤣 gotta protect yourself 🤣 and girl it was out thereeee🤣
On the actual campus, when school is in, will you see a lot of black people or will the black race just be totally outnumbered by the white race? Also, are there more black females or males on campus?
When school is in you'll see a lot of black people! but majority of the white race. It is a pwi so you will still predominately see the white race. I honestly think it's kind of an equal ratio of each, black male and female! It's so many black students here, you would never think it was, but there is. I was also surprised!! once I went to the first event that focused on black UA, known as "ONYX", my freshman year, i was so shocked to see how many people looked like me lol
Jasmine I loved your video! I’ve been able to reference it too when I’m asked about the experience at UA. ☺️

I got accepted into UA (class of '25) and into the crimson edge program. 3.2 GPA and didn't submit test scores. Will the program be beneficial for me?
Yay!!! congratulations love 🤗They call the crimson edge program a "program" but in reality its just a freshman seminar class that you take your first semester at UA along with your other classes (math, science, etc.) ! I came to UA Fall of 2017 and took my course from August-December (fall semester). That Spring semester I graduated from the "program" and was done with crimson edge all together! the class is very very very easy lol and it's sort of a class where you can relax and bond with your classmates. college is not an easy thing, all the time, so to have people around you that can relate to what all of yall are going through was truly the best! -In Crimson Edge you receive your own personal academic advisor, tutoring (if needed), and other support from peers and faculty that work within the program. Although the class ends after your first semester, you are still able to meet with your given advisor which was a plus because they check in with you to help you register for the following semester, see how your grades and classes are going, and any other problems you may have! Its very nice because you get to know your advisor well! Mine actually introduced me to my minor (Cyber Criminology), if it wasn't for her, I would have never known about the field--and now I'm headed to get my master's in that same field lol -the advisors also help you to register for classes and are available whenever you need them. -I would definitely say being in crimson edge was a big plus and advantage because you're given an advisor that cares and wants to help. They show a lot of attention to your needs. If you ever need anything just let me know!! No worries sis!! you got it 🥳

I'm taking a tour because I recently got accepted early this month, I didn't want to make the wrong decision and it be racist and having a had time there, any more advice
hey love!! yayyy congratulations on being accepted!! I would definitely say to take a tour of the campus probably once school starts back this January. That way you can get a good feel of campus and the vibes. I definitely hate covid is going around so it may not be as many people on campus as usual but regardless I think you will love it! My other advice would be to continue watching more youtube videos of black students at UA, continue doing research in all areas, such as fields of study you may be interested in, organization/clubs, etc. My biggest goal with this video is that I don't want any black men and women to be afraid to come to this school because it is in the south and a PWI. There are so many people on campus that look like us, you wouldn't believe it until you see it😂I hope you do decide to come here, there are amazing opportunities waiting on you!!! If you think of any more questions just let me know!!! 🥰

I have a 3.2 GPA not counting my grades of senior year hopefully it comes up. I’m trying to get a good ACT my highest is 19 :( UA is my dream school and I want to take criminology and hopefully get recruited by the CIA or FBI I’ve send in my application for fall 2021. My question is how long does it take for them to give you a yes or no and how are the criminal and justice classes?
Hi Sharon!! First off, I'm very excited for you and your choice to apply here at UA! It is an amazing school with a thousand and one resources lol. Your plan is amazing and it is great that you are planning ahead. It took me maybe 3 weeks or so to hear back on if I was accepted or not. I kept check on it via my myBama account. You should receive an answer on there before it comes in the mail (my experience). do not be afraid to try with whatever credentials you have in your background because then you will know what your next steps should be. too add, your GPA is amazing and so is your ACT score. I had a 3-point level GPA and an 18 on my ACT and got in. The academic field of Criminology and Criminal Justice here at UA is amazing and I love it. keep me updated on your process! you can comment back here or DM on any of my social media platforms; goodluck girl you got this!!!
I just got accepted into Bama under the Crimson Edge program. I’ll be attending fall 2021! My GPA is 3.59 and act was 18. I could’ve boosted my score, but due to COVID, I decided to just keep my original score! Thanks for this video ❤️👏🏾

Alabama is my dream school and as a senior in HS my act isn’t the best... but my GPA is around a 3.5 do you know the lowest act score you need to be accepted into the program? and can you apply for the program?
Hey Taylor! My ACT score was an 18 or 17 when I applied and got accepted into UA. Im not sure what the lowest score they will take is but your GPA is amazing. You cannot apply directly to crimson edge; however, they will place you into the program if your GPA or ACT is not the minimum that is required. Your situation sounds exactly like mine when I was a senior in HS, If I were you, I would go ahead and apply to UA and go from there!! The only difference in being in crimson edge is taking a freshman seminar course during your first semester, along with your regular course schedule. Definitely isn't hard at all! You got this🥰 success.ua.edu/advising/crimson-edge-faq
