Most of the time it's the final production which makes the song bad, a bad mixing, singing voice, untalented band member and then bumm, you have a "bad" song. But if you play the same song let's say on a piano, or by yourself with your talented band, it's immediately makes the song, umm, better.

(Still dont know how to explain it hehe). But in my opnion songs that last for a lifetime. Songs that you can listen to 30 times on one sitting. And pick it up again after months and be like ” What is this masterpiece?” Songs that give that feeling of listening to a brilliant song for the first time every time you hear it again. Songs with songwriting and music that is timeless and you kinda could not tell thay it was made x years ago cause It feels like it has always been there and always will be there. A song that every time you hear it louder you find more subtle details that make it even greater. Oops i went too far. But you catch my drift? One album thay comes to mind is an absolute classic. The Black Album (Metallica) by Metallica. I have listened to that front to back a thousand and one times and not have gotten enough if it. I remember one car ride my dad was taking me home from a tournament match and we put on The Black Album and i just felt like i had forgotten how damn good it is. Best feeling ever. It felt like i rediscovered the whole album and it felt like a new experience. Music that never gets old is the best music there is. Music that was made to last is the best music there is and i hope in the future instead of some artificial intelligence making mellow pop tunes out of already made songs, we will continue to innovate and create amazing songs that will last a million lifetimes and inspirate younger generations to be even greater. I wonder what you think of albums like trout mask replica and metal machine music. Albums that sound bad to the majority, and were borderline reviled at their release, but today are considered pillars of musical experimentation and helped build a foundation for alternative music.

For me a big part of what makes bad music is unoriginality and greed. I mean songs that are just put out with a basic beat, some good looking singer and copy paste lyrics just to throw it into the masses so it generates money. This makes a lot of songs that aren't musically or lyrically 'bad' unenjoyable to me. Radio music tends to be exactly like that hence I dont listen to radio

I hate to say it, but honestly.... I kind of like You Done Goofed's beat? Dahvie's vocals sound like a whining Eric Cartman and the background behind the song is one of the most disgusting and heartbreaking things I ever read.... it's bad, it's bad, it's bad and I know. BOTDF is the worst band I've ever heard and I remember that Jessi Slaughter story very clearly. But that main instrumental beat in the chorus gets me... it's those four common chords I love so much and it sounds like something R&Bish that Stargate would produce. If someone like Ne-Yo, Jordin Sparks or Beyonce sang over that beat about a completely different subject matter, I genuinely think it would work. But damn, I feel guilty defending even just that instrumental honestly, I can't even believe it. I'm glad Damien's doing alright these days.
