    I just ordered a cab model. Im thinking more for comfort while on the lakes when ice fishing to keep the wind chill to a minimum and to shield me from blowing snow. The 25 mph maximum should keep me out of trouble from finding open water too.

    It looks so good, I just ordered 2 of them, a 1/2" and a 3/8" with shut-off valves. I need a dependable, easy-use product, to fuel my generators on cold-freezing winter, nasty nights, without freezing my fingers. I'll make a follow-up entry after I use them.

    Thanks for the video Tony. On your split fire vertical splitter video do you like the adaptor thing for the 16" stroke ??? it seemed like your pieces barely fit under the wedge??!! I know this is splitter is in a totally different class but whats your opinion on the split fire vs wolferidge vs axis?? Do you live in Wisconsin?? I see you on videos with Chris from in the wood yard!!!

    • @TonysCoolTools
      @TonysCoolTools 3 дня назад

      Ok Tim let’s see if I can answer all your questions. First I do live in Wisconsin, Chris lives around 50 minutes away. Though the 16” limiter works great not all my wood is perfectly 16” so I removed it for now. With only a 20” stroke I’m not gaining a lot of time back. But if I was splitting 14” wood I definitely would reinstall it. The Split Fire 1165V was meant for the average guy, it’s affordable and fast and will last a lifetime for the person doing 20-50 cords. The Axis or WR17VS are commercial units meant to run continuously. If money is no object or you have a larger firewood business the Axis and WR are the way to go. If you are an average or serious Woodhound the Split-Fire is definitely the way to go. Thanks for watching and commenting.👍TCT

    I have used the Mazdam puller a few times now. Be careful NOT to over tension it. If you’re using both arms and full strength - adjust your target or cut a deeper notch - or wedge it. To release with a back stroke if too taught won’t be easy! I had to call tech support to help me here. They were great.

    I have owned a X7 hatchet for years and it is used constantly. It has never had to be resharpened and it does get used quite a bit in brush and black jack oaks. I believe it was offered with a fixed blade knife that fit inside the handle at one time.

      The X7 is a great combination ax and extreamily versatile. At one point Fiskars owned the Gerber knife company and they were a very popular ax set selling in Fiskars Orange color and Gerber lime green. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT

    The $12k Kindlet 200 or the $20k Kindlet PRO (from the UK) are the best/safest processors for kindling production. This is probably why Dan (Back40 Fire wood) recently bought his "~free demo Kindlet 200 unit" from Wolf Ridge and is selling/shipping heat treated mini firewood thru out the US in small card board boxes. Vertical splitters (~$17k Eastonmade) are just too dangerous (and expensive) for producing short (5-7 inch) kindling pieces. I agree its probably too early to buy "a cheap $4k kindling" splitter at this time, if a special wedge for mini firewood becomes available.

    • @TonysCoolTools
      @TonysCoolTools 7 дней назад

      Gary, I totally agree with you that any splitter (vertical or horizontal ) is too slow and dangerous for larger production of kindling. With that being said the European kindling splitters are extremely expensive and to my knowledge only seem to do 4” to 8” . That is fantastic if we were in Europe with their small fire chambers. Regardless of which kindling machine you look at (Kindling King or Euro models) you really have to look at you customers to justify a stand alone kindling machine. I’m sure there will be more kindling wedges and machines being offered by other manufacturers in the future. The question I pose to you is, other than Dan from Back 40 are you aware of any other RUclipsr that is selling large quantities of small kindling? Are gas stations or super markets offering kindling bundles, you have to ask yourself why? Thanks for watching and commenting, always appreciate other POV. 👍TCT

      @@TonysCoolTools Tony...your videos are just outstanding! I know of no other You Tuber selling mini firewood thru UPS or other postal systems. There is lots of "red tape" required to do this. Producing mini firewood is extremely tedious to produce in volume...without a Kindlet type of processor. Also, it would be expensive to buy due to the time it takes to produce it. No doubt this is why gas stations dont sell it. Dan (Back 40) is a very technical guy, and developed an automated shipping system to reduce the time to get it ready to be shipped out. Few could do that! I once suggested to Andrew Easton that he create a special adjustable kit (metal frame?) to hold and easily rotate a log in his Axis splitter, to make splitting the short kindling much safer. He didnt respond. I personally believe there is a market for burning 12 inch firewood in SOLO stoves, and 5-6 inch mini firewood in table top SOLO stoves. I spent about $2k last year on 2 of them, and am considering a table top SOLO stove once I figure out a good method to produce mini firewood. I bought 3 large Kindling Crackers last year after watching your videos. Thanks for your videos!

    I just ordered a Hulk (Miska) ultra low profile dump. Similar style drop down loading ramps but a lot less angle/pitch for safer loading of equipment. Couldnt find any other trailer that had the extra low profile yet still dumps material for what I need.

      Yes I had not heard of them either until I just happened to stumble across them on line. The Miska brand is their Canadian line. The Hulk brand is the same trailer also built in Canada but imported into Ohio. Their trailers are all sold factory direct, no dealers. I love the extra low profile and the telescopic lift cylinder. The company seems to have very good reviews
