Gran Canaria on a Ducati Monster - Day 2: The entire GC605
I went on holiday to Gran Canaria and heard lots of amazing things about the island and the riding there. So I rented a Monster from Canari Ride and went for an explore!
This is part 4 from day 2, where I ride the entire GC605, instead of continuing down the GC200 to the coast (as that part isn't very exciting). The first half was pretty cool, climbing up the cliff with some great views of the valley all the way up, whereas the second half is a sh*t show due to the horribly broken tarmac. Fortunately it's only a few KM, so it was still worth it :)

Bit of an update since last time, what I want to do in 2024 and also having a massive rant about SUVs 😅 Excuse the washed out footage... I finally have some ND filters on the GoPro, but ND8 is clearly insufficient for that level of sunshine!

Hi mate can you share this route?
@@Nyez sure, I've added a link in the description! Hope that helps!
@@toffcookie1234 Thanks! I found some parts already based on a few villages. But this is even better!
Hello your microphone picked up the BMW r9T gearbox changes very well and it sounded very clunky! Is the Triumph a smoother gearbox? Thanks for uploading!
@wakajawaka44 it sounds clunkier than it is, but you can definitely feel it. The Triumph feels like butter in comparison, especially with the quickshifter. Not quite honda 4-cylinder levels of smooth I'd say, but I like it like that 😜
@@toffcookie1234 Thanks for the speedy reply👍
My bros got me the red one and I god dam love it it's the most beautiful best feeling bike ever 😍😍😍😍
Triumph changed the internal gearing for this model vs. the 2022 so that first is taller and 6th is shorter -- and everything else is tighter in between. Additionally, they went one tooth down in the front sprocket and 2 teeth up in the back from 2022. These changes translate into propelling you forward with more authority, as you stated Interesting note: the top gear is at 5500 rpms at 65 mph on the Street Triple whereas the lower revving and smaller Trident 660 is only at 5000 at the same speed. The Trident is no slouch but the Street Triples' lower gearing makes it super snappy and quick.
How tall are you / your inseam?
@bop2864 I'm 175cm tall, inseam is 30inches or so I think. Got relatively shorts legs, but I can get my feet down no problem 👍
Erster
New camera location?? Btw i miss the Triumph sound, I've heard tractors with better sound than that Ducati
@kevinlopezquinones1462 it's a rental bike and a rental helmet, hence the lack of commentary and different view. Next time I'm in GC I'll take my own helmet with me and ride something else... the Duc was OK, but no Triumph.. :P
👍🤪🏳️🌈
Finally a review done on the CORRECT type of road! NO freeway. No city street. Great video!
Be careful on the twisties.
Nice road and scenery.

For new rninet owners… you need to blip the throttle on downshifts to prevent the harsh engine breaking. It’s not a bad thing. There is a small learning curve but it’s actually very fun because of the extra pops and bangs. (I switched from a Suzuki GSX R 750 to the R Ninet because I mellowed down and wanted more comfort. I still love the character of the R Ninet very much. I own it since 2017.
Funny, I did the exact opposite. I was obsessed with the new Street Triple, but after a 30 min test ride, I went back to the R nine T. The Triumph was twitchy and highly capable, but it felt like an unnatural fit for everyday road riding, especially the forward- pitched seat and short wheel base. I've had classics as well as Aprilia Touno and Ducati's, and the R Nine T, seemed to hit the perfect balance. I don't have to go fast to enjoy the ride, but I can if I want to. I am sure you will enjoy your new bike, seems like you want that little extra.
you will regret it ....
@@inoiamds Ha, not one bit, the streety suits me so much more 😁
man, the irony of crashing your bike on a bike safety course.... I sometimes worry that my riding skills are degraded having gotten used to the rider aids also
sounds like there was something wrong with your r nine T, you dont even look like you ride it that hard,
From a fellow owner ,F yes describes this bike to a tee.Stay upright.
I feel ya. But: Boxer/Kardan muß man können. Remember: God rides a Harley but the devil rides Triumph. 😎

Hab gleich endlich meine erste Fahrt. Bin so aufgeregt 😊
Let's goo! Been waiting for a vid haha!
I hope these last a bit longer than the Rosso 3. I'm just hitting the center wear marks at around 2700 miles (1k cc bike). I like that the 190/55 and up sizes use a triple compound. I nearly went with the corsa version, but I figure I won't be making it to the track in time to justify the purchase.
Riding on those with road work going on...now it's time for you to add a Tiger 900 rally pro to your stable!
My friends are planning for us to go up the Grossglockner pass. I was sceptical seeing that cobbled road. Is it to jarring? Doable if the roads are wet?
Yeah not a problem I think, even in the wet. Only tricky bit is one corner near the top that has some insane camber as far as I'm concerned.
You seemed more confident in your Pirelli Rosso 4's here then in your first video in the wet. Granted the bike and tires were brand new so you understandable had to be more cautious but the difference in your riding is night and day here. I bought the same bike as you have, in red even and would like to change my stock Supercorsas for something that can handle the wet roads better as I'm going to tour the Dolomites next summer. I've had Diabolo Corsa 4's on my previous bike an MT09SP and it felt good in the rain so maybe I'd be buying those again for this bike. What's your experience with them so far and would you buy them again or go for something else when they wear out?
I may try the new Michelin Power 6 next. My mate had the 5s and drove the same in the wet as he did in the dry at only 5-8°C in the mountains, which I didn't feel as comfortable with. Granted, my tyre pressures were kinda low, so perhaps that contributed to the slight uneasy feeling I got from the pirellis in those conditions. When it's over 15°C they're great even in the wet though!
@@toffcookie1234 I'd be coming over in Summer so temperatures shouldn't be much less than 15 degrees even up in the mountains. Think I'll stick to the Pirelli Corsa 4's as some of my friends running Road 6's love their tires but have been more prone to getting punctures which they attribute to those tread patterns.
@stephenspiteri_zunkus Ah not sure about the Road 6s, although I watched a review saying they're almost too wet focused. I mean I might try the new Power 6s (got presented at Eicma), based on how the Power 5s performed in the mountains. Worst case I go back to the Pirellis again next time, none of them last far beyond 6000km anyway 😅
Good 👍 Triumph is more interesting...
Wot o eini.
You completely misunderstand the purpose of a bike that's designed as a US type "Cruiser". What you are seeking is cutting edge "Hard Pushing" performance in the turns, the last 10%, that you get with a Sport Bike. This bike and it's design won't give you that. Come back to the bike when you mellow out on your need for speed in corners, want to slow down and look around, stop and smell the air and flowers, instead of bending a turn like Beckham. Maybe when you're 60 to 65 years in age, the bike will be a better fit for your riding style. Own a 2018 Sport Glide, tried to like the BMW R18 Bagger, but I just couldn't handle the foot peg position being 6'5" tall. Test rode a R18 B in the Black Hills of South Dakota, USA, loved the large displacement power and torque it generated from the 1803cc motor, but it strained the flexor muscles in my hips in short order. Reconsidered and test rode a 2023 BMW R1250 GS Trophy model, much like the Rallye, but loaded with almost all top of the line options. Seating arrangement, while tall and a bit of a stretch to get on the bike at first, is top notch for comfort and doing long rides, touring also. It's just a great bike and fits me very, very well. Just love it!, Engine is so smooth, suspension is so plush on poorly maintained and bumpy roads.
I hear you. Sold my 2020 R1250RT about a year ago. Wow, what a mistake! I’ve repented but think I’ll go with the 1250 or 1300 GS next time. Now, the question is whether to wait for the 1300 ADV? 🤔
This content is awesome. I would love to take a motorcycle tour over there, but I probably don't have the kind of coin it takes to properly do it. Your videos do it justice though, man. Nice work and thanks so much for creating them. Your channel deserves more subscribers.
lol. i just traded in my gsxr750 for r nine t :)
hehe, same... well, it was my intention, but can't let my GSXR70K8 go just yet 😝
May I ask you What is the seat height of R NineT? And I'm wondering does an R NineT suit for short rider? I'm around 166/167 CM.
I'm not sure what the seat height is exactly, I don't have the bike anymore. But I'm 175cm with relatively short legs for my height (30" inseam) and I was easily able to get both feet down flat with a bend in my knees. I reckon you'd be fine, but maybe just find a dealer and try sitting on one?
It will fit you i am 165cm and i ride a r1250r it is higher i also test ride a ninet it fits me easyly

Have you seen my other videos? Have it since July haha, no crashes so far thankfully
How could you not like that yellow, it looks awesome especially Vs the gray and red colour scheme 😴
I think it looks cool, just isn't my personal favourite colour 🤷♂️ I agree on the gray though, the silver of previous models was much nicer
👍
Schön, schön!
I did the same thing, impulse bought a '22 xsr900. I made the mistake of test riding the new RS😂 sold my XSR after a few weeks. Now I'm just waiting for the delivery of my Silver Ice STriple RS.
Oh interesting! The XSR900 always seemed like a viable alternative (except the new one, don't like the 80s styling), what were the main differences that made you switch?
@@toffcookie1234 riding style mostly. And it looks like an unfinished bike, unlike the RS. But the cp3 engine is great. Some may love a torquier engine , but I like my ride smooth so it's a no brainer for me to switch.
@@bulatengbusog8607was it mostly the aesthetics that convinced you to go from XSR to 765 RS?
