Просмотров 362 тыс.Год назад
A special thank you to the Shearwater Aviation Museum for allowing me access to their photo archives for this video. And although Canada doesn’t exactly have the largest military in the world, it’s often forgotten that Canada once operated aircraft carriers. In fact, the Royal Canadian Navy has op...

Honestly it makes sense why thee Canadian military has seen a decline. Canada is located in North America. To the South is America, to the East is the massive Atlantic Ocean, to the West, the even larger Pacific Ocean. The North is basically just a frozen wasteland, practically impassable for any large military. Its a secure and cozy corner, and its super easy to get complacent as maintaining a massive standing Army durring Peace time is insanely expensive, not to mention everyone in politics views Foreign Relations (Like power projections with the military) as an expensive luxury thats hard for them to justify, as its often unpopular with the voters.

A dutch sun company of shell, named le Caronella, build 9 merchant aircraft carriers (known as Mac vessels) 5 of these sailed under the dutch flag, and 4 under the British. And one of the collosus class ended up with the netherlands, and ended her career in Argentina.
