Tom, if you ever get a chance to do a behind the scenes tour, I think you would enjoy it. You cannot take pictures or videos so it wouldn't be something you can share on here, however. I did this tour on the Constellation, and we went through the crew living areas including the mess hall and one of the bars called Mingle. You see many crew appreciation boards recognizing crew members and everyone was all smiles. I feel that they enjoy working on the ship and Celebrity treats them fairly well. We visited the galley, the laundry, the engine control room and the bridge. Those two areas are very high security, and we had to pass through metal detectors and were escorted by a security team member. Below deck 0 it is a whole other city, and you really get an appreciation for what it takes to run the ship and keep the guests happy. It was amazing.

I was on the Tropicale when we went through Hurricane Waldo. Pretty wild. At one point the captain did a jog and we got broadsided and tilted pretty far. All the tables in the casino were completely cleared. I had a pic of me holding a beer and the beer line is about 30 degrees.

I don't think so. Was on Edge for back to back to back - with the first and last trips in the retreat. What we found was the food in the 4 restaurants were as good if not tastier than what was in Luminae and Aqua. The service was a bit better because there were more servers, but the difference wasn't great. View is nice.

I’ll only go on a cruise if I’m guaranteed to have a balcony view to watch people left behind. Oh, and a bucket of popcorn to enjoy the festivities even more.

Some interesting points and useful info presented here. Thank you. We sailing on this ship next month in an infinite veranda cabin. I'm betting it'll be OK, given it's not going to be in a hot, humid area. Don't see myself being a fan of this room type, but it's better than an inside cabin for me. Have never and will never book an insider cabin. I need natural light or I go crazy. Vampires would like otherwise.

Went just to the cruise port area in November 2024. I would never go there again. There were quite a few skin care shops where their employees were aggressively pushy to try or buy their products it made it extremely unpleasant. They would stand outside insisting you take one of their skincare samples. If you take it they try to convince you to go into their store where they deceptively try to get you to try more products and I understand that if you try it they will then make you pay for it when they make it sound free. When we refused the lady started shouting at us "Don't you care, Don't you care?" she was referring to don't you care about our skin not to be interested in their products. This was not just at one store it was all the skin shops.. It was really awful. They bullied people to try to get them to buy.. Then we walked by the area where the flamingoes are. I felt so sorry for them. One looked very sick. And they have them in a very small man made concrete pool, no food in the water all day. Very unnatural. If they open their wings you can see their wings are clipped so they cant leave the area. They did not act normal. These birds are not being treated well. We had wanted to go to the aviary but seeing the flamingo's completely put us off from going. I'm sorry this is not a good review. but the experience was awful. If we went on another cruise and it stopped there we would stay onboard.

Just seeing this for the first time. I have sailed the Retreat 4X with another one coming up in a month! More expensive? YES! But absolutely worth every penny and then some. One should be pampered on a long awaited vacation and the Retreat delivers every time. The only way to go.

In Reality you should be back 30 minutes before cutoff. Dont put yourself in a postion to be left behind. I domt know why people think the ship is gonma hold up for them. (Only exception is if it's an excursion provided by the ceuise line)

Great video, Tom! You sure can sell a cabin on a cruise ship! Booked in a Concierge stateroom for February on the Edge. Shall see how that goes. The Suite is on the bucket list for sure. Thank you for inspiring me.

Can anyone confirm: if you have a "one device" plan like Princess Plus, can you switch between your phone and your laptop? Not using them at the same time, but logging out of one and onto the other.

I love a good thermal suite but in order for it to be good there has to be some kind of therapy pool/whirlpool or hot tubs. I think $220 for a week is fine but I've seen it on my recent NCL cruise for 399 and I think that might be a tad too much. Anytime I book Carnival I get a cloud 9 room. MSC has the best thermal suites I've experienced but I haven't been on Celebrity before.

Do you need to make a reservation for Blu? If so, how do you do that?

The cruise ship (fat ferry) sheeples get off of one group tour and jump on to another. Wow,….never ever an option for me. I have travelled all over the world and seen and done so many amazing things because I refused to be a sheep in the heard.

I just booked a stateroom with balcony. Have option to choose my own room. What do you recommend? I prefer not too crowded or noise.

I saw the Beyond in Cartagena on my recent cruise. It even showed up in Panama. I think my next cruise should be on an Edge class ship. Beyond is my best bet in Florida.

id rather stay on my billion $ ship and get spoiled by the crew.
