The target is C-Zone steel at 50 yards. Only hits count, I do make up a couple mikes. Yes, it can be done faster, but probably not by anyone that feels the need to point that out. Yes, I'm using the Magpuls, maybe not to ...

    TISAS 1911 A1 runs great. Mine feeds federal HST, gold dot, Remington golden saber bonded. The Wilson combat mags are nice. One of the best 1911s on the market. I’ll take this TISAS over my kimber all day. I’ve been eying one of those raiders.

    I have an EBR I've built over the past few years. I have both variants of the upper handguard as well as the Larue mount, multiple barreled actions in different chamberings. Like you said, I have other rifles that outshoot it but the EBR is my favorite to shoot and look at.

    Great review! My M14 rifle experience goes back to my 20 years in the U.S. Navy where M14's ruled when I was serving on aircraft carriers during which the crew got a chance to fire M14"s, M60's ("Pigs") and M1928A1 ("Ma Duece") at floating big red "tomatoes" on the fantails of the U.S.S. Ranger (CV-61), U.S.S. Kitty Hawk (CV-63) and U.S.S. America (CV-66) during FAM fire exercises... I got lots of trigger time on the M14 since everyone else wanted to shoot the M60 or "Ma Duece"... this lead me to get 4 M1A's from Springfield Armory which consist of two National Match rifles, a Scout Squad and a SOCOM 16...nothing like .30 caliber bang bang when surrounded by water or .50 caliber when more reach is needed....

    Good, honest review of a good rifle. IMHO, it's not the GWOT, but it's a good rifle. Really glad you were honest about the weight. I had put an Archangel chassis on my Scout/Squad and actually had consistent sub-MOA groups with my hand loaded 150gr FMJ, but it was too heavy for me to consider it a field gun. Back to the factory Springfield synthetic stock, that I moded out myself, and it's back to being my heavy field rifle.

    I bought one recently and I completely agree the socom barrell was not working out for me either. I thought that was just a random thing cause I had never heard of the barrells being no good so I'm kinda happy it wasn't just me not liking the barrell. I swapped the barrell as well and I can get like slightly over one inch groups out of it now and with the stock barrell I was like struggling to even get like 2.5 moa outta it

    • @TexasDefenseArticulations
      @TexasDefenseArticulations 12 дней назад

      @@Andy0950 I woulda been a lot more happy if mine would have done 2.5 moa, but it never got close and would randomly shift. Smith said they could try and tune the barrel up, but there were no guarantees, so I went with the swap.

      @@TexasDefenseArticulations when I say 2.5 I mean like I was able to get that about 10% of the time hahaha it wa typically like 4 moa

    Smith Enterprise is the best M14 armorer on the planet, and that M14 EBR trigger shoe makes a world of difference. That barrel whip bump-stop screw is beneficial with standard weight 22" barrels, shorter barrels and medium weight barrels are more rigid and less prone to barrel whip.

    It's not hard to understand why , soldiers didn't want to give up there M-14 in Vietnam for the M-16 , it's classic , the E2 stock is very interesting in it's concept of use . Similar to the B.A.R. in the light machine gun role in full auto originally the M-15 .But incredibly it seems to fit the D.M.R . Role also , just plain Kool 😎.

    I hadn't seen the Smith enterprises EBR trigger shoe previously. I'd like to know how that compares to the one I got. I picked up the Shootingsight trigger kit and it's great. After tuning it a bit, I accidentally got the pull weight down to a reliable 2.5lbs. I'm not sure if it was made to do that but it resets nicely and has the right amount of pull. I think with a 16" and a red dot it might be nicer to set it a little heavier, but mine is a 22" and the feel is nice regardless of how you set it up. After hearing what you said about Criterion I think I might end up getting Fulton to do some work to mine as well. It'd be a shame to have such a precise trigger without a barrel to match.

    Something I ran into in addition to the stock liner, was that the trigger needed fitting. I had to remove some material inside the stock to get the trigger to fit and sit correctly. The biggest issue was that I could not close the trigger because the relief in the wood for the area around the magazine release wasn't cut properly. So it displaced a critical part of the trigger assembly preventing the lugs from locking into the receiver by the mag well. I filed down the high spots which then allowed me to fit everything together. When I got the stock, it did not have a liner. I actually had issues with the Fulton Armory one and it required some heavy filing and material removal. Rather than butcher the liner I got my hands on a USGI surplus liner and that fit significantly better. No modification needed for that part. I guess not all stock liners are created equal.
