Fantastic to get a review of something very much off the normal reviewers radar. Well done Rob, this sounds like the tip of an iceberg coming out from China and that should be ringing alarm bells in Scotland and further afield.

Rob, your contents is excellent. You have great charisma and communications skills. Your knowledge and research are top notch. Most of all, your tasting notes descriptions are probably the best on RUclips. You are less than 100 subscribers short of 1000. Can I ask you, why then do you choose to record your reviews in an empty sterile and lifeless room, devoid of any colour or content except a white table with bare white walls, and place your microphone in the worst possible place one could possibly think of, picking up all the table noise and religating your voice to the background? Are you playing some kind of a social experiment on us? Are you trying to go for that brutalism / Orwellian dystopian look or are perhaps trying to hide your whisky review activities from your wife? Chas VeShalom, I'm not telling you to surround yourself with barrels or hundreds of whisky bottles and neon lights, but this white room gig is not doing you any favours. Might I suggest you look at another very modest whisky review channel called "Whisky Lock". He also uses a plain room but conducts his reviews on a nice oak table and has placed a simple notice board on the wall behind him with peeled off labels from past whisky bottle reviews. Simple, cheap but effective.

For the first time in my life I now know what you are experiencing when you are reviewing this Sherry bomb. I have been enjoying the M&H Apex Single Cask Kosher PX Cask and the tasting notes are pretty much as you describe here. I spoke to Tomer Goren, manager of M&H last week about one particular style of whisky which is still unavailable in the Kosher market, that is the Peated Ex-Sherry Cask single malts, and to my delight he told me that they are working on it and hope to have them bottled soon. So, I'm looking forward to knowing what the likes of Kilchoman and Lagavulin Peated Ex-Sherry cask expressions are like. I have criticised M&H in the past for trying to make the best Scotch Whisky possible in Israel, instead of trying to make Israeli Whisky with its own character, as the Golani and Yerushalmi distilleries do, but in truth, I am an absolute hypocrite, because I'm so enjoying and benefitting from the very thing I'm reproving them for. That's making excellent kosher versions of great Scotch Whisky.

Excellent review! I have just bought and tasted my first Signatory Vintage. It is a Glelivet 17, 1st fill Oloroso, 60.9 abv, cask 900797, bottle 557 of 625. It doesn't say un chillfiltered, but after adding water turns misty, long legs, and a long wait for optimal flavor. First one I've found in the states.

In Pakistan, this betel used to cost just $2, making it a very cheap item. Pakistan has a drinking culture among the high-class Muslims, and even the middle class consumes alcohol frequently. High-class individuals prefer smuggled goods from the USA or UK, while the middle class and poorer communities opt for Murree drinks, with the Murree Brewery thriving in the country.

I just love the Signatory Cask Strength packaging. This Signatory CS Deanston 12 is in total contrast to the Official Bottling Deanston 12, being that it is matured in a First-Fill Ex-Sherry butt, whereas the distillery's core range bottling is exclusively Ex-Bourbon matured. I personally would not even nose a whisky bottled at more than 60% abv. It will destroy my sense of smell for quite a while. I have a few Golani Single Cask Single Malts over 60% abv and will always add a couple of teaspoons just to begin with.

Rob, what Alberta on-line liquor vendor, or vendors, are you using to get whiskies mailed to you in BC? Kensington Wine Mart's website says they won't ship to addresses outside Alberta and also claims it is illegal for them to do so, but clearly there has to be at least one Alberta company that is doing it, or else you wouldn't be getting bottles like this.

yes does have that rum like character in it which kinda makes you want to puke in the confusion especially when there is sweetness first followed by that with nothing in between to balance it out so it is kinda two dimensional whisky as most often these cheaper canadian blends are but its not that bad

one thing i learned on my whisky journey is never to judge by the first impression specially whisky, many a times it will be good or bad but often changes quickly after the first dram is out of the bottle and it may only take a day to change, at first taste of deluxe the mouth feel was pleasant med viscosity then changed to water just before i swallowed it and was very smooth with faint flavors and faint aromas and not much of a finish, the next day the aromas started developing more and layered and the mouth feel a bit looser more flavors and spiciness as well as side burns on the tongue lingering and developing for the finish more like a scotch but with a bit of water that mellowed away, it may be a different exp each time after that specially depending on what you drank and eat before or what you drink with it like water or coffee may enhance the exp, another one once was bells that stuff tasted like horrid swill stick inky crap but before returning it to the store the next day i decided it to give it one last try and to my surprise it was like the crap that was there magically turned into actual whisky with pleasant taste
