Fossils!! 250+ million years OLD
A fun find last year near Hudson Hope BC. I posted on a couple of Facebook groups to help with the identification and came up with Fusilinids. Kind of amazing that I actually picked this up being it was just a grey rock at time of discovery.....WHAT LUCK!

Monte Lake adventure BE WARNED

One of my first rockhounding adventures and was truly excited. It was alot of fun and I learned a great deal...like to properly identify calcite vs chalcedony. I also learned later on that there are some claims in the area and I did not know at the time how to check that so IF YOUR watching this BE WARNED before collecting in and around Monte lake do check to ensure your not hounding on a claim.

Was out and about west of Prince George coming back from a work trip and decided to stop in at this random rock pit and was rewarded with my largest piece of chalcedony and an amazing carnelian piece.

Had some time to kill so headed out mid afternoon to play on the Fraser river within the boundaries of South East side of Prince George. Overall was a great day with some great finds.

Was down in the Prince George area recently and wanted to finally field test my UV lights. A couple local rockhounds agreed to show me the Cottonwood Park gravel bars located at the confluence of the Nechaco River and Fraser River. It was just getting dusk and we ended in full dark :)

Could you hazard a guess on what type of plant?
Looks like what I’ve been finding on my farm in the south west of England, my best guess is that their ancient sea plants.

I don't believe so. As far as I can tell possibly what they call gneiss. Basically squeezed rock but what made this cool is its size and out of place. Definitely open to suggestions though
