    Not sure if this was true in 2017, but now you can create tags that start with @ such as @phone and Nirvana will understand them as contexts and automatically add them to the list of filter buttons at the top of the page.

    It is now 2021 - 4 years since you made this video. Are you still using it? I know you said you didn’t like the list based uninspiring NirvanaHQ, but equally they way you have set up TasKMeister to work with GTD seem incredibly bulky. The who process just looks painful. All that side dragging. I have so many projects and tasks that I think it would become a ballache! I wish you could drag and drop onto all the different sections spanning just the one page - and not scrolling horizontally what seems to be for eternity. Then scrolling to another horizontal area for projects etc. So please, can you provide an update. Do you still use it? Anyone else - what’s your experience - is it as bulky as in this video? By the way, thank you for making the video though.

    Thanks for great video and love the use of tags in your system. It does clean up the interface closing all the other tabs other than Saved Searches. However, when selecting one of the Saved Searches it opens the menu list back up again highlighting the Notebook searched. Is there a way to only see the notes search for yet keeping the menu list closed and on Saved Searches. Seem to defeat purpose if after each search the menu list needs to be closed up again. Maybe I missed something, thanks again!

    I've been using evernote for several years but I'm new to GTD. Spent this past weekend researching techniques and reorganizing my notebooks (100 notebooks and over 1000 notes) into a better hierarchy of stacks, naming conventions, etc. Then I started getting confused about how to process the inbox, actions, projects, etc. Your video was PERFECT for where I am in my restructuring and GTD methodology. The use of TAGS and SAVED SEARCHES totally saved my day. Yours is the first I saw that explained how to get to zero inbox. I also hadn't created a separate note for each little task I need to take, but rather have kept several unwieldy TO DO lists. Your system of making a note for each outstanding task works perfectly. Thank you for all the help.

    So it is now October 2019, are you still using this method on a daily basis? I am in the same boat, very visual, like lists to keep track of projects and tasks, want to incorporate GTD, however not good at follow up. This method looks fantastic for my needs. Have not seen a post in a while, would very much be interested if there was a full template showing all of the automations. I am trying to create the exact same setup as you described, however having an issue with the software upgrading my status to the Pro level, so currently, am not able to use automations just yet. Thanks again for the post!

    Thank you for a very indepth guide to using MeisterTask as a GTD app. How do you get your tags to remain in place when moving tasks between projects? (e.g. from inbox to backlog). My tags disappear after moving them. This happens both in version 1 and 2 of Meistertask. ... ah... I can see this issue has been addressed via previous comments.

  • @robertkok5468
    @robertkok5468 6 лет назад

    Tags are individually assigned to a single project and not global. Tags disappear when moving tasks between project that do not have the same tag structure. Easiest way to solve this (and not mentioned in the video) is to assign tags to one (template) project and duplicate this project.

  • @robertkok5468

    I saw your MeisterTask video and as a long time Nirvana HQ user also wanted to check out your Nirvana video. Both are awesome! Some tips & suggestions I would like to add having used Nirvana for some years. For first time user definitely check out the Quick Guide which can be found on help.nirvanahq.com/category/quick-guide/ It is one of the best tutorials I've seen for a task management app. It has videos (with sound) explaining how the app works on desktop and mobile and also lists all the shortcut keys. When you scroll down to the bottom you can select the next chapter in this tutorial. Some tricks I discovered from blogs and forums and are little known: Tags to use in Rapid Entry The following tags only apply to the Rapid Entry at the top (when enabled) and are not used when creating a "New Task" or "New Project”: #focus / #star: puts your task in the focus list #next : puts the task in the next list #someday : puts the task in the someday list #project : makes the task a project #due today #due tomorrow #due thursday : adds a due date #due dd mm / dd mm yy (with or without spaces): adds a due date Any of the contexts or areas that you have set up can simply be 'tagged' using #context or #area. So if I have an area named 'Personal' and a context called 'errands', then I can write something like "Pick up batteries #Personal #errand" and a new task will be created using whatever screen is currently active. Sum Estimated Time Find out how much time you need to complete a series of actions. Assuming you’ve assigned estimated Time (effort) required to complete your actions, you can now multi-select + right-click and look in the popup menu to see a quick tally of the time necessary to get to done.
