The hardware gives the Low Mid Warmth due the Hormonic Distortion that the Plugin just cant do...Acustica's Nickle could have gotten alot closer

As a bedroom producer I know it's not necessary to buy all these equipment but it sure looks fun to do it the analog way and still getting better dynamics

Yeah, the Shadow Hills plugin dials are some of the MOST detailed animations of any plugin that yes, in THIS CASE I think they should behave identically. With less detailed animations my expectations are lower and I am more willing to just adjust by ear like I usually would anyway.

Yeah, the hardware is pretty well invisible. Or- it imparts a certain sound from the get go that never waivers, which over time would render the same effect.

Hooray for technology. In my experience this should be applied to taste though. 100% inphaseness can also be weird sounding!

Question: why when recording everything thats on the console back into the box engineers record 1 track at a time thru the stereo bus vs direct outs for each track to save time or your method 💪🏾Thanku Sir

I think your initial test was flawed to begin with because instead of increasing the gain on the compressor to get a similar input volume as the hardware, I think you should have done it on the trim on the console . Likely since it's analog and going out to the hardware, if possible, the signal through the insure is at a different level than staying directly in the consul using a plug-in. You should've equalize the gain using the gain control in the console, going into the plug-in rather than just increasing the gain on the plug-in. As an experienced pro engineer, you should understand that gain staging is one of the most important things to do and you neglected to compensate for that so to me this test is completely useless.

So cool procedure that i have problems too with the analog mixing gear. Thanks for sharing.
