5 Exercises To Get Rid of Sacroiliac SI Joint Pain (MOST EFFECTIVE!)
What a great workout! Thanks
okay…I have knocked knees and I don‘t feel any stretch with this. can put my knees completely down
I am a jeweler, I do repeated gripping of the jewelry I I am working on, left hand is basically a clamp, obviously I am not standing when I am at my bench at work, what exercises would I do to help that connections of tendons, muscles, and joint. I cannot rest, I need to make a living.
What do you recommend for SI pain?
Thank you for taking the time to watch this one! You can check out my most recommended exercises for this condition here: 5 Exercises To Get Rid of Sacroiliac SI Joint Pain (MOST EFFECTIVE!) ruclips.net/video/SZkW-lh_EZk/видео.html
Had may acl and menisci done three weeks ago. I wish I had known about the pillow under the leg sooner. Woke up in the worst pain a week ago worried about elevating it and the stitches at the top of my knee and knee cap were on fire. I was so worried about getting my knee over my heart, didnt think I could leave it straight and wedged until that night lol!!
Thanks for taking the time to watch this one and for commenting! I’m so glad to hear you learned something new and it’s amazing how much positioning and alignment is critical for your healing ! Wishing you the best!
This is a very difficult problem to cure, due to the fact that it is not an inflammation but rather degeneration of the tendon's collagen matrix.
Thank you so much. I had a knee replacement December 16th and I'm having issues with swelling around my knee and stiffness. I don't seem to be doing my exercises without so much pain. This video is going to help me I know it thank you 🙏🏻👑
Thank you so much for watching! So happy to hear you found this video helpful! Wishing you a smooth recovery!
Thanks a lot for the tips! I’ll have my surgery next month and I’m so scared but let’s do it!
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment on this video! I’m glad you found this information helpful! Wishing you the best of luck in your recovery!
Over yr. Still pain now other leg iner thy. Pain worst ever.
I had my knee replacement April and doing very well. My next surgery is in February for my other knee.
Thanks for watching! That’s terrific to hear your first procedure went well! Wishing you the best for your next one!!
I had both knees done within 4 months. Hip pain. extreme pain unlike my first knee surgery.
What do you know about jiffy knee ?
ACL replaced in 2000. Unfortunately, I waited way too long after injuring it, to do anything about and my left thigh atrophied over the years. I am now 16 days post left TKR of the same knee, and I am SO afraid of stretches like this. I can do this, pain free, but I am so worried that my knee is going to buckle backwards. I know I no longer have an ACL or PCL anymore and I worryy/wonder how much the new joint compensates for this. Knee is still stiff and feels weak/unstable, but improving with PT. Going to try the Tape if Doc approves. Thank you for thsi video.
Congratulations on your recent surgery and I can understand why you feel so afraid! But you have to trust that in order to restore your range of motion these stretches can be very helpful for your recovery! Hope you found this video informative! Wishing you the absolute best!
This is one of those things where you dont need it at all, until you do. And then, youre Sooooooo glad that videos like this are available. Im 16 days out after left TKR, and thankfully, I have zero issues straightening my leg. Its the bending that is really giving me trouble. I reached 98%, (once) last week, which I feel good about, but There is so little strength in my left knee when its bent. Just soo unstable, I live fearing its gonna buckle lol. PT is great. It leaves my leg feeling like a droopy wind sock but so good for it. All of your videos have been a GREAT supplement to my exercises. Thanks for keeping me motivated.
Thank you so much for your kind words and most of all for taking the time to watch here! It means a lot to hear that they have been helpful in your recovery! Sounds like your rehab is going great and I know with consistency you’re going to start to feel more confident. This recovery takes time and you want to focus on the small wins each day!
I had both knees replaced. The first was 7/23 and the second was 1/24. I am back to intermediate yoga and can do most, but not all, of the poses. I did all prescribed PT each time. My therapists knew me and helped with specialized care. PT and proper movement are crucial for a full recovery. I still have some stiffness on sitting too much in the more recent knee but both are fully functional.
Thanks for taking the time to watch this video! Hope you found it helpful! Sounds like your rehab went really well and I’m so happy to hear you’re back to yoga and all the things you love! So amazing! Thanks for sharing your experience with us all!
I am 3 weeks post-op RTKR. My physical therapist has me doing these exercises and they are great. However, she doesn't want me using any added weight on the new joint yet since she calls it an open chain. She thinks I should wait until about 6 weeks before adding weight so the cement is fully set. Your thoughts?
Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment! I would say EVERY patient has individualized needs and some people do knee to add some weight early on in order to progressively challenge their leg muscles. And for others no weight and closed chain would be more appropriate. At the end of the day it’s up to the patients individualized needs and exercise selection can be imperative to help one recover at a fast rate! Great question!
@@MovewithDrMike Thanks Dr. Mike. I appreciate the quick response and all of your informative videos. I have a significant varus condition so will be getting a LTKR within a couple months to have two straight legs! Do you have a preferred implant? Mine is the MAKO.
Can anyone comment whether red light therapy has helped their tennis elbow or is it just a gimmick? I’m doing PT but would also like to add in red light therapy for potential added improvement. I researched the Kineon Move device and am curious. TYIA
I am now ten months after tkr. Im still doing physio therapy. I have a little pain in the outer part of my knee when doing sit to stand or when squatting. I still have tightness and stiffness in the outer part of my knee. My ortho Dr says my ligament was stretched extremely during surgery but will go away in time with continued exercise. My walking balance is not quite thete yet either. What do you think about what I've stated Dr Mike
Thanks for watching this one! I appreciate the support! Sounds like you’re progressing well and I believe over the next couple months you’ll see even more improvement than before. My recommendation is to continue to focus on your stretching and do not neglect your balance. Regaining your balance by training it with specific exercises can even improve your walking! Keep up the consistency and physical therapy! Glad to hear you’re doing well!
@MovewithDrMike thanks a lot
@ you’re welcome!!
I am now nine months post tkr and the outer part of my knee is still tight and stiff. I am still doing physio therapy tho. My orthopaedic Dr says the stiffness may cause from a very stretched ligament durin surgery and it take time to heal. Plus i still have a little outer knee pain when I'm doing sit to stand. My balance is still a little off but im getting there. What do you think about all of what ive mentioned Dr Mike
Sounds like you’re progressing well and I believe over the next couple months you’ll see even more improvement than before. My recommendation is to continue to focus on your stretching and do not neglect your balance. Regaining your balance by training it with specific exercises can even improve your walking! @@MovewithDrMike thank you so much
These exercises are also excellent for post-hip replacement surgery! (I'm now fully recovered from my right THR in January, in the process of recovering from my left THR 3.5 weeks ago, and starting to think about preparing for a knee replacement in 2-3 months time.)
Thank you so much for watching!! I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed this video! I agree these techniques can be very helpful for both hip and knee replacement recovery! Wishing you the best !
223 pm i had kneesurgery one mounth ago my knees are still stif i get a little pain still could be that i am standing on my feet to long how long do u take after surgery to put weight on that ĺeg
Thank you for taking the time to watch this one! You can begin to put pressure on the surgery leg immediately after the procedure but it should be gradual to ensure you recover at the appropriate rate without causing excessive pain or swelling! Check out this video here where I go over specifically how to progress your walking ▶️ ruclips.net/video/4BGamNg6zCw/видео.htmlsi=SCz46hd-3_Q_z5lX
Thank you for this video. I have having suffering from spasms on my knee for more than a year following a severe fracture of my tibial and fibula bone. Pls help me
Thank you for taking the time to watch here! I really appreciate your support!!
I’ve had my knee done about 6 months ago, my ROM is about 120, but the pain is still unbelievable. I struggle to walk a short distance, and I can’t work out why it’s still so sore, and I’m still taking a shit load of OxyContin
Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share your experience! Hang in there! It can take some people 6-12 months for a full recovery so you shouldn’t get down on yourself if you’re still having pain. Take it one day at a time!
@@MovewithDrMikethanks for the advice. I really appreciate it.
One thing the Dr DIDN'T talk about! If you are still working, or doing anything around the house, If you break your Skin on ANYTHING, Make SURE you put an antibiotic on the cut! If you get an infection, it WILL go to the artificial joint! If that happens, as of 2019, they take the knee out, put in antibiotic spacers, and you HAVE to do IV antibiotics 3 times a day for 6 weeks! A week after that they put a New knee in! Beware of Staph infections!
Thanks for taking the time to watch this video and for sharing your knowledge with us all! Hope you found this video informative!
I prefer a light compressive stockinette if one were sensitive to the tape.
Thanks for watching! Great idea! Compression stockings can also be very effective for some people
Do you have any info on hematoma forming under the new knee that needs drained? I'm 2 weeks post-op TLKR and the surgeon drained my knee of 3 big tubes of blood fluid to help the swelling .. too much for my body to absorbed... but I'm noticing the fluid is coming back quickly?
For anyone looking to expand their exercise knowledge, Heygainz has an extensive database of exercises that could complement what we learned here.
Hi Mike 12 days after knee surgery, i still have the original bandage and wrapping on lefy leg, is it to early to take off the original one now? And if it's ok, should i proceed with the tape afterwards? Do you sleep with it on?
Hey thanks for taking the time to watch this one! You can actually use the tape early on while you have the surgical bandage on! Just go around the dressing. Also I would proceed with the application even after the dressing is removed and it’s totally fine to sleep on! Hope that’s helpful! Thanks for watching and wishing you the best in your recovery!!
@MovewithDrMike thank you so much Dr Mike, even I'm having physical therapy, the pain can get pretty intense at times, do you think a stationary bycyle might help some?
@ Absolutely! The bike can be a great tool to help improve range of motion just make sure you don’t start off with the seat too low! Wishing you the best!
Great advice about the foot placement. I hadn't heard about not putting the foot too far forward, but taking your advice with a bit of forward lean makes it a lot easier. I know about the importance of keeping the foot straight to keep the knee from collapsing inward.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment on this one! It means a lot! It’s amazing how much proper body mechanics can make the world of a difference. You want your body to work with you not against you! Glad this one was helpful!

Glad you like them! Thank you so much for watching this video!
Thanks TNR absolutely sucks . But you can get through it .

Um...manbuns are pretty silly looking if you want to be taken seriously...and in general.........
Mike you're a champion, thanks for this. You've verified and clearly explained everything I knew to be true and have been lucky enough to administer since my TKR literally one week ago, I was on the table as I type this. First 24 hours were agony but eased nicely after that. Physio had me weight bearing on day two and I've been home from day 4. First attempt at 3x10m walking sessions in a day had me feeling it big style, so I've backed it off and do what I can to the point of discomfort or the ten minutes so as not to push it. Incredible how quickly you can feel the results if you listen to your body rather than blindly following a regime. I'm lucky in that our front door opens to a large shared tiled entrance, so walking down one tile track while keeping your eyes ahead on one point and trying not to sway. Slow starts and then build up until you're doing it without any pressure on the crutches. Such a great feeling of accomplishment, and the ice reward afterwards is heaven😂 Happy healing all!❤

Had my left replaced in 2015. Having my right replaced tomorrow!
Thanks for taking the time to watch this one!! Good luck you got this!!
You shouldn't say "no one is doing after knee replacement" because at least 7 years ago, when i had my right knee done, booklets or single sheets were being sent home with patients.
Thank you for taking the time to watch this video! I really appreciate the support!
Just home after a week of TKR hospitalization still swollen/heavily bruised.. Took two tries to pass the 4 stairs test. I only need to go up two eventually 10. What I needed to see before surgery was a video on getting into a tall vehicle with left leg operated. Didn't have a problem before with my right leg seven years ago. Trying to remember to use a crutch instead of being unaided in my very small apt. I forget sometimes but I am remembering to put my foot down flat and not walk on my toes anymore.
Congratulations on your recent surgery! Hope things are going well! After reading this comment I am now going to try to work on a video about how to get in and out of a vehicle! That’s a great idea and I think many would benefit from this video! I really appreciate you for watching!
@@MovewithDrMike Thank you so much!
@ you’re welcome!!
I had both knees partially replaced in 2014 and 2015. I’ve been working out for a few years off and on but the last year 4-5 times a week. I haven’t found any videos on what leg exercises not to do. I’m using resistance bands and doing squats, hamstring exercises and leg extensions. Would appreciate some of these videos
Thanks for watching and I hope you found this video helpful! This is a great idea and I’m going to now make a video about “what exercises NOT to do” in the next upcoming weeks! I appreciate your support and commenting on the channel!
Thank you. I look forward to that video
I'm a year POST-OP. NO PAIN in my knee. My hips are ARTHRITIC and really painful.
Thank you for watching!!
My mom is 6 months past the bilateral knee surgery, but she can't bend her knees even 90° even when she exercises, She is in pain due to stiffness in her knee. How can I help my mom to bend her knee now?
Thank you for watching and supporting the channel! I hope your mom is doing well and I’m sorry that she is still dealing with pain and stiffness. The best thing she can do for herself is to continue with aggressive stretching to help her restore as much range of motion back as possible in the knee. This would still be beneficial for her to do daily. She might also want to try placing a heat pack over the knee at least 15-20 minutes before stretching to help warm and loosen up the muscles/tissues prior to exercise.
@MovewithDrMike Thanks for your advice. I will heed your suggestion and keep you updated.
I had knee replacement this past sept 25; 2024 did everything excersises three times a day and physical therapy slept with knee straight out. It was rough but did everything my doctors told me to do . I work at a gym. I feel great now I am 68. Walk a mile to work went back after 7 weeks.
Wow congratulations on a successful surgery and recovery! Sounds like you were persistent and you stuck to the plan! Awesome job! Wishing you the best of luck! Thanks for watching
I am six weeks past my surgery and wow! Everything you say here is TRUE!! I hope people research this and find your channel because like many of the comments here I totally agree with what you have said! I suppose my doctor and PT person know their stuff because I'm doing exactly what you've said here! Thank you and I hope people find this before their surgery. I have a question. What do I do AFTER I finish PT? I have 2 more sessions and my dr said I can stop going when I'm done. I want to keep on doing things at home but,, what??? I hope you can answer this.
Congrats on your recent surgery! I wanted to thank you for watching and for your kind words! I’m always so happy to hear when my viewers are finding value in my videos! And I really like that you are looking forward into the recovery and wanting to know what to do after PT! Because this is very important for long term physical health. I plan on continuing to make more content around this topic so please keep leaving comments on my videos if there are specific questions or topics you’d like for me to cover! Furthermore, for longevity in the surgery knee I would recommend continuing to focus on improving your flexibility around the knee and PROGRESSING your strength exercises with use of weight (dumbbells/kettlebells). You can find many videos specific to the knee on my MOBILITY and STRENGTH playlists on my channel! Go check them out! Wishing you the best!! I have just had one done and believe me when you are in bed you will do any position to relieve the pain, it is so intense . Another good tip is elevate your bed slightly ( 2 inches )at the foot end you will wake with a LOT les swelling
Thank you for watching and for taking the time to share your tips! Wishing you the best hope all is well!
How long after surgery can I start hiking again? Willing do do any physio, exercise.
Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment! I would say it really depends on what you define as ‘hiking.’ Things I would want to know is how vigorous is the hike (incline/decline), how many miles, and how long can you currently tolerate on your feet? With my experience my patients are normally confident enough to start going on small hikes after 4-6 months and then with time they progress to longer and more difficult hikes. Hope that helps take care
@ thanks for the reply, I normally take 2 weeks leave and hike 200 miles in the Pyrenees. Scheduled to have a knee replacement in Feb hope to be doing long multi day hikes in summer 26. Do you think it’s doable??? I’ll work hard at the physio.
I sleep on my stomach and I'm so worried about sleeping after my surgery 12/17. Any suggestions for me would be great
Thank you for watching and I totally understand your concern! It’s important to know that there is no ONE way to sleep after this procedure. Some of my patients have slept on their back, side and sometimes on their stomach. Find a position that you feel is comfortable and that you can find restful sleep. Wishing you the best and hope all is well in your recovery!
