BIGYAKR FISHING
США
Добавлен 30 сен 2020
This channel, mainly focuses on fishing in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries in Maryland, although I will try my best to share all of my fishing trips up and down the east coast.
Over this last year I have grown to love Kayak fishing, so most of my fishing videos will be from my yak.
If you are like me you and have less time for fishing and more time to watch fishing videos this channel is for you.
I am not an expert fisherman and even less experienced as a RUclipsr and video editor. Feel free to post comments and critiques, I'm not easily offended.
Thanks for visiting the channel and please subscribe

Late Fall Kayak Fishing for Pickerel; Catching Toothy Fish in Maryland Waters
As I always do this time of year, I launched out on my kayak in search of the biggest Pickerel I can find in my surrounding Maryland waters. As the water temps get colder the Pickerel bite starts to heat up. This trip was no different as I fished a tributary off of the Severn River where I caught my first Pickerel several years ago. With new lay-downs and structure this spot didn't disappoint. I hope you enjoy the video

Kayak Fishing for Tautog in a Rough Long Island Sound. Took All Day to Catch our Limit of Blackfish

This is another trip to the eastern end of Long Island in the Long Island Sound. This was a long trip on the Kayak that started out with me losing 2 anchors, dealing with rough water and cold conditions. Luckily as we got into the afternoon the sun came out and the winds calmed down. We were on the water all day but did get our limit. These tasty fish were worth it. I hope you enjoy the video. ...

Nice Video! Thanks! Are those the NRS Boundary Boots and what do you think of them for pdl kayaking and also surf casting?
@@rickytube1970 yes they are the NRS boots and I can’t say enough good things about them. You could def use for surf casting but just note they come up to right below the knees. I also would not wear them if you are fishing from a jetty, not sure they would do well on rocks. But from the beach would be perfect.
@@BIGYAKRFISHING Awesome! Thank you for the reply.
@ thanks for checking out my vid
Nice job getting on those TOG!
Thanks, I want to get out with you on those drum trips at the wrecks. Loved that video.
@BIGYAKRFISHING We will have to do it. I want to make a trip to NY waters to catch some better size Tog.
Rough conditions but at least your trip paid off. Great job brother! 👏
Thanks man. I would have gotten so many more keepers if i didn't lose 2 of my anchors. All my fault by the way.
@BIGYAKRFISHING ahh it happens. At least you were prepared and had a couple different anchors. I usually only take one. Fortunately the areas in Ocean City that I fish I can just attach a rope to one of the piles since I'm fishing structure That's above the water. Did you end up taking this trip instead of Ocean City or was this something from earlier?
@ no, this was planned. Im from Long Island originally and went to visit my parents. The OC trip was planned for when I got back from LI but as you know that wind had other plans for me 😂.

@@kayakfishersofmen hey Tom. It was holding up well. Unfortunately I no longer have the kayak. It developed cracks by the cup holder (another video) so I got rid of it.

Nice video brother! Looking forward to Tautog season coming soon. Your new kayak looks super comfy! Loving the content. Tight lines brother! <O)^^><{
Tautog should be great this year. Thanks again and Tight Lines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats on your new Kayak bro! I have a Old Town Sportsman PDL 120. I absolutely love it, been through rough water, ship wakes and large swells, no issues. Gotta love the Old Town Kayaks. Loving the PDL drive, having instant reverse helps me in the tight spots close to structure. After watching your video, you almost got me thinking to go bigger to the 132. haha Nice video!! See you out on the water! ^5 Tight Lines!
Thanks for watching the vids and your comments. I've use the PDL 120 and now the 132 and would say that the biggest different is that the 132 just cuts through the water a little better. They both have tremendous leg room (I'm 6'3"). Both the 120 and the 132 are so versatile. I can take the 132 in the ocean while also being able to stand up in it while in the backwaters catching those fish that like to hide in the tall grass.
Funny guy! How are you liking your kayak?
@@_yaknfish man I’m loving it. Willing to admit when I’m wrong and I should have never purchased a hobie. These platforms are the best.
@@BIGYAKRFISHING that's awesome. I'm extremely happy with mine as well. Great investment and great quality.
Nice catch, I should’ve taken advantage of Rocktober when I lived 1/4 mile from the Chesapeake Bay, but no I has to take a 20year fishing hiatus. That all changed once I got to Florida 😂

Noticed the same crack next to the cupholder on my 22 outback. Currently in the warranty process. I should probably check if other cracks have appeared...
@@alexxiong7265 yes you should look all around where the seat puts pressure on the hull. Glad you are able to get it taken care of with the warranty. You should be able to strip your current one down and keep the parts as extra. But check with your dealer. Good luck.
Congrats man, you made the right call. There is no comparison between OT and Hobie in terms of durability and quality. These things are tanks !!!
Thank you. I've taken it out only a handful of times but I can say that I love this platform. The second time I took it out was in rough conditions and handled like a champ. I assume you have an OT? Which version do you have?
@@BIGYAKRFISHING i have a sportsman 120 pdl and I love it last time i was hit by 4’ waves from a speeding boat on my left side and it did not flip these things are really amazing. Got a tiny crack under my seat and they sent me a new hull in a week there is nothing better on the market in my opinion. I also got a native slayer 12.5 which i also like and it is high quality but if i have to choose one i am going OT all day long
So just to summarize 1) put yourself between the ocean and your kayak, 2) dont time the sets and count waves per set, 3) get in chest deep water before jumping into kayak ...check, check and check :)
@@paulwlash6882 😂 good summary. each year I learned something new. Actually we came up with an even better system. Wait for the set to come through, jump on the kayak and have your buddy give you a big push to get you started. Usually the last guy is the most experienced 😂.

This is really cool content!!👍🏼 how fast are you trolling in that kayak?
@@edwinvillatoro2397 I usually have most of my success catching stripers trolling at 3.5 miles per hour.
@@BIGYAKRFISHING thank for the reply. I’ve been bench watching your videos of you fishing on your kayak in the Chesapeake bay. I want to try it out in my kayak for the first time. Do you have a certain depth you like to fish? Or are you marking fish in then turning around and riding over them?
@@edwinvillatoro2397 I followed much advice of others fishing mouths of rivers, points and structure. I usually troll to find fish, then try to cast or jig for them. Late summer early fall troll shallow to deep ledges, 4 to 10 ft. Mornings and evenings are best.
Hey brother. Congrats on the new kayak. As you know I am definitely a die-hard Old Town kayak lover. I love my PDL 106 sportsman. I'll be going out for tog in November and that thing definitely gets it done. There's lots of mods that you can do to that if you're handy. Like you can make a custom rod holder by using both rear rod holder extenders. And of course you can always do a trolling motor build right in the center console. But enjoy it and can't wait to see the next video of you fishing on it.
@@_yaknfish thanks man. Yes I should have had this years ago. I’ve already started adding a bunch of the navarre products. I’m trying to stay away from a trolling motor as long as I physically can. I get the benefit but I just like the exercise. Let me know in advance when you go in November. I would love to join you if you don’t mind.
@@BIGYAKRFISHING I hear you on that. I definitely need more exercise in my life as well, lol. I'll give you as much notice as possible when we hit the inlet in November. Totally cool if you join.

No judgement here. I’ve just seen others keep under 30 and adopted that mentality, especially if it is on a fry. Great job on the 34.25. I hope to get one that big some day.

@@alexandremalbec9732 thanks for watching. The fish finder is not very useful for the type of fishing in this video, although it does help with depth so you don’t break your pedal drive. I mainly use the fish finder for when I fish the bay or the ocean. If watch some of my other videos you will see how and when I use it.
congratulations on the dragon. curious about the lure and the fold up measuring board.
The fold up board is yak gear. The lure is a top water lure called the drag n pop. I bought it from a veteran owned company called tactical fishing co. tacticalfishingco.com/ I like trying to support veteran owned businesses and this one actually paid off for me with this catch.
