Please release an offline installer for portmaster first.

Port master doesn't allow my laptop connect to my phones internet data. unless I change the DNS server option from cloudfare to adguard. Please is there a better way to do this or is this ok?

Downloaded. Installed. Without touching anything, immediately lost DNS service. No more internet. Took an uninstall & 45 minutes to fix. So, no thanks.

thanks for the software but I still can't figure out how to get the other devices on my network to connect to my computer. I have selected "allow lan" in "incomming connections" and it still does not work.

How to allow all the connections from a specifically program? Like creating an exception for VLC, EMBY or any server/streaming at local ethernet.

When I first heard about this on RUclips I thought they said portmaster was bought by PIA and thought ugh I'm going to have to delete portmaster lol. But then I realized it was bought by IVPN and now I am very interested to see where it goes. I use IVPN also and consider it to be as good as Mulvad VPN. Very privacy oriented. I'm anxious to see where it goes 👍

It is sad...love SAFING. I've been looking at the IVPN site and blog and feel a little better. This video was a nice, very much in character with SAFING's MO. Like Viktor's shirt. There seems to be confict with kaspersky and portmaster.... Should work as not everyone is in the USA. You guys don't have a right to take away user choice and make it so we cannot use both at the same time.

I installed Portmaster but it seems that it runs after a couple of other apps that first connect to the internet and is not filtered by Portmaster at the beginning. Is there a way to make sure that Portmaster is running first on your PC?

Find it ironic that the VPN killer got bought out by a VPN company... Seems like IVPN wanted to gain from Safings reputation. Feel let down :(

hesitantly supportive of this. I don’t like the idea of portmaster being bought out and then managed by an entity other than safing, but the trust i had in the safing team still exists and if y’all think is nothing but a good thing then i’ll believe it.

I just wish there was an alternative for Android. Id love tonhave this on my phone.

I love that these guys are holding it down. Portmaster is great. Ive done some reverse shell testing on methods that can bypass windows defender but Portmaster will block. Beautiful.

Has this software stopped being updated? The interface I looked at many years ago is still the same. It would be nice if, when a program/application wants to access the internet, it would ask the user for information such as the location of the program on the disk, the IP number it wants to connect to, the domain name, whether it has a digital signature, the name of the manufacturer, etc. I am currently using the free version and the notification settings seem insufficient to me. Isn't it possible to improve these? By the way, I would like to thank all the developers who contributed to this wonderful software. I hope this software will be developed more. It is a wonderful thing, I enjoy using it. I am thinking of buying it after trying it for a while. I would like to thank everyone who contributed again, for saving us from the exploitation of Windows.

I find myself rapidly switching inbetween port and sniffnet, and here's why. Sniff cant show the website url hiding behind it's cloudflare ip like port does, but sniff does let u sort IPs by total data transfered, a basic ui feature which port seem to lock behind a paywall. and maybe this is just placebo, but I almost feel like sniff is more immediate and 'realtime' in showing new IPs, while port requires u to press the refresh button rightafter u visit a new webpage before it showsup

It did not keep me from enjoying the stream - nothing much can, but there was a noticeable underlying noise with the audio this time around. Pink/Brown noise mostly with some modulation.

Thanks, though when I turn off global incoming block, remote desktop still doesn't work. IWhen I turn off portmaster, RD works. Could you help with what to try next?

Hello. Hoping you could answer a quick question (well maybe 2, LOL!). 1) We use a DDNS service with a hostname/domain name. So when connecting remotely we use the assigned domain name. Is it possible to create a rule that allows connections only when connecting using that domain? I've tried nearly every possible combination that you list out in your incoming rules section, but no luck. 2) Also, is there a way to delete just one rule in a grouping--it seems that if two or three rules are grouped together, all have to be removed? Thanks in advance!

this very interesting program, it would be good if you had the option to put it in spanish or in another language.

Since the SPN obviously adds latency i can still watch 4k HDR content from Netflix. Using CTRL ALT SHIFT D confirms this as it shows every aspect of what you`re getting from Netflix at any given time. If im downloading a large game patch, i toggle off SPN and with a GIG connection up and down the patch downloads very fast, once done i turn SPN back on. Portmaster isn't perfect, one example is the refresh rate of the network activity NEEDS to be configurable or at least increased drastically. But from what i understand Portmaster is still in its infancy and i respect what they have accomplished so far with the SPN. Im excited to watch this product grow and ive subscribed to pro for a year to help support the development. Thank you Portmaster/SPN team!

anybody who has never built their own account or payment service will never understand…given limited resources, i’m impressed that your redisgn will still be self hosted tbh. personally i think features like mobile support would be a higher priority.

The question about paying for Plus monthly could be a result of the checkout page not being clear. The page indicates you can select a number of months to pay for with the default being 1 month and the Purchase button looks clickable even thought clicking it has no effect. Not until you click the discount area, which seems optional, does the text change to how many years.

The import/export mentioned here as a soon-to-be-released feature has come in handy for app profiles that have a lot of rules. I'd copy the export to the clipboard and use a remote desktop tool to paste into the import window.

I agree that PortMaster free provides a lot of value. Having played with it now, I also agree that the network history is a feature worth paying for and it's a good place to draw the line for the first paid tier to support future development.

It's fun hearing about the major features you planned to add and knowing that you did :-) And you were right that the history module is a big deal.

The learning mode you two described sounds very helpful, but as you said the backlog is long :-)

Privacy is important, but I think many of those people looking into PortMaster are entering the "journey" from a stronger interest in security. That's why there are often comparisons with tools like simplewall and glasswire i.e. firewalls. Your customers might be telling you their interest by their choice of Plus vs Pro. Subscribers with Plus may actually represent the security-centric folks. The Plus subscribers may not just be people that want to support you or just people not able to afford Pro.
