Hypertube Networks Part 3: Hypertube Accelerators
A tutorial on building hypertube accelerators and how to integrate them in an Awesome Hypertube Network - or use them as Hypertube Cannons - in Satisfactory Update 8.
See chapter marks below to jump to a specific section.
This is the last video I have planned on Hypertubes - did I miss anything out, or would you like more detail on any part? Please leave me your feedback and let me know what you would like to see me cover in future videos.
This video took *even longer* to create than I had originally planned - apologies for taking so long! Did I mention I have too many hobbies?

Hypertube Networks Part 2: Junctions - Satisfactory Update 8
Просмотров 36 тыс.9 месяцев назад
A tutorial on building hypertube junctions for an Awesome Hypertube Network in Satisfactory Update 8. See chapter marks below to jump to a specific section. The new Priority Power Switch in Satisfactory Update 8 (currently in Experimental Build) is a game-changer for making a fully controllable hypertube network, allowing a route to be pre-selected through remote switching. This video covers a ...
Hypertube Networks are Awesome in Satisfactory Update 8
Просмотров 39 тыс.11 месяцев назад
Satisfactory Update 8 (currently in Experimental Build) brings a lot of changes with the update to Unreal Engine 5. Hypertube Accelerators, previously a happy accident of the old physics engine, are now a supported feature in Update 8, but there's more in Update 8 that significantly advances the capabilities of making an Awesome Hypertube Network. This is the first time I've made a video like t...

    Okay so like this video quality is like really good. The bird's eye view, the measurement editing, fantastic. I'm not a fan of every Satisfactory youtuber showing off their mega factory beautiful designs with Helicopter Aerial Camera shots that you see in network TV. However, when we got to the actual content, you were easy to follow, you made sense, you proved and showed it working, and the edits helped a bunch. High quality content! Feedback :: Music Volume is quite loud when you're not talking and slightly too loud when you are talking. I'm turning up the audio to hear you over the music but then when you stop talking, the music gets louder and I have to end up juggling the volumes. EDIT: Definitely wanna see how you got such good speed in your hypertubes. I've added a "cannon" in the middle of a tube (not actually launching us through the cannon) and it only gave a minor boost of speed or it only gave speed until we had to go up. Additionally, my friend in multiplayer has an issue when he enters a hypertube that causes his player data to teleport to the end of the hypertube without visually traveling - have you ran into any significant bugs while setting up your Hypertube network that we should be aware of?

    I'd be curious to see the effect of network latency on Hypertube Accelerators and Hypertube Cannons as I mostly play on a dedicated server and seem to have issues with my tubes about 50% of the time.. Either falling out of the tube, falling under the world, or getting disconnected entirely. That said, your compact factory blueprints are also of great interest to me! I dig your videos and eagerly await more. Cheers!

    I never thought about this before but now I want hypertubes that still fling you across the map but having junctions instead of a ton of entrances everywhere it’s very interesting that you can have one hypertube a 8th of an millimetre closer and it always goes for that one

    Really cool system Probably going to have to figure out a way implement this in my current game (pretty fresh) My only issue is the need to actually run wires to them so I can't just rely on rail power.

    I really think hypertubes are underwhelming in the base game, and functionality like this should be added to it. The devs should add hypertube junctions and faster hypertubes to make them more functional. Even with this delightfully clever design, you can't do what I'd want to do, which is a hyperloop which will push you onwards in the loop by default, but you can hold left to exit the loop at any junction. This design requires you to choose a destination prior to entering, and have a complex series of remote switches to pop you to the correct exits.

    These are awesome, I'll defiantly be implementing my own version of these in my saves. Also, it was hard to watch you struggle with the hyper tube cannon. I guess that's the point of blueprints but a faster and in my opinion more efficient way of building them is to place all the supports then on the way back place all the tubes in between them.

    • @DortamursHobbies
      @DortamursHobbies День назад

      Yeah, I'm hoping they fix that default hypertube angle bug in 1.0. I don't think you can make cannons as compact without building them this way though, as you need a tube between two supports with no gap. That's the beauty of blueprints though - do something fiddly once, and then easily replicate it as many times as you need it!

    The timing is quite helpful. Now I know the best amounts to use these for. Also the right way to build them One thing that doesn't need a video, but is good to know: I gather that there is a point where a cannon is too big and shoots you out of the world and kills you. How many accelerators does that usually take?

    Wishing for these "chokes" and "burbs" to disappear entirely is a stretch I think. In my book hypertube accelerators aren't intended game mechanics. Going this fast across the map can't really be expected to be "butter smooth".

      These were a bug in the early days of Update 8 when it was still in Experimental - the buffered loading is *much* better now (as seen on my later videos) - although there are still bugs in the current version of Update 8, since they shifted all focus to releasing 1.0.

    At fast enough speeds, your player body can collide with objects beyond the hyper tube entrances. You can try removing the walls on the hyper tube pieces in the intersections if you keep losing your speed. I had something similar happen to me. It was because of a metal pillar I had about 10m past one of the Y intersections. Another way to fix this is to angle each of the entrances one tick upwards so that your player body gets shot into the air in the split second before it gets sucked back into the hypertube

    I have three hyper tube cannon boueprints of varrying "strength" which are powered by biofuel generators, so even if Im not on thr power grid, I can just load a pellet of solid biomass into each generator. gives plenty of time to go through the canon before the fuel burns off. They're super fun to use!

      I think the idea is to reduce power usage when you're not using the hyper tubes. So all the hyper tubes on the network get their power through a couple batteries that you charge for a few seconds through a priority power switch. Though maybe it's just the accelerators that are on the separate grid

    • @quantumxalt2834
      @quantumxalt2834 14 дней назад

      @@skillfulfighter23 I'm well aware, in fact I've found a better solution atp: Circular hypertube accelerators only use 3 entrances for as much speed as you'd like, so they can basically stay on forever
