The final part of my "How to" video. In this part I am checking the oil pump alignment and adjusting the bands. Unfortunately I didn't film the valve body and reverse servo installation. I really enjoyed this repair and would like to another transmission one day. I hope you find this video helpful. Rick

I always wanted to rebuild a automatic transmission and started to watch Hiram Gutierrez videos which really inspired me to rebuild my Ford unit.

Video is a little long. First time I have carried out the task. Filmed very late evening in Germany Mainz.
Hi do you happen to have the part number for that pump? I’m trying to look for mine and every time I go buy one they give me a different one with different connector on the harness and pretty much the one you’re changing is the exact same one I have is it possible for you to share that thanks man great video.
El peor video que allá podido ver de un ser humano, nisiquiera sabe lo que hace y quiere enseñar a otro su desastre, estoy en contra de RUclips por eso, debería prohibir este tipo de contenidos
It's just inexcusable they make it that difficult to change out your ATF. Holy crap.
What a pane in the ass! We got it fixed we have the same pump and in Amaca that didn't have the right pump So we called Ford dealer and thay gave us the right part number and the other ones must have put on a different harness to fit the one you have on your truck The new pump hase the wires coming out of the pump but we finally got the right pump from china
Hey do you know the part number for a new pump
This chap confidence level is not convincing enough to continue viewing.
Nice torch.
Is that a CVT transmissión?
No. 6 speed Aisin.
@@jamesmcallister3004I have one R53 cooper S automátic 6 speed and I was wondering if i would need yo use cvt oil. So I'm that case that is an aisin can I use atf oil?
Thank you so much for your video! Very helpful… however what quantity of oil should be put inside? I do not really the quantity…
Great video. Perhaps easier, there is another method that from 65 Ford on RUclips to fill your tranny by using an air compressor at a low PSI. Drill two holes in your fill container cap. One for the feed tube, another for an air feed. If you want, you can fill directley from the the right from the tranny fluid container (MUST BE LOW PSI). Feed the fill tube into the tranny and press air gun againd the air feed hole. The air pressure will force the tranny fluid thru the tranny fill tube.
Charlie Jack???, I couldn't stop laughing 😆😆😆.
How do you know if it's the fuel rail sensor or the fuel pump ?
All that work and then not replacing the part and trying to repair is crazy. I know the part is expensive but so is your time.
thank you good video

Mobil 1 ATF for a Mini Cooper? really? it is like preparing a Nesquik with water. lol
Hello. I have a 2005 Minicooper R53, automatic transmission. When I turn on the air conditioning, the automatic transmission goes crazy and then turns off the engine (in motion). I turn off the engine, wait a while and continue normally with the air conditioning off. Have you ever heard of a similar case? Any idea what it could be? Note: with the air conditioning off, the automatic transmission works normally. Thanks
Cut the metal under the seat a circle and take it out.
Can't watch the rest of this with you smacking your gum spit it out next time
Who the hell cuts there floor out? Bc im picturing them just putting a ugly unnecessary and completely unsafe hole in their vehicle.
You don't cut all the way dingus. All you're doing is making a access panel so you don't have to drop the fuel tank every single time. All you would do is lift the rear seats open the access panel and bam there's the pump
12:52 esas mierdas vienen del mismisimo infierno!!! LOL
From where do you refill and how do you know it is full?
I don't know why you spent so much time fumbling around with that fuel level sender. For all that trouble and work to remove the fuel tank, you're much better off just replacing the whole fuel pump assembly, which of course includes a new fuel level sender. You will be good to go for another decade or more and won't have to drop that tank again.
Looks like a nightmare. Good job.
When you started hammering in the plastic alignment tool for the pump my jaw dropped. It's only supposed to go in with hand pressure until it contacts the inner sleeve. It only aligns the pump cover with the inner shaft. It only goes in about half way. I applaud you for the effort doing this yourself, but please read instructions before you go pounding on things with a hammer. I'm surprised you got the alignment tool back out, though it surely will be far too damaged to ever use again. I'm also surprised you didn't drive the inner sleeve out the other side and ruin the pump. This is not a job for amateurs. A few other issues in your work as well, but next time please leave this to someone who knows what they're doing. I am curious to know if this transmission worked after this. If so, for how long?
Also, you can not turn it on the inside unless by inserting the torque converter and spinning it. The only thing you're doing shoving screwdrivers in there is ruining the front seal. Best of luck with this in the future.
Just use a magnetic torrent for the filler bolt
Should have replaced the whole assembly.

I know this is an old video, but people still servicing these cars might find these steps on how to check fluid level useful, as it kind of differs from what was shown in this video. Steps were found online in a blog posting. 1. The car needs to be absolutely cold 2. The car needs to be perfectly level on the ground. The entire fluid level check procedure depends on this. Do NOT overlook this. 3. NEVER have the fill bolt (located top side of transmission) off with the car running! If you start the car with the fill bolt off, it will start puking ATF. I have learned this by staining my garage floor with 3 quarts of ATF which spilled out in a matter of seconds. 4. Take the drain bolt off ONLY. Do NOT take the stand pipe out. 5. If tranny fluid drains, let it drain until it stops and proceed to next step 6. Grab a digital kitchen thermometer or any other means to measure temperature Digital is best because it offers instant reads 7. Start the car. With your foot on brake, go R, N,D pausing at least 2 seconds in each and then from D back to N, R and P. 8. Go back under the car and watch for when ATF starts to run out. Be ready with the thermometer 9. As soon as you see ATF coming out, take a temperature reading of the ATF (NOT the pan) by letting the ATF run over the thermometer. ATF needs to be between 35*C and 45*C, which is 95-113*F. 10. If you see ATF coming out that's at that range, you're good to go. Put the drain bolt back on asap.
👍 3 years ago you put this but I appreciate it now - The Only Thing That actually RIGHT--
I watched the first part of your video and then did mine, I was having trouble getting the fluid in the fill hole you said at the beginning then I watched another one somewhere else and the guy said to heat the fluid to 120 degrees so I did that and it went in pretty quick

what a ridiculous design. cool cars but man why don't they copy a toyota instead of a trebant? and since 100k more people might view this you could save humanity thousands of hours by re editing this to fast fwd over the slow parts.
