SLADE-JIM LEA-DUMMIES Miles out to sea
Просмотров 26 тыс.14 лет назад
Jim Lea's cover of the Slade song from the 1974 Album "Old New Borrowed and Blue". Did''nt give aany clues to what was said after the line"We sang songs from Cabaret" on the original version. Still Wonderin !
Slade - Wheels ain't comin down
Просмотров 13 тыс.14 лет назад
Rare footage of Slade performing "WHEELS AIN'T COMIN DOWN". (WE'LL BRING THE HOUSE DOWN ALBUM) Apart from a good composite of actual footage of Slade singing"Wheels" live with an overdub of the track I'm unaware of any other video footage for this song. Would be Pleezed to be enlightened though !

What on earth were those guitars? It looks like they were all bought from Woolworths! Certainly not the guitars they usually used.

What an era this was. Saw them live in 1973 which was arguably their most successful year. I was 14 years old. Musically and emotionally it was the most unforgettable moment of my entire life, and hell fire they were so damn loud.

They were loud alright. I saw them in 74 from the 3d row. I could not hear anything until late the next day. Contributing to my hearing loss might have been the other two bands on the bill that night. The first band up was 10cc. The next one was Robin Trower. What a great night of rock and roll so good. One of the best nights of live music I've ever had.

Looks like Winterland? Great performance. Jim Lea's EB-3 by this time had been painted white when he'd gotten the neck pickup moved more towards the middle. He didn't request that it be painted white. It was a "surprise" by the repair guy. Lea wasn't happy about the "surprise". I'd be pissed off it that happened to one of my guitars or my bass. But have to admit the white EB-3 does look pretty classy when he's playing it... Thanks for posting this vid.

Had a listen to the original Slade version on a vocal separator and after 'Cabaret' someone says something along the lines of 'they know us tu(rn?)Johhhnd'!!! which probably means it got on there by accident and in their rush to get the record out, nobody on 'quality control' noticed it!🙄
