    Great point about ball position, which is important not only back in the stance or forward in the stance, but also important if you are standing closer to the ball or further from the ball. Mike Adams believes he can measure various parameters on golfers and that will tell him what is the best way for that particular golfer to swing. I would love to see you make a video on that topic regarding Mike Adams.

    • @liongolfacademy
      @liongolfacademy День назад

      Hey Steven, the measurements are nothing new in the golf swing, TPI has been doing this for 20 years. The thing I am not a fan of with Mike is he can be condescending and seems to reveal a fairly basic concept as if it was scripture, I don’t think he is doing this on purpose but I have heard him at our PGA meetings and he did the same thing. The one main thing he completely overlooked is ball position, and you can take all the measurements and make adjustments in setup you want, but if that ball position isn’t correct to your measurements, it throws off all forces. That to me is more basic knowledge than measurements, and the fact he completely disregarded it concerns me which is why I made those points. All respect to Mike, but maybe he assumed since he was talking to pga instructors they already knew, but it should have been mentioned as it’s on RUclips and it’s irresponsible (in my opinion) to not address that knowing average golfers would watch.

    Not the biggest fan of Mike Adams but he's one of the most successful golf coaches on the planet, from a college scholarship point of view. Also, if I heard correctly isn't he talking about ground forces? So, there's vertical up and down, horizontal left to right, horizontal toe to heel which combines to create torque or rotation. What am I missing? Is there another way to push into the ground. Please forgive me I'm just trying to learn not trying to upset anyone

    • @liongolfacademy
      @liongolfacademy День назад

      The point of the video started as a watch along but that was so boring, and I’m not a fan of how condescending Mike is with people at times, and knowing me I would have shifted focus to this. He gives a 15 minute speech to pga instructors about forces and completely misses ball position in the video which can and will dramatically affect the forces. Sorry if it was confusing (the point of the video) but it is what it is 😂.

      I agree with Mike's attitude. I do think for golf instruction to improve in the modern age we do need more whistle blowing. Sometimes I think coaches are protected species where they can say whatever they like and other coaches just put their heads down. Keep up the good work

    So, if I recall correctly, I got a D in geometry, had to take algebra in summer school cause I failed it, and wasn't even eligible to take physics (which most of this is) because of my poor aptitude for math and science. Somehow though, I kinda got all of that. I'd suspect an athlete is gonna find a way to apply most of these forces well if they 8:03 set up in a way thats good and appropriate for their natural motion. Masterfully done

    • @liongolfacademy
      @liongolfacademy 2 дня назад

      Thanks Joe! Yes the bottom line is you can break any athletic motion down to physics and it becomes overwhelming. I fear this is the direction that golf instruction is going. It needs to go the other way, it is just an athletic motion, and we need to teach the basic fundamentals to promote these natural occurring things. If you can throw a ball, you can swing a club. We are not out here trying to break down the physics of a child throwing a plastic ball, so why do we have to get so detailed in golf. It is just a game..... lol

    I never even realized that 'cut a rug' reverse hop Scottie pulls off until you zoomed in on his feet. It seems to be a more subtle, less pronounced version of Lexi Thompson's reverse hop. With the way that he can maintain his posture through the swing while momentarily losing ground contact, then still consistently rack up all of that analytical stat data, makes it all the more remarkable. * Ninja Turtle Green, or Kermit🐸Green, or Dr. Seuss's Grinch Green --

      Hey Milton, thanks for the line suggestions! Yes it is amazing the quality of shots he pulls off with his swing. It should give many hope, and also open many eyes to the fact that positions can be overrated, we just have to work with what we were given and make the best of that motion without a total overhaul of our natural motions.

    Tiger initially changed his swing because he had difficulty controlling his distances as his face was pretty shut at the top. He could hit shorter irons in a variance of 15-20 yards because of this so it was harder to dial in. Harmon fixed that by getting him completely neutral at the top so he was more consistent in distance and also didn't have to manipulate his hands to hit it straight. That swing was the best swing in golf history. Had he left it alone he might very well have over 25 majors and 100 regular tour wins.

    • @liongolfacademy
      @liongolfacademy 3 дня назад

      It’s hard to say with any certainty. Tiger is a product of his perfectionism, without his constant need to improve and learn he would not be Tiger in the first place. He won exactly the amount of majors he was destined to! Thanks for watching.

You also have to remember the tournaments he wasn't competitive in at all while he was transitioning in these different swings. He would have been trouncing everybody during those periods instead of wasting time messing with his swing.

    This patterns back in vogue eg DJ Hovland etc Trevino had some of this “Lowers rate of closure” “improves face stability to hit starting lines” “takes left side out of play” Yeah maybe for u 😂. I’d be all over left side w that grip and face at top ain’t no way Wonder what will be popular in 5 years

      Its just like fashion man! Our old swing from 20 years ago are coming back in style! One more go around and 60 years later they will be back in style yet again! You can Frankenstein me back alive and I can go on tour then.

      Ohhh maybe we can get it to be “Gorbachev Red” when you wrote code red, I right away thought of that movie with Sean Connery where he played that Russian submarine captain in Hunt for Red October

      @@liongolfacademy how about crazy Ivan red. A crazy Ivan is the submarine suddenly navigating in a circle to clear its baffles. Whenever you draw a circle it could be in crazy Ivan red and show a picture of Sean Connory in his Russian Sub uniform from the movie

    Sean Foley is a career killer. He saved Tigers knees so he could destroy his back.

  • @Blingem14
    @Blingem14 5 дней назад

    Funny thing is how bad tiger has been since he started changing his swing. Butch had him winning the masters by 12 strokes and Tiger left cause he had to find something else. His detriment was believing there had to be something else to change. He couldn’t be happy being the best of all time. If he had stayed with Butch who knows how many majors he would have. He could have left Nicklaus in the dust. After the injuries, i get something had to change. But putting on all that bulk was also a detriment to his new swing. You don’t need bulk to swing faster. In fact, just the opposite.

    • @Nogame7_Cards
      @Nogame7_Cards 5 дней назад

      "how bad he's been since changing" That is the King of relative terms. Bad for Tiger still means multiple majors.

      It’s so hard so say would have could have as we don’t know. I will say this, it is a part of Tigers personality, his constant need to absorb the knowledge of those around him, once he absorbs all he can, he is off to the next. It’s what made him Tiger. So to be Tiger, that part comes with the territory. If he did not have that to start with he wouldn’t have made the tour. He is a perfectionist, and is a double sided blade. You can’t have one without the other, so…Tiger has exactly the amount of majors Tiger has. He is where is needs to be.
