Touring the Yard with Crew Lead Mike
Mike takes us on a tour of the Seattle Tree Care yard and we discuss a job we did earlier this year. Mike is on light duty for a couple weeks and has been helping operations with the day to day around the yard. It gave us a chance to chat with him about a job we did in White Center where he took on a locust embedded with power lines.
Hear first hand what goes into the day to day and some of his thoughts on that job. You'll also meet the newest addition to the Seatle Tree Care family, Wesley, our new Operations Assistant.

Shoreline Washington: 125 Foot Coastal Redwood
Просмотров 4,8 тыс.28 дней назад
New intro to get things started before Peter, Arne, Noosh, Banks and Russell take down a beautiful coastal redwood. Sadly, this approximately 50 year old tree wasn't planted in a spot conducive to a long life. When this 125 foot beauty started spreading its roots it was quickly discovered that the surrounding structures would suffer the consequences. After a dispute determining the tree had to ...

Acer Macrophyllum or Big Leaf Maple. Our Pacific Northwest Maple is the largest of the species. We were honored when the University of Washington called us to remove this historic tree from the grounds after it failed and almost fell through Hansee Hall. After an informative safety meeting, Peter, Arne and Russell head out to take down this future catastrophe, a fact discovered once the tree wa...

The next job...that's pretty incredible production work. Well done!
It's kind of nice not having a chipper to feed
Stop using big words! Make it simple.
Good work guys. Quick question...on your intros, is it a "Rainwaters Ink production" or should it be "Rainwaters INC"?
Great work fellas!
Expect the unexpected.
im alone in my tree company, and i'm defending don't have a boat 🤣
Haha...goals!
@@SeattleTreeCare but i'm struggle with getting customers, i have had my company for over 5 years now.
I was recently visiting Seattle and enjoyed the variety of urban trees. What a professional business, from be behind the scenes to production work. I would like to see videos on a variety of interview topics, such as growing a business, keeping a high morale, marketing...with Peter. He is clearly a lead from the front (by example) guy!
Amazing operation! Lots of moving pieces. Lots of upkeep and maintenance. Great people working there. Very intriguing how the business does throughout the ebb and flow of our seasons. No one that I know of in the South sound can support ops like that. So kudos to you guys.
Wish I didn't live so far from you folks. Seattle tree care seems like an awesome company to work for! Keep up the great work you guys.
We're glad you think so. Let's us know these videos tell our story and it's well received! Thanks for watching!
I hate to sound like the typical armchair schmuck, but i think I'm heading towards a bandit. Lots of broken vermeer equipment here in boise...
What an awesome tree ! Good work.
Thank you! Cheers!
We're so many occupations when we're "tree guys".
100% Fact.
So beautiful.
Add some dang big bears right there
Nice Job Great work and not panicking
You in the 100 acre wood? Haha
Didn't want to ask if it's name was Winnie.
И безтрашен
What a MESS. That grapple looks pretty handy
What a shame. I see this a lot in my area of the state. The city will plant the tree, forbid a homeowner's removal, and abdicate any responsibility of maintenance.
What part of Washington was this?
Those are some big'uns! 😮
Great video! How long were you in the tree peter?
@@McTree2013 I want to say he was up there for about 5 maybe 6 hours.
There's turnover, then there's moving on. Both sting a little
Were is this video i musta missed this but need watch it sounds mental. A thought the rockey horror picture show was a horror but this takes it 😲👍😬🏴

@@SeattleTreeCare thanks 👍👍
Wicked project dude. I actually thought when i seen the red spice jar lids thought you was gonna make some lego brick spice boxes think that could be cool. Hopefully catch you live soon. Been to long 🏴👍
Exceptional.
I love it 🫡
You need topless cheerleaders.
Love the video👍 STAY SAFE
Hard work an dedication always pays off.
I love peters attitude. I own a smaller tree company. And anytime I feel like I’m going to get mad, or lose my temper I just think of Peter and how positive he always is. My way of running my business has improved and smiles on the job site have also!
Thank you for the comment @troutbumdiaries. I believe positivity on a challenging worksite like this one is a huge part of getting it done. I wish it was all smiles and no frustrations though as yelling and anger are definitely something I have had to understand more and work on. The combination of taking responsibility for everyone’s safety, financial responsibility of a job, and who knows what else while running a small business can really raise the stress level and things get heated quick🥵. At the end of the day though it’s about caring for people and being kind, that goes way farther than anger ever will. Im still learning big time and have a long ways to go but taking that first step towards checking your emotions before flying off the handle goes along ways. Thanks for your comment!
I like the new intro. Wish that wood was milled privately to create some tables and chairs Great climbing Peter.
Thanks! We added some new people and a couple others moved on…intro needed an update.
Amazing. The coolest is that Peter has time climb. Would like to build my company up like this!
Not only a job well done, but an exceptional video as well
I’m from Virginia and i am a logger saw cutting timber and been in the tree work for quite some time, a tree that size what is a rough estimate price for cutting it down and removing it. Don’t really know the west coast tree market
Thanks for the comment, this one was just over $10k 👍

Gotta protect the environment or there wont be any trees to take care of. Thanks for watching! Your name 'longboardin1', is that surf or skate?

Great job brother

The best! It was surprising to me because when we rolled up in the am I thought to my self: no way are we going to be able to remove and haul that away AND grind the stump out so I called the grinder off. Tree was down and out by 2:30 so we added in the grinding that day. Wow! What a team. I am so grateful to get to work with trees like this and help clients.
what video is that with the 3 chippers? looks insane 😀
That's the Chipper Challenge. You can find that one here: ruclips.net/video/jhflWd8Kfjg/видео.html
@@SeattleTreeCare thank you
Man make longer video's
Would love to but it's really hard to find that happy medium between too long and too short. Now we let the job dictate how long the video is. If the content is there we make the videos longer. We started shortening them because people weren't watching a full half hour. Check out the first 5 or 6 videos in the Seattle Arborist Playlist if you want some longer ones. That playlist is here: ruclips.net/p/PLt5Wvx9rCIF35YGTkBLxVxmZ0pEXZQJzw&si=M8mZqhiwDFZ0z4oq
View duration will always be low. Most people jump around during the videos to see the key moments. I get about 11 min of view duration on a 30 min video. If I make a 15 min video, I can expect the view duration to be around 8 min.
@VeteranTreeService myself I watch the full video of ever RUclips channel I watch

Nice job. It’s no a species that we have here in the UK - is it really brittle,? It does not seem to hinge well
That’s correct. Does not hinge super well. Beautiful trees for sure though!
It drives me crazy when a manager puts on a fake happy voice.
Nice job fellas that was cool. I didn’t know. Big leaf maple was the biggest maple species!
Seriously right!💯 Very cool trees!
🤘
Another nice removal job. Thanks for the reminder on the chippers and how shrapnel could possibly come back towards you.😉👍
Be safe gang!! 💙💚
Bro! I want to come climb with you on one of these jobs! Being able to just smash shit down and have the grapple vacuum it all up has got to be so much fun! Love how you were stacking your butts out even though there was no chipper🤣 #branchmanager
