Nobody Talks About This Italian Celebrity Chef On The Strip, So We Will
A Friend of Frankly Vegas foodandwine77 recommended Scarpetta to us several years back. Smack dab in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, we wondered how this seemingly low-key haven of Italian tastiness evaded our attention.
Maybe it's because the Cosmopolitan has offered so many food choices, ranging from the tasty Momofuku headed by a controversial celebrity chef, to their Vegas buffet version of tastiness, Wicked Spoon.
Our experiences in this video were captured during a time when, up until recently, nearly all marketing for Scarpetta avoided using the words "upscale" or any semblance or pretension of "fine dining."

A Holiday Buffet Towering 4,000 Ft in the Mountains over the 🎰 Las Vegas Strip!
Just found your channel. Keep doing what you're doing!
Japanese concept with chinese owners? 🤣
Thanks for such a detailed review!! I felt like I could taste the lobster through the phone! I will be there on Wednesday!! So I clicked where you mentioned getting the 2 for 1 coupon. When I clicked it, it says i have to pay $50 for platinum membership to access that coupon. Is that correct?
The end of the video has me curious! I’m going next weekend and wanna know the unknown features
i love your honest review. i think i wont be going to that place.
My family is Cantonese and I’ve lived in Hong Kong / Guangzhou / SF Bay Area most of my life. Certainly understand that food tastes are subjective, but I’d highly recommend returning to this place. The service has improved significantly since opening. Also while expensive, the dim sum and other dishes I’ve tried here far exceed other options such as Tim Ho Wan and Ping Pang Pong. The preparation at Palette is much more contemporary compared to those restaurants and may not be for all. However, from my experience eating here on several occasions, the food quality is on par with the Dim Sum you will find in Richmond and the SF Bay Area - likely the best you will find in Chinatown Las Vegas.
Thanks for the review, maybe I missed it, how does the fish compare to the UK? Thanks!
Can you please bring a cod fathers to the n west side of town 😮😮
In St. Johns Newfoundland Canada our cod slept in the ocean night.
Something quite Hemingway-esque about your comment :)
How fast do they replenish the Meats? Hate some of the AYCE cuz after awhile, they ignored our Table cuz we eat into their Profits!! ✌✌
They're quite prompt at coming out with requests for more meat.
Prime Rib…total uncooked mess!
Great voice and review! 👌🏽
Thank you for stopping by!
Became suspicious with that decor and those prices. Seem to be catered to the non Asian consumers
We’d think that’s the case, and yet there’s plenty of Asians dining there 🤷♂️
How filling is the food? I plan on going to Vegas in December but is this place 'too filling'? Im worried about feeling bloated on my trip LOL
It’s quite greasy and comes with a ton of French fries or “chips”.
Nice review! Appreciated your critical comments and things to watch out for. Prices seem reasonable, given average cut of beef at the grocery now is ~$14/lb here in Vegas. And you get all the fresh seafood and other items included with excellent service. Anything on the strip would be 2-3x the price for less. 888 Japanese (~$40) or most AYCE sushi places like Neko ($30) give you good value as well for those more cost conscious.
Yea, it’s mostly about setting expectations. Thanks for stopping by
is there a long wait? im going to be in vegas this weekend
The few times we went, the line was at most 4-5 deep, so you shouldn’t need to wait more than a few minutes in line.
In this video he talks about this place palette tea lounge and Dim-Sum,and when I go to a Asian place I won't pay for hot tea,and although the food looks appealing, and the presentation, the flavors don't tell me the whole story, and although the menu is not long, I don't like ordering Dim Sum off a menu, rather I am used to the waitress walking around with there carts, but this place doesn't look appealing, other than the decor, and they don't have traditional Chinese foods, rather more like CHINESE/AMERICAN STYLE, as I like traditional styles, simple and simplicity but looks can be deceiving, but that's OK, because I don't plan on flying to Vegas just for the food, and I don't gamble
Dimsum places which still serve on carts are few and far between to find nowadays. I recently found one in an area of Southern California not usually associated with dimsum, that was surprisingly good. But that was a rare find.
Lobster Dinner - $79.99 Wednesday & Thursday | 3PM - 10PM
Did they bump up the price, no thanks to that one tiktoker who dumped a bunch of uneaten lobster into the trash can?
Id rather have smaller pieces that are easier to eat
As in smaller pieces which are entirely battered all around? Or would fork and knife do?
Ugly decor…..needs to look like an old English chip shop, not Wendys
Are you referring to the interior? The exterior had some promise. But we hear you.
Mostly premade frozen stuffs
Dimsum is certainly better elsewhere.
Looks delicious what location
That would be at the Codfather in Henderson
If they have malt vinegar I will certainly eat there.
They certainly have malt vinegar! And not the usual Heinz brand.
25:35 I went to the one in Chicago and it was disappointing. First of all the wait is super long, it took us 30 min to get on the waiting list and it said it would be an additional 15-30 min but we ended up waiting another 2 hours. If I knew the real wait time we would have gone to another restaurant. When ordering on the ipad, some of our orders didn't make it to the kitchen and we would have to reorder it, wasted so much time because you only get 90 minutes. The food was okay, Korean bbq is way better for the price. We were going to get the membership but after everything we went through the family said that they didn't need to ever go back. Charging full price for little kids is not worth it. Next time I'll buy A5 Wagu at Costco and have some time left in the day.
A5 Wagyu from Costco is where it’s at! Especially when it’s from Miyazaki!
Of course, of course, fresh cod, way out in the middle of the desert who would’ve thought❤
Who would’ve thought?!
nothing says vegas like $24 for that amount of calamari, that dish is almost 1/4 lemon lol
Fair point lol. That’s definitely pricy for that amount of calamari.
So sad that people believe they can sell A5 Wagyu at all you can eat BBQ. I even saw one All you can eat BBQ advertise All you can eat KOBE Beef. Do some research please. Just proves most people just believe what's advertised. Would love to see RUclips that takes samples of meet from restaurant and prove the meat is not what the restaurant advertised.
This makes me wonder if there’s a floor to the threshold of what’s legally considered Wagyu or Kobe and how that tastes.
Have you been to Scarpetta in Las Vegas? What's your favorite Italian restaurant on the Strip?
Sorry to say this. If this is considered the best buffet in Vegas, I don't have high hope for vegas buffet overall. Still good video neverless
Thanks for the compliment! It actually only got silver place for the “best buffet” award. So not Vegas’s best 😂
I was there ounce , way too expensive for my budget !
We see you. You're not alone. Thanks for stopping by!
dim sum in USA is nice.
We’re fortunate in the USA to have good dim sum.
I'm a Vegas local, as well. To me most buffets are pretty much the same. The best are on the Strip...if you want to take out a mortgage to eat at some of them. Anyway....this is the best narration I've heard in some time. Well done.
Thank you for the compliment! Your comment about taking out a mortgage got a reluctant chuckle out of us since it’s so true. Hope you’re keeping cool in this heat!
Great JOB.....Subscribed ....
We appreciate it. Thanks!
Not worth it. Kids over 4 feet is full price!!!!!!!! Ridiculous.
Sorry to hear that.
👍 👍👍 I visited this restaurant in May and agreed the Bun Cha Hanoi was phenomenal 😋
Happy to hear that you liked it!
...jesus. You actually said 'umami'.
Yes we went there :)
looks like a winner
You can’t go wrong here!
Ridiculously overpriced just looking at the menu.
You’re not alone with that opinion!
I think I will stick with 8oz … never had a bad experience, felt rushed
And it’s just on the other side of the building
Great value
Indeed it is!
@franklyvegas it's $33 now but still solid. Aloha night is my favorite. Lunch I'd skip even though it's only $23. No premium meat or seafood
@@VivaLasVegasX We really need to stop by during Aloha Night. Thanks for the tip for lunch, although for $23, that's quite cheap nowadays!
@franklyvegas no prime rib or shrimp during lunch. Pretty much had all the other sides though. I think I posted a walk through video.
I went to their original location in SF. Only went there once and it was good but not worth the price compared to other places I eat at
We haven’t been to the SF location, but we were hoping that it’d be better than the one in Vegas.
Las Vegas dim sum scene is great. This place is just decent.
So many others share the same sentiment. Thanks for stopping by!
Way overpriced dim sum.
Definitely priced on the high side.
Yum Cha is great.
We've heard good things about Yum Cha. Adding it to our list!
Just had this and it was awful
Yikes, sorry to hear that.
Full blood or not, we don't even have anything close to this restaurant serving wagyu for all you can eat in the Washington DC area. We have the chain Gyu Kaku that only serve USDA Choice meat for $60 to $90. All their wagyu are a la carte. Be grateful to what you all got there!
Oh, we're absolutely grateful for what we have here, and for the opportunity to sample & review, and provide our findings to anyone interested. Sounds like you're due for a trip out here! :)
@franklyvegas Was actually referring to the folks who commented that they had better. Like geez, there are many others of us in other parts of the country that have nothing lol. I realized your effort of paying out of pocket to dine and the time to produce the videos. Thank you.
@sinbatsiraseranant1241 It's certainly fascinating witnessing a cross-section of experiences here. Hope you’re keeping cool in DC!
Thanks for this honest review. I saw IG pics of this place and I questioned if it's overhyped. Definitely sure there are better dim sum places in Vegas.
Our pleasure! Our mission is to try to be as “Frank“ and honest as possible. There definitely are plenty of dim sum options to choose from in Vegas.
We went there couple of weeks ago and we enjoyed it. Didn't feel rush or anything but maybe because we went there when it just opened. Have you try Mikiya hot pot which is own by the same people?
A couple of Friends of Frankly who dined with us at Chubby Cattle BBQ have tried Mikiya, and prefer it over Chubby Cattle BBQ. It’s on our short list to try soon.
Great detail.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent review of the restaurant
Thank you for stopping by!
