The Botanical Garden - I was worried about this one...
From release, i loved the idea of this set but was worried how it was going to turn out....
Happily i can certainly say that i love it. Definitely not the cheapest set going around but one of the more visually impactful and 'different' city buildings that I have built.
Between the new roof elements, amounts of minifigures and stories, let alone the sheer volume of plant builds, this quickly became one of my favourite finished builds.

City building finally begins..
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.28 дней назад
After finally getting the train track worked out it was time to get the building back, and how I've been waiting for it. Was all going well until the inevitable roadblock that was hit...actually working out a plan for where things are going was harder than expected. So...back to the drawing board, but isn't that part of the fun? #afol #lego #legocity #cityplanning #roadblock #planning #australia
Finally...The Track is in!!!
Просмотров 720Месяц назад
After months of planning, countless parts orders, hours of building...the time is finally here, the track has been completed. 2 full sweet loops of ballasted track and doesn't it look great. With all this in it means that it's finally time to rebuild the city!! #afol #lego #train #legocity #track #trains #australia #modeltrains #minifigures
Track work update w/ a quick build on the side.

Taking a momentary break from working on the train line while waiting on deliveries, i pulled out the Retro Food Truck GWP from last year. What a fun little build, there were a few small features that made it just that little bit different from other vehicles and it will look amazing in the city. But then it was back onto the track building as the completion of the line moved ever closer. #trai...
Is the new LEGO crane too BIG??

After a few false starts and orders, I finally got my hands on the recently released mobile crane. Hugely enjoyed the whole build process but one thing continued to eat away at me...was this new crane just too big for the city?? #lego #afol #crane #review #unboxing #nsw
Adding a Retired Train to the City
Просмотров 6562 месяца назад
With the tiers now done, focus moved to the train track and powered functions. I have always liked the freight trains so picked up thie retired set for a go. Underestimated how much track came in the box so should now have enough of that, but also didn't expect how much fun the build would be. Thinks are progressing in the city finally. #lego #city #unboxing #review #afol
Leveling up the LEGO City - Constructing the tiers.
Просмотров 1513 месяца назад
Its been a long time coming, but the CITY now has tiers. For so long i had been tgoogling things like "How to Tier a LEGO City", but in the end decided to go my own direction. Doing this enables a full twin train setup to run below the city without taking up any space. I was amazed how well it came together and couldn't be happier with the result. Also may have set an IKEA speed record in the p...

So after jumping on Rebrickable and checking out the MOCs there i found this one by re-bricked and absolutly loved it. Now that its been built, i love it more, check the vid out then jump over to Rebrickable to get the instructions to build it yourself ...
What is a MILS Plate??

Ever since I returned to the wonderful world of LEGO i have been googling terms and techniques more than I ahd ever imagined. One of the things I have wanted to do it to make things easier for others, to answer all those questions I had to look for online. So here it is.....Vid 1 of that, while I am sure most people know how to make a MILS plate....theres no place to start than the beginning......

The end of dust in the LEGO city...

Theres been a growing issue in the LEGO room, the amount of dust has been slowly building up. Perfect time to bust out the Clean My Bricks package i had in the cupboard. go on... and build it your own style... looks good
Thanks so much, just have to put what im imagining down on the tables which is the fun part haha.
Seeing that huge base plate is sooo cool! 😮😮 I love the interior design for this garden. 🪴 so many details in this one!!! Good to know that the top removal able pieces are sturdy. Great build and review!! 👏🏼
Thanks so much. Yea the huge mils plate was weirdly satisfying to make.
HOW EXCITING!! I came at a perfect time! 😁😊 Keep this up! I’m here for the awesome ride and creative city building! Subbed to your channel, my friend 🫡
Thanks so much for the support. Yea im pretty excited abuot things at the moment, just have to get everything i imagine up into reality haha.
If you don't mind me asking, what was the cost of piecing this build. Also how did you get the instructions. Just curious in case I want to attempt to piece together a set some time in the future.
To be honest, i was always afraid of what it would end up costing me so i didn't actually track this one. I know it came in way cheaper than any of the 2nd hand ones i could find though, but it was splie between Bricklink orders and Lego stores plus a bit of stuff i had so i don't have an answer on that one. As for the instructions, im pretty sure i found the on the Lego Builder Ap. Absolutly loved building this one so i highly recommend piecing it together if you are able.
@@Back2Bricks Thanks buddy, I appreciate the info. However, the next time you piece together a build, track the costs if you don't mind. Id love to try and piece a build just would like to know if its worth it. I'll keep an eye on your content in case you decide to piece together another build. Thanks again.
hey man. I'm starting my Lego City. Buying Modular sets. One thing that bothers me is that the base plate of the modular buildings are lower than the new lego road system. Could you make some tutorial video that show all the parts needed to do something like your rased baese paltes. I think thats looks good
Hey mate. When i build my modulars etc i put them straight onto a MILS plate. Saves mucking around with them later on. I actually made a video about them back in July "What is a MILS Plate??". From there i also put my roads on their own verson of Mils plate whuch gives them sidewalks etc. I haven't done a vid yet but I'm hoping to relatively soon. The benefits of doing these are it makes it a lot easier to move around with the plate making it a lot more stable compared to a baseplate, you can also use technic pins to lock it al together.
I think you need a bigger house.
Haha, it's starting to feel that way. A lot of space left on the tables but already having to cut out ideas like a theme park due to lack of space.
Lookin' good! I really like the tiered tabletop solution to integrating the trains.
Thanks so much, yea im really happy with how it has turned out.
It lives!
It was about time, feels like its been ages.
Love the Retro Food Truck.. nice job on the build mate
Thanks as always mate. Have been enjoying your Funwhole stuff.
It's not retired is it? It's still listed on lego website and available in other shops that sell lego
Yep, this set, the Green Cargo train, 60198 is retired. It is still on the website but under the retired category. There is the White freight train, 60336, that is still available although out of stock at tis time. I found this set online at a store that sells retired products.
@@Back2Bricksmust just be different on country but it’s still available in the UK.
This crane is awesome😊
Yea i loved building it, was huge too which was fun.
That is so nice 👍 🙂
Yea i had a lot of fun building it.
@Back2Bricks You're Welcome 🙂
Subscribed great video 👍
Awesome, thanks so much 😃
It's Back!
Sure is, I wish I was able to get the older version too though.
awesome job - Looks great
Thanks mate :D
I actually take my sets outside and spray them with water and use a fine sprayer on the gardenhose or use a plant sprayer. Put my sets on an inclined surface so the water runs off and let them dry for a while. Sets look as new afterwards and it doesn't take much time.
Great idea! I might have to try that with some of the less intricate sets, a few need a good wash.
Nice job - will be fun to see everything set up
Thanks mate, just have to hope that it matches the plans in my head now haha.
that's so much better than the crazy woodworker I've seen other people try. smart idea!
Thanks so much, yea I found that a bit daunting to try so thought this method simplified it a bit while providing a 'finished' appearance.
Nice video man, make some content a bit similar myself and it’s nice to see a different take. Great job!
Thanks mate, i just subbed to you channel, lookign forward to checking some of the vids out.
@@Back2Bricks really appreciate that man, love what you’re doing. Such a nice presence. Keep it up. :)
Nice job on the. Video and MILS plate 👍
Thanks Mark, thought i'd give it a go, think it came up ok.
Nice I want it now thank you to share it with us
Haha no worries :)
3:08 Why do they have all of those weird colours in the base of a lot of Lego builds?
I think it has to do with partly with contrast so that its easier to find the pieces in a bag rather that one of all one color, but also it makes the build more 'entertaining' to build, where as a single color for all internal structures could get boring.
Put a panty over your vacuum cleaner nozzle 👍
Yea that would work perfectly too.
Where did U get it from ?
I grabbed it off their website, cleanmybricks.com/. Although i think there was a link on their instagram maybe with a discount code.
All you need is a reasonably good air purifier. Especially if the room is relatively small and not exposed to "natural" dust sources like pollen or desert sand, the manual cleaning requirement is reduced to almost zero (1-2 times a year). I use a Levoit Core 300S for a 38 square meter (~400sft) room.
I hadn't even thought of that. Might be something to look at in the future though for sure.
Air purifier was a game changer for my LEGO displays as well… Especially the all black sets like the LOTR Two Towers Orthanc and Barad Dur
I recently got a dusting attachment for my dyson and it has been working wonders for dusty lego.
I've tried that in the past with my Dyson, Just thought i'd give this a go to see it the size worked a bit better for the tighter stuff.
Interesting, I’ve been debating getting one of these. Definitely on my list of things to get. Got Barad Dur and all those black elements are gonna be filthy in a few months.
Oh yea, those black elements are going to show everything too. The brushes will be great for that.
Hello from Ukraine! For now, this figure is pretty rare😢
Hello from Australia :D. I actually lucked into it. Was taking a work meeting at home a few weeks later and saw the box and figured that i'd give it a crack...yea lucky i was on mute in the meeting when i saw what it was haha.
damn i was ur 100th sub... after watching your vid how do you not have more than 100...
Oh awesome...thanks so much for subbing :D Was pretty stoked to get to 100. Haha not to sure as for the second bit, there's some amazing channels out there though,
Love this LEGO set - I had lots of fun building it for my channel - Nice job mate.
Thanks mate, it was a lot more fun that i was originally expecting.
Nice! I liked being able to the instructions as you went, some of the sections grew on screen as they grew in person. Very cool 😆
Cheers, yea i was trying to work out how to convey the size of the build a bit and hoped that would do the trick, seems it worked well :D.
Great video and build, how much was it picking everything up by pieces?
Yes, was everything readily available or were there a lot of custom parts?
Thanks so much. To be honest i never recorded the orders, i had planned to but on a lot of the orders i did i had a lot of other pieces thrown in as well, such as the plate in the video so it threw the calculations off. It was definately more expensive than getting the model at the time but so much cheaper than it would have been to get on the 2nd hand market.
I was actually able to source everything from either the LEGO site (for bulk orders/gwps etc) or from Bricklink. I think in the end i came up one piece short which was one of the pots, but I have actually left it as is to be a meory of sorts.
Excellent job. I'm "scratch building" one of these as well. I'm just 14 lots away from having all the parts.
Thanks so much, Oh awesome effort, its certainly worth the effort. So so glad i did this one. I think i almost like it more after the piecing together, felt like more reward from the efforts.
@@Back2Bricks Exactly. I've scratch built other sets like the UCS Imperial Shuttle and it is always more satisfying.
WOW! that looks awesome - I would love to builds this one. Nice job!
Thanks Mark, if you can make it work for you then i highly recommend it. There were some seriouslt cool elements to it not to mention the size.
@@Back2Bricks Yep - I found another Bricklink build I am parting out as a project - But this will be the next set I will try to part out and build.👍
Awesome - this looks great - finally got my hands on one as well
Thanks mate, its a great set, you'll love it.
I don't think people realize how long it takes to make a video like this. U deserve way more views! Keep up the good work.
Thanks so much :) yea it was my first time filming like that, a lot of fun but as you say, was rather time consuming.
nice job - looks good - I just finished 3 Rebrickable MOCs of the Cozy House
Thanks mate, yea i had a look at the vid. It came up so well.
nice job on the build and review.👍
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it.
Thought about getting this but the PRICE! So I thought I will do something similar just smaller and no fancy interior that no one will ever see. Went on pick a brick and after 15 minutes I was approaching 100, after an hour $250 and still needed more. So I stopped messing about and just got it...but it still annoys me how expensive buying parts has become, if only I lived near Legoland Deutschland.
Oh for sure, when i saw it released i knew i'd get it but the price was annoying. I've had the same thing happen to me with modulars. Tried to piece them together with just the exterior stuff to see how it went and you end up over the sticket price pretty quickly.
nice Haul and City is coming along nicely
Thanks mate, yea its slowly getting there. I was actually watching some of your build vids the other day, really enjoyed them. I picked up the camper van after watching it.
@@Back2Bricks Awesome and thanks - The Camper Van is awesome
To me - this Set is much better than the Museum - Awesome job on the build.
Yea I’m a huge fan of it. I put it off a little bit thinking it may not be as good..never happier to be wrong. There were so many things i loved about it that i couldn’t add it all in though.
Awesome job on the build and the review - Subbed so I can check out more builds from you soon. Cheers
Thanks mate, glad your enjoying them
Got a new fan here!!
Always great to hear. Thanks so much
