I do not sell these wreckers. Contact Jobsite for more information. I love this wrecker because it does not swing. It also does not constantly hit you when you break or accelerate. That is super annoying. I have had mine about a year now. I have travelled around 10,000 miles this year with it. Love it.

You need a heavy spec to make a dump truck. Just because you say so does not mean it is. This is why people get killed on the roads because of this garbage. No double frame, no heavy front I beam, no heavy rears. All that weight you will break something. This is why you don’t take a road tractor and convert into a dump truck. So many ticking time bombs on the roads.

You have no idea what you are talking about. This truck will have a 50,000 lb gvw. I have 35 years running this exact set up. 12, front 40 rears 5,000, steerable drop 55,000 gvw single frame. You should travel a little. There are many types of dump trucks. Not all are double frame. 20,000 none steer drops. With 18 ft boxes with 80,000 lb gvw. Thanks for your comment.

i made a threaded adjustable brace for open frame rails. it keeps the top of the frame rails from leaning in and bending when lifting. some of the trucks i towed had more frame behind the axles without cross members close. lots of different ways to do the rigging for sure.

I love the design of this. i have owned a couple manufactured 5th wheel wreckers. this one was so much better. that hanging chain system of the protote was less than fantastic. the job site has more fine height adjustments. that is nice. the only thing i dont like about any of them is how far back the load is on your truck it is sitting on. my experience is that it takes too much weight off of the steer axle. a longer wheel base truck sure makes it nicer.

Have you taken this on the highway and hit any big bumps in the road? I’m only asking because the gap between the rear frame and the bar looks like there is a lot of play. And could you grab this same truck from the front with this lift?

You could from the front but you would demolish the bumper. Thats why we used to have slings. This is a modern twist on a very old system. Its fun to do, but I definitely enjoy having a standard hydraulic underlift and frame forks most days.

I almost always pull the truck from the rear. It’s just faster and I don’t have to deal with pulling axels. I did pull that garage truck from the front because I could not get on it in the rear. I have seen guys pull the front bumper and get on front. I think this wrecker would do a good job pulling from the front since it doesn’t have those chains swinging and trying to eat the radiator.
