Glad you enjoy how lucky you are
i love them early morning cruises gotta love the water friend
Cool Fish
Nicee
Nice catch
Did you go with the standard.125 gauge hull or upgrade to the 3/16?
Standard .125
Just a tip, you may want remove your prop and grease it with marine grade grease now. I bought a strike from GT about 3 years ago that I tried to pull the prop and universal hub off about 8 months after I bought it and ended up having to cut the hub off. Also, I would recommend buying the quicksilver (by mercury) universal plastic hub that is the same dimension as the Solas universal hub that comes on the boat from GT. The Solas hub is too stout, and will bind in the hub making it nearly impossible to remove (I found this out the hard way). The quicksilver hub is plastic and will discentegrate if you hit something solid, which is what you want.
really nice very simple........???...how is the floor, is there a lot of flex
What does she draft at loaded down with gear and full tank ?
Whats the draft on that thing? Shit gets down to 8 inches in some areas in south Texas in a lot of areas guys pass through
Sick video buddy keep em comin!!
Thanks Pal
Sup buddy. My SIL got a camp in LA now. Need to catch some with you
Shot in the dark you answer to this but I see you mess around in south la. I hunt Venice and all other surrounding areas. Looking to get a gps mounted on the mud boat for navigating at night. No need for all the other crazy stuff. What would you recommend?
I personally like Lowrance, simple to use and I like the standard mapping card. You can find one of the Lowrance models at a decent price. Check with Bass Pro or Cabelas if you can, they usually have sales on them from time to time. 7 inch screen would be ideal in my opinion
@@lainshore-brandonmaskew so the standard mapping Louisiana card is just the high resolution imagery right. None of the other stuff ?
@@connorpower8488 standard mapping card is just simply an overlap of maps. Like looking at google earth in a way instead of cartoon graphics. SD card you insert into unit that uploads maps
How fast is the boat?
Mid 30’s loaded down with gear and full tank(12 gallons). I’ve topped it out at 38-39
It’s a shame to put a 90 hp on an 1860… Quit being a cupcake and put a one 140 or 175 on it
Yeah!!!! I love the boat too man!!! I got me a 1754 GT model with a hunt deck. I currently have the mudbuddy powerhouse on it but differently looking at the 70hp Suzuki . I do a lot of fishing out my boat too. I'm out of Iberia parish let's make a trip soon😉
Congrats. I love my 21' Navy Blue Strike Series. They build a heckuva boat!
Is it worth the money for north Louisiana? Looks like it was mostly built for navigation in the marshes. But would be nice if it had routes for red river and WMAs up here
Honestly I don’t know if I would go with Standatd mapping for north Louisiana. You may be better off with some other programs, would save money too
How fast you running with that 70? How much rigged out like that?
Boat runs mid to upper 30’s depending on load. Boat cost mid 30k
Nice rig!! I am thinking about getting a very similar rig. How stable is it fishing on the front deck? I was thinking going wider for more stability.
Thank you! Stability is not an issue for me. Two people can fish comfortably on the front deck. Walk around all over the boat and it’s as stable as a rock. Most of the time it’s just me fishing, but I can very easily accommodate 1 or 2 more people. You can’t go wrong with a GatorTrax
@@lainshore-brandonmaskew Thank you very much!!
@@lainshore-brandonmaskew I know its been a year but I wanted to know how you are liking the boat? Any issues? How's the motor?
@@411sponge72 still runs like a dream. Motor runs great, no issues at all. Wouldn’t change a thing about it
Nice red
Thank you
Is the a large mouth bass? its a lil different from the Italian large mouth..
Nah that’s a redfish
@@lainshore-brandonmaskew Redfish, hu?..but what family is it..? Couldn't really tell if your sea fishing.? Or lake, fresh water?
@@lainshore-brandonmaskew it looks like fresh water fish 🐠..so..?
@@jackrussell1960 Redfish aka red drum. Brackish/saltwater
@@lainshore-brandonmaskew btw, Redfish is a common name for several species of fish. It is most commonly applied to certain deep-sea rockfish in the genus Sebastes, or the reef dwelling snappers in the genus Lutjanus... But again, it looks like fresh water 🌊..
I want an 18x60 with either a 70 or 90..... won’t have much of a load but want the open floor adaptability. Was gonna go mud motor but not after seeing your setup!
Don’t go with a mud motor! I used to have one on my old boat! You will be much more happier with an outboard!
👍👍
Don't you think thats too much water slap noise for fishing?
Some people may prefer a quieter boat, but the water slap has stopped me from putting fish in the boat.
Louisiana fish are evidently deaf lol. First thing I thought as well!
Just baught the la one card last week , my map turns pink and blue when I zoom to 1 mile! Smh! Does yours do that? I shoulda went with nav platinum for half the price
Yes mine does that as well. Mapping doesn’t change, only the color
What bait were you throwing?
Flashy spinner with a (white)matrix crawl and Delta Lures Spinner
What length shaft did you go with on your trolling motor? I just put a deposit down on a 17x54hd last week.
I think it’s a 54 inch shaft. You are gonna love the 17x54hd. Plenty of room, just a good size for an all around/do anything boat. You going with an outboard or mud motor?
Awesome! I can’t wait to get it. I went with an outboard 75hp Mercury with a jackplate that has a kick up on it. I live towards east Texas & couldn’t really justify having a mud motor as a primary boat.
@@austinraymond4216 same here. I had a mud motor on my last boat. Definitely enjoying the outboard more with this setup
Im glad to hear that. I’ve never owned a mud motor but highly considered it. Is there anything you wish you would have gotten or changed now that you’ve got your boat?
@@austinraymond4216 as of right now, no there isn’t anything I wish I would have done differently. I almost had a polling platform put on the back, but I’m glad I didn’t. I feel like that would have just got in the way more than anything. I can always add to the boat later on if I decide, but I’m happy with it right now
holy shit that GT is rollin son
Oh yeah, smooth ridding too!
@@lainshore-brandonmaskew what year is yours? I’m looking into a 15x44 when they slow down
@@hash_slinging_slasher7765 2021. I literally just picked this rig up almost two months ago
@@lainshore-brandonmaskew I called them the other day said it would be about 30 weeks. I think I’ll just wait
@@hash_slinging_slasher7765 yeah I imagine they are gonna be backed up for a little while
What spinner are you using?
Delta Lures
👍👍
What did she cost? I want something similar for crab traps and just messing around in... thanks
Everything you see here plus the casting deck not shown run me around 33k. However that was before the cost of materials went up over the last couple months. I don’t know exact amount, but I’m positive this build would cost a little more right now
heck yea man nice redfish
Thanks bro
Fish bites 1:15
Whats the max hp rating on this boat?
Off the top of my head I can’t remember the “max” rating, but I have seen this same boat with a side console with a 115 on it. I’ll find out and get back to you
Nice. This is about the same layout im looking for. I'd like a rod locker and livewell/ice chest though. Very nice rig! Gator trax boats will last a lifetime and then some.
@@danieldee1841 thank you. I’m enjoying it so for. Just an all around well built boat
👍👍
What size is your trolling motor? What height are the sides of your boat?
80lb thrust, 52 or 54 inch shaft I think? 19 inch sides on the boat
Is there a way to hide those routes and only show them when needed?
Yes, go into chart options. Turn off navigation aid I believe. Should remove the routes, but you can turn them back on when needed
I’m looking to buy a card for south la also as we speak! What’s the difference in the standard vs the premium besides the added safe routes?
I have the same unit as you
@@reddawng43x91 that’s really the only real different between the standard and the premium I believe. I know the premium also shows WMA’s. I don’t think the standard card does. If you don’t need the safe routes, in my opinion just save the extra $100 and get the standard card
@@lainshore-brandonmaskew the wma boundary’s woulda been nice for when I bow hunt the atchafalaya delta , but for $100 more I don’t think it’s worth it
What kind of speed are you getting with the Suzuki?
Mid to upper 30’s depending on load. I’ve topped it out at 38. Loaded down with fuel, fishing gear and cooler it will run 34-35
What kinda speeds are you getting?
Mid to upper 30’s depending on load
Sweet boat! How do you like that Suzuki?
Thank you, so far so good. It does well on that boat
