Sorry man, I have no intention of misleading people. I write music inspired by nature and particular places, I then record the music in that space. I definitely don't call them improvised anywhere and I usually put something like "written for" or "sequenced on" in the video. I do sometimes call them "synth jams" in the title though, and I agree that's a silly name as it's not a 'jam' in the traditional sense. But that just seems like the terminology the internet has chosen for a short performance on some gear, so in the interests of feeding the algorithm 'jam' is the term I use (though perhaps I should avoid it from now on). But I guess I just assumed most people realise when they see a machine like the OP-Z in a video that there had to be a load of sequencing done before play and rec were pushed. Just for some transparency on how I work. Each video comes together in a slightly different way, but most commonly they happen like this. I go on a holiday or work trip somewhere, I see some beautiful stuff I want to film/photograph and also feel inspired to write some music for it. I will maybe start writing right there and then, or will head back to the tent/airbnb/hotel or wherever and write there. Once the music is written/sequenced on a device I then go back to the location and record several takes of the tune. The takes do have a certain amount of performance to them and I'll try bits in different orders, different parts muted/unmuted, and trigger effects differently etc. I then use the best take or splice a couple of takes together to make what I think is the best arrangement for the tune. Sometimes I'm lucky and I have enough time to luxuriate and write the entire piece of music in the location, rehearse it, and record it all right away in one sitting (for example my last beach OP-Z video was like that) but often family duties means I don't have time and need to work on it a bit more piecemeal. In the case of this video these mountains are quite near to my home and I hike them regularly, so I actually wrote this at home between hikes and knew at some point I'd get back out and have an opportunity to record it. Normally I'd write a slightly longer description for the video detailing how I made the track, but honestly for this one I was so tired after getting up at 1am for a dawn hike that I just threw down enough words to appease the algorithm then posted it. Anyway, I hope that clears it up. Sorry again if you feel mislead and thank you for watching.

Thanks! I can't remember exactly how long it took but my best guess is maybe 6-8 hours. I remember I stayed up way too late working on it one night. Filming and editing took quite a lot longer, but I'm definitely not as competent at that stuff.

Thanks! I made that drum sample by sequencing a breakbeat with one of the stock ableton live kits, processed it to give it a retro vibe, then chopped that loop on the OPZ. Was pretty pleased with results so thank you for saying.

Maybe a lowpass filter for that vibe?
