“So Many People” from Saturday Night (Sondheim series)
The final installment. This beautiful love song is from Sondheim’s first professional musical, set in Brooklyn in 1929, and is sung originally by the two main characters. I love it as a solo, though, and I love this key. So I thought it a perfect way to end this. I hope you like it! #sondheim #stephensondheim #saturdaynight #musicaltheatre #love

“Let Me Entertain You” from Gypsy (Sondheim series)
Просмотров 3222 года назад
Sondheim did not do the music for this show, but he did write the lyrics! In this song, Miss Gypsy Rose Lee takes the stage for the first time and is at first, completely terrified. After a while, though, she begins to settle into it and even enjoy it. As time would go on, she would eventually become one of the biggest stars in burlesque. #sondheimlyrics #gypsyroselee #musicaltheatre
“Send in the Clowns” from A Little Night Music (Sondheim series)

I am well aware that I am decades too young for this role, but this song is a classic and truly one of Sondheim’s greatest. I absolutely had to include it in this memorial list. I did my best to capture the spirit of the piece and I hope you enjoy the results. #sendintheclowns #stephensondheim #sondheim #musicaltheatre #classic
“Green Finch and Linnet Bird” from Sweeney Todd (Sondheim series)

This is the first time we see Johanna, ward of the wicked Judge Turpin and long lost daughter of the eponymous barber. Trapped in her home, she sings woefully to the birds outside her window of how she longs for her freedom. #sweeneytodd #stephensondheim #sondheim #greenfinch #musicaltheatre
“Worst Pies in London” from Sweeney Todd (Sondheim series)

The next installment in my Sondheim project. This is where in the show we first meet Mrs. Lovett, a washed-up piemaker in Victorian London with a few nasty tricks up her sleeve. Hope you like it! #sweeneytodd #worstpiesinlondon #angelalansbury #stephensondheim #sondheim #musicaltheatre
“Moments in the Woods” from Into the Woods (Sondheim series)
Просмотров 602 года назад
After the tragic death of legendary composer Stephen Sondheim, I have decided to honour him by singing some of my favorite Sondheim pieces. This is from Act 2 of Into the Woods. After a tryst with Cinderella’s Prince, the Baker’s Wife is reflecting on her choices, what they mean, and how fleeting life can be. Enjoy! #intothewoods #momentsinthewoods #sondheim #stephensondheim #musicaltheatre
“Au revoir, Molière” (a farewell ode to my late English budgie based on “Bye Bye Lil Sebastian)
Просмотров 382 года назад
My beloved English Budgie, Molière, passed away on this date a year ago. I was absolutely devastated and I’m still not over him. In his honour on the anniversary of his death, I rewrote the lyrics to the Parks and Rec song “Bye Bye Lil Sebastian” to be about Molière. Rest in peace, buddy. You were the best little companion a girl could ask for.

I've been feeling really down these past few days and although my voice is totally ragged from multiple days of little to no sleep, I wanted to learn a new song to cheer myself up. A very dear and beloved friend once told me I should sing this, so I figured it'd be a good one to pick. Enjoy! #lightinthepiazza #musicaltheatre #thelightinthepiazza
"Somewhere Over The Rainbow" from The Wizard of Oz: 82nd Anniversary Tribute

Evening, all. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's film The Wizard of Oz, based on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, is an American classic, and has touched hearts all over the world since its release in 1939. Oftentimes, it is considered to be the first truly American fairytale. I know Judy Garland owns this song and nobody sings it like she does, but like many I have always loved this story and t...

I played Sally Bowles when I was 16 and still have the wig I wore, so naturally I had to put it on to sing this song. It's always meant an awful lot to me, and again, even though I'm still recovering a badly damaged throat it was fun nonetheless. Hopefully, more videos will follow despite my crazy busy schedule. Sally will always be a part of me, and I hope you enjoy watching this as much as I ...

It has been far too long since I last uploaded, and even though I lost my voice a few weeks ago I could not resist bringing out this Golden Age beauty. I have had lots of this kind of thing on the brain since watching the Apple Tv show Schmigadoon, and Oklahoma! is one of my favorite R&H shows. Please excuse my damaged throat and lack of fancy recording equipment and enjoy the song. :)

Hello, there, RUclips. I know it has been quite some time, and I am hoarse at the moment, but I wanted to sing despite not really having a voice! So here it is (originally filmed on Feb. 26). This song means a lot to me and I love singing it, so I threw together a costume and had some fun before work that day. Enjoy!
"Dyin' Ain't So Bad"-- Bonnie and Clyde *86th Anniversary: read description*
Просмотров 1204 года назад
On Wednesday, May 23rd 1934, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were gunned down in Bienville Parish, Louisiana on the side of the road. 86 years later, their story is very much still a part of American lore. What I love about this musical is how honest it is, and how it gets you to think about the morality of what happened. 167 bullets in total filled the car that morning. I personally think that ...

I’ve found your channel thanks to your comment about being violin player (to put it shortly) And here I’m surprised by not just a honestly speaking young lovely lady but also a very brave and mostly important astonishing singer ! If I would heard this alive I would thought you must be a fallen angel indeed ! Thanks for taking opportunity to speak about your personal struggles and giving courage to others. I‘ve personally a different view and approach to (not just a mental) illness and speaking of “valid” (self-value?) it gets a little funny but thats about many things of our handmade world and our inner worlds which are missing contact points with reality more and more (thats my using of opportunity to “speak” - we humans are playing games and too often gets stuck in them playing roles not just outside but also inside ourselves without even realizing it properly) But I agree with what you are saying..I hope my english make sense. So keep it rollin and I wish you to win not just a contest (if its not too late) but also to win over your illness !
