TOP 100 | Eternal Ascent - Succession | Bikalp Singh Dura
My submission for @pwnisher 's Eternal Ascent Community Challenge.

It has been a very short month. Working on this project was the most fun I had in a long time. Last time I couldn't make a thorough breakdown for my Endless Engines submission but this time I have tried my best. This is however a short cutdown breakdown of the project.
This will be the second time Ive participated in one of these and I have to say im equally happy about finishing this project as I was the first time. Clint said in one of his livestreams "play with your strengths" and that is what I tried to do in this one. I love creating environments so I took my time with it for this one. ...

Somewhere in the Himalayas - BREAKDOWN Super happy to have not taken forever on completing this project. Wanted to try Gaea to Houdini workflow for the hero terrain and I think it turned out good. However I spent so much time learning Houdini Heightfields that I had to integrate the tool in the project as well. Many valuable lessons learned on scattering and optimization. Hoping to build on all...

Im probably gonna post a in depth "In the Making video" for this very soon! I have tried to participate in every one of Clint's 3D challenge but every time I quit because of time constrains and other issues. This time, even finishing this project on time is more than enough for me. On top of that, I am really proud of how this turned out at the end. There are still some things that I want to im...

WIP #6 for @pwnisher Endless Engines challenge I have been doing this in my spare time and it has been quite difficult to take time out lately. That was the reason for going with a simpler scene in the first place.I'm having trouble integrating small rain splashes into the scene but other than that Im quite happy with where this is heading overall. Let me know what you think. #EndlessEngines #p...

WIP #1 for @pwnisher Endless Engines challenge
this is such amazing work
Amazing
Conceptually, this one really stood out to me in the top 100. Nice work!
This video is proof of that when they say that "I know how to do everything but a little bit" How do you have in your head can fit so many programs, I'm shocked.... I still don't understand for what purposes you used a blender if you had Maya at hand in which you did the main scene assembly, there are much cooler tools for character rigging than in a blender! Am I wrong?
You're absolutely right. Maya is pretty much the benchmark for rigging and animation tools. However for this project I used DAZ character models which already has detailed rig and in order to transfer them to maya, there wasn't a proper bridge through which I could transfer all the rigging as well as texture details of the models. Blender on the other hand has a very handy tool called Diffeomorphic which enables smooth workflow between DAZ and Blender. Thus I decided to use Blender for all the character stuffs. I have worked as a generalist for a while now that is why I am familiar with many different software. Doing everything in a single software is useful for some cases but I believe the task becomes much easier if you use different software according to its strength. I hope this clears some things. Cheers!
@@bikalpsinghdura Great job! Thanks for the detailed response
Bro blender is better than maya 💀🥶
@@principedelapaz3593 Not quite so and not in everything! Look at the number and level of movies and games where Maya was used, and compare it to blender, the result is obvious. And Blender is only better because it's “Social Networking Software”.
rat!!!!!!.....oh god, such a detaild work
So so good. Such an insane amount of work and attention to detail, congratulations on pulling this off
Thanks man. Appreciate it!
What’s your email?
you can contact me on Instagram. instagram.com/bikku.3d.xd/
Man u blast it how much time did it take plz tell me? And how many years are you in this industry
Thank you. I started working in 2021. This project took roughly 20 days.
Whats your process for bridging the scenes in Maya Blender & Houdini? Do you use usd?
Since im using redshift I can export rs proxy and import that into houdini. the limitation is that if you want to tweak the shaders youll have to create new one in houdini and override them. From blender to houdini I just used alembic. I want to look into USD but there a lot to learn so maybe when I have some time to spare.
absolute unit

Very nice brother, why no sound design ???
I have posted the final video with the breakdown and it has some sound design :)
Even before I clicked on the video I said out loud in IT'S voice, Hello Georgie
This looks so cool! The lighting the water... 🤩... I so want to start learning to make something like this... You inspired me... Is there a place we can learn or start?
Of course. Blender is free to download and there are tons of resources for you to lean. You can start with the donut tutorial series by Blender Guru.
Well Done Brother!
Just incredible, buddy, I'd be super proud too. Bravo!
Can you make a slum kid stealing food and running from the shopkeepers or wild animals running from a forest fire.
