I used to live in Austin in the late 70s and early 80s, so a lot has changed . I visit often as I have family there, so here are some of my recommendations. As others have said, 6th Street is a better street to visit for quirky shops and live music. Antones is a great blues bar not just for Texas blues but national acts as well. At the corner of N Lamar and the 6th, you flagship store for Whole Foods across 6th St. is Bookpeople, one of the best bookstores in the country across Lamar, from that is Waterloo records for your local and hard to find vinyl. Around the corner from that is an Amy's that caters to the locals, so the proportions tend to be bigger. I'd skip the Oasis if you want to drive in the Hill Country go to the Saltlick for open pit BBQ it's different from the smokers BBQ you had it is BYOB though. Another historic place to visit is the LBJ library on UTs campus. You can see the Capital and it in one day. If someone is into Texas history the State Cemetery is close by with the graves of many famous Texans. It has the shortish State Highway 3 blocks long down its middle. I visited all those places on a weekend trip not long ago, playing tourist which I had not done in a long time. For those that want the western cowboy experience the Broken Spoke is the place to go for real country music and dancing they will teach you how to 2 step no line dancing allowed.
Wow! Thank you for taking the time to share all those recommendations -- I am sure this will help out many viewers! I want my travel channel to be as helpful as possible, so I really appreciate your insight.
Your video of your trip to Yosemite is super Nice… looking forward for the next installments ⏳⏳👍🏻
Thank you! Yeah more to come 😊
WTF!! Great Video!! Thank You out of your busy schedule to post about Yosemite ☺️
WTF memorial day? Took you this long to upload? That was before summer. Late news
It takes me a while to create these videos because I am trying to balance RUclips with my full time job. And I try to put a lot of effort into them to be as helpful as possible. Even though Memorial Day has passed, the purpose of the video is not about how to visit Yosemite during Memorial Day. It’s about how to spend 3 Days in Yosemite. My vision is for this to be evergreen content - to be watched at any time of the year. I just happened to go during Memorial Day Weekend.
Fireee vid 🔥

where would you recommend to camp overnight?
If I had to choose one place, I would do lake 2. Lake 3 is also a niche choice.
Thank you for the break down! Best video 📹
Great videos we loved your format and all the great content. The videos were informative and edited nicely. Thanks for taking us along. New subscribers
I'm going at New Year's do you think it will be ok to try to go to the Arch without pre-booking a boat?
Should be fine! If you are worried though, you can check if it is even possible to pre-book a boat on new years, and if it is, then I’m positive other companies will be available the day of at the Marina.
Thank you for the video Keanu...very informative since I´m visiting San Antonio this coming weekend. Glad you told us about the cheap or free parking space app!! Very useful 👌
You’re very welcome! I hope you have a great time!
2 hours is very long for the i35 trip between austin and san antonio....it's usually about an hour and a half, but of course traffic can change things
Missing or not mentioning The Domain or Oyster Landing should be an offense lol . Just kidding, check those out next time you visit Austin. 2nd Avenue is very pretty as well, specially at night. Congress avenue has a more "heart of Austin" feel than South Congress to be honest. Even 6th st feels more classic than South Congress. I would have personally skipped SoCo and visited 6th street, even if during the day, as it is more historic.
Ahh I never heard of The Domain or Oyster Landing, definitely will check them out next time. Yeah SoCo was a bit underwhelming, so I appreciate the tips on checking out those other streets! Helps other viewers as well
Glad you enjoyed it. Sorry about the heat. Award winning BBQ? Lmao ok I guess but glad you had fun and my wife loves that Hyatt Regency. It's likely one of the most beautiful hotels we have here. I get a lot of points for Hyatt through work travel and I want to go there too but no real reason to yet.
There are lots of other hyatt hotels that you could use your points on whenever you go on vacation. But I will say that the point/value conversion for the Hyatt Regency Riverwalk was really good!
If you noticed, I added a new element -- the "travel trivia question." Too easy, too hard? Let me know! Just wanted to add something a little "fun." Ahh I’m glad you found my Texas series helpful! I hope you have a great time 😊
Thanks for the tips
You’re welcome!
I saw another video from the traveller made one year ago. He mentioned that the entrance to Balandro beach was limited to 150 guests and ghey could not make it becouse they did not make a reservation. How to make a reservation? Is there a website for Balandro beach? Ty
From what I know, the beach is limited to 450 guests each for the morning and afternoon time slot. You don’t have to make a reservation; I didn’t when I went in December 2023. You just have to get there early and be one of the first 450 people. It’s a first come, first serve basis. Of course, Balandra Beach officials can change this policy, but I believe this is the way things are still being ran. Perhaps, the other traveler you watched simply didn’t get there in time. I don’t believe there is an official website for Balandra Beach. Hope that helps!

Quick history of the Riverwalk: After the flood of 1921 (where the water was 8ft high on the street level), the city fathers wanted to enclose the river and make it a drainage tunnel. Luckily, they couldn't get the citizens to vote for the money to do so. When the Great Depression occurred, Maury Maverick got the WPA to rebuild La Villita and create the Riverwalk, designed by Robert Hugman to be the "Venice of America". However, it got a reputation of a place NOT to go (Casa Rio was the only restaurant on the river) until Hemisfair, the 1968 World's Fair. It's always nice, but from Thanksgiving to New Year's it's magical with the lights in the trees.
Thank you for enlightening us with that history! It’s so interesting to learn how things become the way they are. Why did it initially get a reputation of somewhere not to go? Was it because it was boring and barren?
I don't know how you got those prices at Pueblo Bonito Blanco. Its like 700$ per night everywhere I look. Same as any other resort in Cabo :(
What dates or time of year are you going? I got a discount from using booking.com (genius level 2 and mobile phone discount) and we went on the weekdays.
It was a beautiful journey you made for us to see! I could enjoy the beauty of those places in the comfort of my home. Thank you!🙏🏼
Nice. Wish I had seen this before our trip a couple weeks ago. We enjoyed some of the same places!!
Thanks! Any places you recommend that I didn’t get to see?
Eat at Maro steak and seafood!!
Nice video! I will be sure to say hi to the flamingos for you. We will be at Blanco/rosé in the next 10 days.
Yes, the oddly placed flamingos! Enjoy your stay!
I went last weekend I planning to come back November 22
How cool! How was your experience and what lakes did you check out?
@@KeanuTravelsTowas 39/41 my experience great , I did third lake . I like to go for 7
You need a permit to bring a backpack?
If you are staying overnight, then yes. If not, then no.
where is the link for the water filter?
My bad! I updated it in the description! Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
this is the best video ive seen of this hike, excellent job
Thanks I appreciate your comment! I plan on making more videos on hikes like this!
What was the tour company you used for ATV
Real Baja Tours. Specifically, we did the Cabo Migrino Beach and Desert Tour
Loved your video. Thanks for the tips and ideas!
Thank you! Glad you found it helpful. I appreciate you taking the time to comment 😊
I only got as far as Lake 1 and just want to kick myself for not just walking a bit more for number 2. I deffinitly have to go back and check them all out 😍
Ahhh you were so close! Next time, for sure!
Torchys Taco is also great. Austin has a great metro as well. The next stop on Metro after MLK has great restaurants.
Thanks for the recommendations! Yes, I heard Torchy's Taco's has some good breakfast tacos.
Amy's ice cream is great place to visit too
Yes, I’m willing to give Amy’s another try. Do you have any recommendations to share?
I also have Best Scoops the best Ice Cream place in Round Rock, TX. It's got the best Latino Ice Cream
Are there rental car stations in the marina area ?
Yes, several! A search on google maps can help you see which ones are next to your hotel.
Where did you rent your car? Did have to go back to the airport?
I rented my car from National at Cabo San Lucas for one day. It was convenient because the location was just a walk away from the hotel (Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos Blanco). I did not want to rent a car at the airport for that exact reason of having to drive it back.
How did you call Uber? Did you use the same app as in the US?
Yep, same exact app!
Would it be more cost effective to rent a car and drive everywhere?
if you are in cabo san lucas and mostly staying cabo san lucas then no. If you are staying in the tourist corridor and want to take day trips to cabo san lucas or san jose del cabo, then yes. for me and my partner, we only rented a car for a single day when we had to drive to Balandra Beach near la paz. all the other days we took either an uber or taxi to get around. We stayed in Cabo San Lucas the entire time.
All that stuff you did was just the tourist crap there’s so many other things going on here. However, you have to be local to know about them.
Thanks for your feedback. What do you recommend seeing?
This was a fun one to make! I haven’t created a hiking video in a while and I hope you enjoy the slower pace. This is the last video of my Texas Road Trip series. Comment below if you know any other hikes or nature spots in Texas Hill Country that is worth checking out!
Bruh 2 hour drive???????? San Antonio is literally 1 hour away maybe even 45 min from Austin lol
It took us 2 hours, but maybe because we hit some traffic. Looking at Google Maps right now, it's an hour and 25 minutes.
na they aren't that close either...no way you're getting from downtown SA to downtown austin in less than an hour. without traffic, right now on a sunday at 3:30pm, google maps is giving 1 hour and 28 minutes
Boat Captain Jose was Awesome, 9- 28-29 when I was there , Riverwalk San Antonio lots of fun
Glad you a had a good time! He made us laugh the entire time
You lost me at biting stingrays.
Perhaps not worth the risk!
