Awesome food pantry haul Merry Christmas 🎄 ☃️🥳🥂

The only senior food pantry we have is the first Tuesday of the month seniors can go first between 10:00 and 11:00 after that it's everyone this pantry is twice a week you can go once a month. Because of hospitalization and Rehab I have not been to a pantry since the middle of September we don't have any that will drop off at people's homes

Maybe freeze some of the pancakes mix?

Ok how have I never thought savory waffles with stuff in them?? I’ve done savory dishes with waffles but the waffles were just plain. Brilliant, I know what I’m doing over the weekend.

I am not sure why people feel the need to make videos about their foodbank boxes. Do they not really need this food is that why we are celebrating this. There are many people who truly need this food, they can't dehydrate it or make juice as they are hungry.

I find your channel very inspiring. Being a full-time caregiver is not easy. I know, I've been there. But to see all the cooking and food preservation you do on top of taking care of Gramma is amazing! You have helped me to begin the journey of becoming a better steward of the food I have access to. I am often times ashamed of the amount of food waste I have had at times. Thank you and Gramma so much for sharing and for providing me with a good chuckle or full-blown belly laugh in each video!

Poppi is amazing! As a Dr. Pepper and Cherry Coke fan who had to stop drinking soda, Doc Pop and Cherry Cola from Poppi are the closest I can get to my former caffeine kicks. They are expensive, so I’d rate that #1 for my food bank haul.

Do you not blanch your potatoes before dehydrating? It not only stops the greying but also decreases time n the dehydrator.

First time finding you…What a great haul you received. Our food bank gave us a 7 pound turkey breast, a tray of baklava pastry from a Greek bakery, bag of chicken thighs w legs as well as ground beef and eggs. So generous ❤

Roast, fruit, bag of potato chips, celery, dry milk are my faves. I make hot chocolate with the milk. I chop the celery and put it in freezer. You have an amazing food bank.

When I was working I used to buy the krusteaz pancake mix and it's delicious I hope you enjoy it you and your family and happy holidays

I don't like the dark meat either. What I do is cook it all up (they like to give us 5lb bags of frozen legs/thigh). I then do bone it into a bowl and do a pot of broth from the bones (I add in onion and carrots and seasonings) and then I can the chicken meat in the broth in pint jars. I use that for chicken soup, casseroles, casseroles, and pot pies. That way I don't notice the dark meat so much. For chicken dinner I only want breast meat.

i have frozen my refried beans in burritos, but never by themselves. i also prefer the canned chicken.❤

My neighbor who is 62 lost her husband last January so she will be spending Christmas with us my daughter is going to fix some appetizers and dessert no need for a big meal

I miss going to the food pantries not able to leave the house since the middle of September hospital stays and rehab. Our local pantries do not deliver to seniors or those that are not able to make it to the pantry

There’s a lady on here that gets food bank hauls in when she cant use all her lentils she grows them in pots and feeds them to the chickens🎉

That Poppi prebiotic soda is my absolute FAVORITE! I usually treat myself to one a week because they are $2 each. I guess it supports the gut.

Do y’all get senior commodities. I get them and my mom gets them too. It’s a great help. We get milk, sometimes dry sometimes fresh, cheese, peanut butter. Chicken tuna or beef in cans juice cereal rice beans pasta and some canned veggies fruit and usually tomatoes or pasta sauce.
