17 Degrees: 6x12 Cargo Trailer Conversion Staying Warm!
Living in a 6x12 Cargo Trailer Conversion Tiny Home can be challenging in the winter! How I stay warm when the temperatures drop to 17F at night. It is all about the insulation…..yep….you have to invest in good insulation if you want to live comfortably in a cargo conversion when it is cold…or hot. This is my seventh winter in this little castle and I love it! Cheers

DIY 6x12 Cargo Trailer Window Blind: Intarsia Artwork!
Просмотров 2535 месяцев назад
Well.....After almost 5 years of having a DIY window blind in my 6x12 Cargo Trailer Conversion that was held in place by Velcro on my RV style door, I have been gifted a piece of Intarsia Artwork that I want to incorporate into a new window blind that will use magnets to hold it in place. The old one was always falling off as the sticky on the back of the Velcro would wear off, and I was consta...
Hayfork CA - Where is that! Rock Bridge Indian Confrontation
Просмотров 3046 месяцев назад
Hiking to the beautiful Natural Bridge outside hayfork CA. At 150 long and 30 feet high, this natural limestone bridge was formed long ago by water running under it. The bridge is infamously known for the massacre of the Wintu Indians in 1852 as it was used as a lookout to spot the Indian camp. The area leading out to the area is very well known for its numerous legal and illegal marijuana grow...

A local in my little mountain town told me to go to the next town over and take a hike into the woods and then go off trail to find some crazy sh*t! Yep, it took me a little bit, but I found the crazy. Is it a back woods mountain public art display or an egregious case of dumping in the forest....you decide! Stagecoach Bandits Waterfall Cave Hideout

A great little hike down to one of the most beautiful Waterfalls, Black Bart's Hideout AKA Hedge Creek Falls in Dunsmuir CA. Located a bit south of the Oregon border in Northern CA, Dunsmuir is a fascinating little gem I can't wait to go back and explore more. Black Bart is known as the Gentleman Stagecoach Bandit from the 1870's and 1880's. He robbed 28, yes, 28 Wells Fargo Stagecoaches, somet...
Fixing Hole In Cabinet Door: 6x12 Tiny House Cargo Trailer Conversion

After stupidly picking up my Convection Oven while it was still hot in my 6x12 Cargo Trailer Conversion Tiny Home, I chucked it, and it hit my cabinet door and put a hole in it. DANG IT! Well, since the cabinet doors are DIY and I built them, that means I can easily repair them, thankfully! I shall show you how I got it all back to normal, like it never happened. I had a Coleman Backpack BBQ before this little guy and while it cooked well and was reasonably small, it absolutely sucked to try and clean after cooking on it. Everything stuck to the grill....uugghh! This little Korean BBQ is a great cooker, smaller, and SO EASY to clean. My favorite camp grill ever. Compact Luxuries - Gravity Fed Shower in a Cargo Trailer Conversion!
9:50...The pocket holes are the wrong direction. You never install pockets angling towards the edge of the ajoining board. This makes the joint extremely weak and prone to splitting. You should have turned the board around, placing the pockets on the outside. If you don't want pocket holes on the outside, then you can fill the holes or use a different method to join the boards.
Huming birds are truly great!!!
I'm very happy to see you back 😁 👍. Great information on insulation. I went 2" in my walls and ceiling, and 3" on the floor of my cargo trailer. I will be ordering the Ivation 13-Pint Small-Area Desiccant Dehumidifier.
Good to see a video. I thought you had disappeared or some of these "aliens" had humannaped you. 😂
HOORAY!!! Glad to see you are back. The 1MC vlogs ALWAYS have a valuable nugget (or two or three) of info. I'm gonna get one of those dehumidifiers for my always weepy travel trailer - post haste!! Also, it is reassuring to know there is another person that HATES TRINITY FOG as much as I do.... O.K., fog a day or two a week is acceptable. But, every day 4 mos./year is a little oppressive. Great to see the attention those little Hummers get. Keep up the good work!!
I thought you were retired. What do you work at? I thought all the hummingbirds migrated south. I’m very glad you take care of them. Well don’t work too hard & have a great day.
Great information! Thanks!
Cheers, glad you're back! 😊
Glade to see ya!
Have missed your videos! Great to see you! It’s interesting that the fog from the Smoky Mountains comes mainly from the VOC’s naturally occurring from the dense vegetation there. Happy Trails
Thank you Sir! Like the 'fantastic finger" comment. I drilled a 1/4" hole into my thumb recently. That was a joy. Nice and simple directions . I think I can!
Oh that would suck drilling a hole in your thumb! Many colorful words were said that day I am sure. Cheers
can you build this for me i pay
The screws should be on the outside… so the screws are screwed int the bulk of the wood. Not the edge!
That was awesome! Thank you! I am learning to build out a van. I will be making these cabinets. 😀
Ah a van....so fun and you can just start it and go. Happy building. Cheers
Nice explanation! All you need a simple bar clamp to hold the joint while putting the right angle pieces and the two halves together.
i like it myself.. pretty cozy if you ask me.. well done! I see potential having maybe a longer counter panel table .. just right behind along the bottom length of your bed.. that can be fold up or fold down... i'd say maybe half size of the table what you got there.. now you have more room to walk trough.. and more folding stools to add maybe 2 to 3 .. more counter space to work on laptop? ☺ ☺
Thank you! Cheers
I love your Tiny Home... Great job. So cute.
Thank you! Cheers
Damn fine job. I am planning my cargo camper/toy hauler build now. Trying to decide between 6x12 (6'3 ceiling) or 7x12x7 size trailer. Price jumps quite a bit between those sizes. Will def copy your cabinets. Simple, useful and look good to me. Thanks. From your experiance which of the two sizes woul you buy? Both ceiling heights work for me.
If I did it again I would get 7x12 just so I could put 2 inches of insulation in the walls. Still good R6 value using RMAX rigid insulation in 1 inch walls on 6x12 but it would make a difference. Cheers
Ah Ha! A shower idea I had hoped to find! Thanks! I am configuring ideas prior to a cargo trailer build.
So fun to create your own stuff! Easy and it works. Cheers
How much is the lot rent
$460....and I use about $50 in electric in the winter and $25 in summer. Cheers
Missing your videos, hope all is well!
Hi! My mom passed in August, so I went quiet. Part of life that sucks but we all get to experience. I just started getting back to the video world. All is good. Cheers and thanks!
@1man_caravan My condolences on your Mom, you are right that sucks! Happy to hear you are ok and videoing again. I'm looking forward to seeing what you bring to the screen. Peace and Good Vibes sent your way.
Calculate the x/16 equivalent to the "rim hole" stated on the valve stem. You can also tie a fishing line to the valve stem and feed the line back through the hole from the inside
Excellent
And easy! Cheers
Thats a big shower for a small trailer.
Sometimes bigger is better! I like my showers and I am now in my seventh year living in this build so a must for me! Cheers
I do a lot of sous vide, so having a vacuum sealer is a must for me and it doubles for this, I portion meat into vacuum sealed bags!
Wool certainly is nice, but I prefer 2 x Winter IKEA down comforters pinned together, for "ever" & EVER. Super warm, but not too warm, compresses for storage and doesn't need tucking!
I love how you are just as giddy about your home as the day you finished it🎉
I love my little castle! Cheers
Taj-Ma-Haul approves of your Tiny Home! Well done sir!
oh, the shower! I really like the "seating area"... Do I pull my traditional shower pan and redo the shower???
I will say those inserts are such a rip off. I did another video on my gravity shower and I had to replace the original one because it cracked and the tub and insert were over $700. Good grief. But I do love the seat! And look into the retractable shower doors......so worth the money. Cheers
@@1man_caravanI in fact have that same retractable shower door! I’m contemplating adding a second door that leads to the bathroom!
Fine job, sir. I'm getting ready to make my first cabinets in my enclosed trailer, and will be doing a version of what you have done.
I say build what works for you! Those pocket screws make things strong. Happy building....Cheers
You're hilarious
If your from up north, get a trailer that has the Axeles that alow you to lower the tailor to the ground. Think ice fishing!
Great video Aaron, we need more please.
😁
How much and what type of insurance?
Thank you! Thank you! You made me realize I can do it, too! You made it look simple and the result is beautiful.
This video makes your cargo van look pretty roomy. You are very creative and skilled.
I love my little castle! Cheers Thank you
What are the color names/brand of your paint? You make things look easy. Thanks.
Oh dang....I will have to pull them out of my little bench storage unit outside and get back to you. I know the Gray is Skipping Stone Gray
Videos like this are what convinced me to build my own little house. This guy is very creative and funny with his build. Not sure you could figure that as a fire exscape. With a few square feet of anything that might start burning, do you really think your gonna have time to remove cover and undo 3 locks and the door latch? The shower is incredible!!! A little overkill. LOL
What if a tree falls on my house and blocks the front door lol! It snows where I live. Just wanted two ways in and out. Cheers and thanks.
Can't wait to try your recipes. I think you've found your niche.
Thanks!
I'll have to try these. You're a great cook! Can't wait to see more.
What a fun video. I've got the black oil sunflower seeds for sprouting and trays in my amazon cart. Can't wait to try them. Do you plan on trying other types of seeds? Any recommendations? Also, are those candles on your wall next to your door battery operated? Can I ask where you acquired them?
Been gone for a while so here I am getting back to you finally! The candles take two AA batteries (I use rechargeable from amazon) and have a timer so they come on every day at the same time! Luminara....sold all kinds of places I got them at Amazon. I have not tried any other greens....Love the Sunflower! Cheers
Great video!! I loved the bag idea and packing as well. Thank you!!
Thank you! Now I just need to drag my house down to the store with me and leave all the Styrofoam packing the meet comes in in their garbage can lol! Cheers
Yeah it's your personality, you make it all seem so fun and easy
I am loving your tiny house cargo trailer. I am seriously considering building mine like your if you don’t mind. But if you do mind I just won’t tell you lol
😁
FYI if you ever need to replace your washer and / or spinner you can get one with both in 1 for $99. That’s what I have and I love mine too. Happy washing. 🌊
Love the tiny machines! Makes life so much better! Cheers
Love it!
Amazing! Great job!
Thanks! much appreciated!
Thanks Aaron. Great story. Being from Northern California I had heard of Black Bart but never knew his story. Beautiful spot.
Such a wonderful place....you should go see it! anyone can get down to it....nice smooth path that is easy to navigate! Cheers
If it was your 'secret place', it isn't anymore.
😂
RV industry is seiously lacking on quality control. I built a cargo conversion camper 15 years ago. Well I am needing a larger one at this time. On looking around TRAILERSPLUS advertised that they are the specialists in this field. They advertise one piece roofs, totally sealed floors, built to last. So I paid more than others were charging for this better quality. drove 2.5 hours to the dealer here in Florida. After getting home I notice screws missing on exterior paneling. after getting a ladder to look at the roof (7 foot walls) I see a three piece roof. I installed a RV door latch and window. Then I pulled interior plywood off to insulated walls. found all verticle seems not sealed. Day light can be seen on all of them. Front exterior wall has a 2 inch gap from the floor. All this is opposite of there advertising, Picture adds stapled to this trailer. I contact them and he said procedure is to take pictures and send them by text. Then he changed tunes and said I would have to bring back the trailer so they could evaluate. Well they replied that it was built with in there specifications!!!. So I am stuck with a trailer that needs a lot of work to make it water tight. I think people need to be aware of this false advertisement from this company. They never stated what there guid lines are for quality control are. BUT aparently if it can be hidden from the buyer it passes!!
