Hi all, i thought it was time to get back on an NC750X but i went for the 2024 manual gearbox, and what a revelation it was. i love the DCT but riding this bike in the manual variant made the whole package a totally different ride. i really think this could be a fabulous tourer, with the ability to cover a little off road if needed, well in the way most of us tend to do. hope you enjoy.#adventu...

I BOUGHT MY LEGACY WHEN THEY FIRST ARRIVED IN THE UK AND HAVE ENJOYED TROUBLE FREE RIDING. A VERY EASY BIKE TO LIVE WITH AND PERFECT FOR SUNDAY RIDING AROUND TOWN, DOWN COUNTRY LANES AND A ROADS. IT WOULD ALSO MAKE A VERY GOOD COMMUTER BIKE. I FITTED TEC REAR SHOCKS FOR A SMOOTHER RIDE AS THE ORIGINALS WERE TOO SOFT AND FLOPPY. BEING A NAKED BIKE IT HAS NO WIND PROTECTION FOR HIGH SPEED MOTORWAY RIDING AND IS THEREFOR AT ITS BEST RIDING ON ALL OTHER PUBLIC ROADS. IT IS A RIDERS BIKE IDEAL FOR PERSONALISATION AT LOW COST AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT FOR BOTH YOUNG AND ELDERLY RIDERS. FOR ME ITS A KEEPER, ALONG SIDE MY HONDA NC750X, (WHICH DOES THE SAME JOB AS WELL AS MOTORWAY RIDING).

This is a good reliable bike good value ,but Royal Enfield needs a lowering kit ,thousands of shorter riders are missing out as the bike is to high for them even at low seat hight of 805 is still to high especially in Asia ,so Royal Enfield is missing out in thousands of orders because of the hight of the seat ,jimmy Australia ,I had to settle for a different brand of bike ,another thing they need not ,worry about the lean if they lowered the bike ,most don’t bother about sump clearance ,May be one day it will happen then I’ll trade in and buy one

hi all it was very interesting comparing these two bikes. i was surprised at how little you could spend to make such a noticeable improvement or certainly in my humble opinion. the upgraded red bike certainly felt a more competent package. From the messages here it seems that BSA are depriving our American friends the opportunity the ride this reborn classic. im growing more concerned that BSA are showing signs of problems. if you start to discount your products heavily, and seem to have large stock excess floating around in the uk then that seems to me assure fire way to upset your existing customers and possibly put of new customers. only time will tell, but id like to see the brand thrive.

Great video mate, unfortunately we can't get those in the States right yet and highly unlikely they will ever pass muster for regulations in CA with their draconian emissions standards, but in the mean while we yanks can dream a bit. I was wondering if that big, bulky and unsightly radiator can be swapped out for a less bulky and smaller T100 factory radiator from Triumph, maybe a bike mechanic can chime in on that matter? It certainly would look better. Either way, we all here in the States are bloody salivating like 'Pavlov's dog' to get our grubby hands on one. Cheers.

I am old enough to remember the original Gold Star. However the more I look at this bike the more I like it. I don't think derogatory comments made elsewhere are being racist. I think they are more to do with frustration that it isn't being manufactured in England, as it should be. If Mahindra can make the bikes, ship them and sell them at a reasonable price and still make a profit. Then why can't we?

I really like the way you present you bikes and your views on them, and enjoy watching them. Ive just subscribed and watch a few of you videos. Currently I am riding my second NC750x DCT (18 and 23). Whilst the 23 is lower (for my inseam 28"), I'm considering a change to lighter bike with low seat height (age thing too,72). The new Triumph 400 has caught my attention recently, but it would be the Speed 400 for its lower seat I'd go for. I would love to see you review the Speed 400 in the future, including the Pheasants comments too, 🙂

Thanks for this comparison video of these suspension set ups. I have a Legacy and feel the change of rear shocks would be good, though i tend to prefer the look of the Hagon shrouded shocks. The problem for me is while i would like fork springs i'm not to keen on the spring preload mechanism, they don't sell the springs on their own. I will have to look elsewhere.

I had a 2012 Nc700X Manual for 6 years and then bought a new NC750X DCT in 2019. I was very pleased with the DCT covering only 10,000 miles in 4 years though. I would have kept it but unfortunately, it was stolen from the street in Birmingham City Centre in June 2023. I needed a replacement machine very quickly as I was scheduled to lead a ride-out in Wales as part of an International Rally later that month. I didn't really think of anything other than an 750X but could not source a DCT quickly, either new or used, in the wider West Midlands area. I located a manual gearbox 2021 model in Shrewsbury and bought that. The 2024 model is no different from the 2021 model year variant except there are new colours available. My two year old replacement 'bike came with the optional higher Honda screen, and at 5' 11" I find it protects me from the wind and turbulence. I don't mess around with rider modes, leaving it Standard for everything. I haven't noticed the extra 4 bhp that the 2021 onwards models produce but I thought the previous model had plenty of useable performance. It took me a while to adjust to manually changing gear again but the gearbox is slick and the clutch easy to operate. I plan to keep this 'bike for a while and am not sure whether I would change it for a DCT. I had no DCT transmission issues, but I did only 10000 miles on it. Good to see your views, thank you!

Triumph everyday of the week! Twice the bike especially when riding a bit harder. To do my own oil changes and filter and a basic service costs me only aroung 100 aus dollars and about 10-15 minutes. With some very cheap easy mods like upgraded pipes, disconnect pollution gear and run a front sprocket with one less tooth the triumph soon turns into a midrange power beast! Best bikes in the world!

Great video, thanks. When I bought my 77 XLH Sportster new the first thing I did was to fit progressive fork springs and rear shocks, I also changed the stock Goodyear tyres for Continental tyres. What a difference that all made for the ride and carrying a pillion and also cornering. I actively looked for bends and roundabouts as the bike handled much better than stock. Still have the machine.

Thanks for this really useful back to back comparison. I was considering the TEC rear shocks, but they don't do the shrouded ones anymore. Are the ones on the red BSA a straight swap with no modification required? I've got a Shadow Black, so the black bodied TEC shocks would look OK, but I was after the retro look of shrouded shocks really.

The genuine Girling shrouded rear shocks are still available, I bought a pair for my Legacy Edition, they cost £155 on eBay. The TEC shrouded shocks were a cheap copy of the Girlings. The stock BSA shocks that I removed are now on a 1980 Benelli 900 Sei.

Easy to fit and i have them on position 3, good investment might do the front forks as well now.

I’ve got a 22 DCT version, ride almost every day all through the year and I absolutely love it. Low revving relaxed engine, upright comfortable riding position, unreal fuel economy (80 plus mpg) and built in storage. The only issue I have is the suspension. As a very light rider (under ten stones/64 kg) it’s very harsh particularly on the front. I’m in the process of modifying the forks to make them a bit more compliant and I’ll be fitting a Hagon shock as soon as they’ve finished their prototype work for this version. I’ve no plans to change this bike at all.

I sure wish Enfield would up the ante a bit with a 750 or 850. Nothing against the 650, it's a good value if you don't want something larger. They've created many bike style variations around the 650 engine but nothing at the level of the larger Triumphs. Sure, you can get big bore kits, cams, change the mapping, etc. But for that layout, why not just buy a second-hand Triumph in the first place?

I Have a 24 NC DCT, and it fits my needs perfectly. I have periferal neuropathy in both feet as a side effect of immunotherapy treatment, and simply cannot change gear with my foot. The DCT is fantastic, and suits the engine very well. However, having come from an MT09 SP, I find the suspension absolutely appalling, particularly the front, which has way too hard high-speed compression damping. Every small feature of the road is transmitted to the bars as a wrist breaking crash! The rear is perhaps not quite as bad, but has no adjustment. To be fair, the bike is built to a budget, and this is shown by the cost - £8770. Handling is OKish, but tight hairpins are a nightmare, the bike understeering with a vengance. I've just done the National Rally, 770 miles for the weekend, so the next job is a front fork cartidge upgrade, and hope that will improve things!

For the money in the size, I don’t think you can beat the MT in any fashion so far you just have to get past the mental stigmas but for the price and the quality and 53 years of writing, I’ve never seen anything any better at this point, but that’s my opinion I’ve been into Honda and Yamaha my whole life and I think these are actually better made having owned all 3 of the others I mentioned. Purchased the 22 model two years ago, I went for hyper pro front springs, cost about £100, bar risers, touring screen with deflector. Comfort wise, I do tour a bit so purchased a cheap piece of Gel off Amazon, took off the seat and cut the Gel to size, re fitted the seat. Perfect. My only criticism is the side stand, it could have been a bit longer and robust, like my street triple. The rear spring is adequate. The bike I ride the most is the NC, 9 times out of 10

As a 70 year old I just completed a 950k day ride. My problem is more about hips and knees, the seat is not great but is fine, with my personal padding!
