I have my box built to jl specs for this sub ..but I still feel like my box should be bigger my rockford T1 was in 3.4 Cubic foot of air space and I feel hit harder than my w7 that being said the w7 is the cleanest bass I've ever heard point blank any ideas peeps should I swap boxes

This is so interesting because I've been sort of looking for this to comment about to find out why anyone would put two or more subs in any kind of box, with no dividers (not you) at all and expect it to sound tight, low and not bottom-out the subs, whereas if each sub is NOT in its own chamber, they can all work at slightly different rates and intensities, etc., due to just not being ABLE to work in unison. Someone below commented on this and I was like 'Yeah!' It is 100% obvious that they are not working in unison and if the cabinet itself (even wires) AND the divider within is not solid, sealed with silicone and has NO leaks from one sub to the other, one can be missing out on the instantaneously-combined cone area available. Subs out of sync do not offer maximum punch. A divider update would take NOTHING away from each sub's internal playground. I do not mean to preach butt I think it'd be really cool to have someone test this out, and to THEIR benefit. A comparable effort would be to just use TWO identical boxes a couple feet apart - connected 100% in parallel - NOT from separate channels. Else, still very interesting.

I had a ported box in my car for my JL W6V3 10 inch which I’m using in my truck now but it doesn’t sound any where as loud as it did in the car I’m thinking about getting a sealed box now for the truck it’s an extended cab 1500, do you think it’s gonna be louder with a sealed in the truck?

That thing is crying for a ported box. Sounds so much better and is way louder. Tune it to about 26. Plays completely flat from 20-80. Amazing sub in the right box.

Sealed box sounds killer you really get what the sub will do without air moving out with a port I use sealed boxes as well with the rite air space and power the sub will perform like it supposed to but killer vid
