I run full steel, they are cheap and I'ma bang em up anyways! BFG m/t KO2's
Do you guys recommend an alignment shop in San Diego who is familiar with these arms? Or are the set right out of the box?
Yes to both questions. Checkered Automotive in Chula Vista has been our best resource for local installation and alignments. They are very familiar with our Upper Control Arms. The Upper Control Arms are ready to install right out of the box. You will just need to slide in the misalignment spacers into the heim joints when installing the long upper bolt. We also have alignment recommendations in our install guide to help the shop doing the work. You should not need to make any adjustments to the heim joints on our Upper Control Arms.
@@accutuneoffroad Awesome thank you.
Do you have any options to lower the backend of a lightning? my partners got a bronco book. He only drives on Fridays. Love your passion for your product. Your delivery delivery is great, informative full of energy. 😊
Do you have any options to lower the backend of a lightning?
Unfortunately no, we do not have anything to lower the back of a Lightning.
Guess must be a difference from 96. Ran cornbred spacers out of Va. I’m in NC. Didn’t have much in the way of off road mods.Had to hunt for them. Later had a supercharger installed and several other items. I sold the Tacoma 4x4 10 years later saw the truck several times 3 years ago. Only problem I had was binding of the rear differential. Placed a 3 degree wedges under the leaf springs. Ran this truck a few times in Uwharrie Mountains,NC. No problems.
Yeah great review and very enlightening. I must say the biggest market is custom tuned for great street ride and low to medium wheeling on pretty much slightly lifted vehicles with bigger tires. Bit like the VW Beetle of shock demand. My Jeep has MC springs, shocks and arms but boy I just cannot get a good ride. Might start with a Go Pro strapped on and watch wheel travel when hitting certain street potholes. I want a ride like the ZR2 Colorado. Perfect right out of the box.
Thanks! The ZR2 shocks are likely tuned very close to that trucks weight and suspension geometry, also cheating since its IFS. Unless you custom valve a shock for a built Jeep, you are just using generic Jeep shocks that fit the total lift. For some thats not a problem and does the trick, but for a few extra bucks it will really allow you to enjoy the vehicle a lot more. Not sure what Jeep you have, but if you're looking to make a change I'm sure we have some options for you. Let us know!
so can we see a direct, apples to apples comparison, take 2 identical jeep/trucks except for yours vs say other big brand, FoX, Bilstein, etc.
We just published a video and article that compares Fox/King/Ride shocks. It goes into great detail, I will share a link below. This is a great way to compare quality and explain a few of the differences that allow Ride Shocks to perform better. As for video of watching the same vehicle driving off-road with the different shocks, I think thats a very difficult thing to show while being honest. Ride quality is subjective and really something you need to experience while driving. However, we do plan to get more video of these shocks in action. Be sure to subscribe to @Rideshocks channel to see more. ruclips.net/video/bHCwpKKAffQ/видео.htmlsi=S6QCndT837myCU_0 accutuneoffroad.com/articles/fox-vs-king-vs-ride/
Is that a SAVVY front bumper?
It sure is! Aluminum Savvy front bumper
@accutune what would you recommend for the new Land Cruiser or GX550 for a 2.5 set up?
Thats a pretty new vehicle, so not too many options available yet. However, I know King has front and rear shock options currently.
Also I feel no difference in the clicker adjustment either on the kings.
I bought a set of kings from you guys earlier this year for my 2023 Tacoma , I have wanted kings for years, but I am severely disappointed with the ride. Very harsh doesn’t ride better than stock at all, the only benefit is the lift. I feel like I got scammed out of 5k !
Please get in touch with our sales team, we are happy to re-evaluate your setup and address the issues you have. We're also more than happy to revalve the shocks for free. Please send over an email or give us a call when you have a minute. Sales@accutuneoffroad.com | 619-722-8555
the piston of king for a 4runner coming in linear or disgresive ?
On the current King 2.5s, they should be coming with linear pistons.
Where’s the package for 24 Tundra?
Not yet available, but in the works.
I get my King Carli's on this upcoming week. SO excited.
What about on road driving?
GOD'Z GREAT...THANKS BY LEGENDS IN PORTUGUESE! OK...🎉🎉🎉
Great video Ryan
You developed arguably one of the best shock brands to meet the market since king and fox, you don’t need to suck anyone off anymore, if your shock is better just say it. Everyone has kings they suck on OE applications which is 90%plus of the consumer but everyone has them so they just follow. Fox is the guy at the office that has won sales men of the year consecutively, employee of the month consecutively but at this point is washed up and just shows up. Their 2.0s are trash and need tuning before they even make it on the vehicle, overpriced and cheap. A call to orielly’s will yield a 3 dollar strut and 5 dollar whore that gives a better ride. Getting ready to order a set, ride shocks for the win !
Thanks for the positive feedback about Ride Shocks!
I think because Accutune's business model for almost a decade is customizing and improving the tuning each brand to work well per application, you don't want to throw that out the window, notice accutune is really comparing their shock to the tuned version of orange or blue. If it was an out of the box comparison with standard tuning the results would vary. And to your point 2.0s don't have much value, ride tuning is all over the board per application, but the bushings and shaft quality are my main complaints.
How come nobody talks about sway away?
who? ;)
@@accutuneoffroad Sway away race shocks. I have them on my f150.
@@1FiftyOverland I was mostly kidding. Not sure why no one talks about them.
They've been on life support since AFE bought them; scorned every dealer they ever had.
Cause they suckkkk
what do people mean when they say they got their shocks tuned? I have a jeep tj on 3.5 inch jks lift, which use jks shocks. Will FoX or anything makee my on an off road more comfortable/controlled?
Great question. So up until now, shock manufacturers have been offering a "one size fits all" shock for specific vehicles. A Jeep shock for example is designed to bolt in and function for that model in its stock form. Its typically a "good enough" tune. A "tune" is comprised of a piston and unique set of valving (shims). When you start adding weight to the vehicle or changing to lifted springs, the tune/valving inside the shocks may not be ideal for that new weight. Custom Tuning is a combination of addressing spring rate and internal valving to fit a specific vehicle. Custom tuning a shock will help performance and ride quality in a big way. This concept has really been taken from the off-road racing world and brought to general consumer. Not all shocks are tunable though. We will custom tune Fox, King, Ride shocks with remote reservoirs. If you purchase shocks directly from us, we will custom tune them for free with purchase. If the ride quality with your Jeep is not that great, we can certainly help out. Feel free to send out sales team an email and we can look into options for you. Sales@accutuneoffroad.com
Sold on the rides
I always wondered why my bilstein 8112 DSC shocks felt different when they get too hot. Since the oil is flowing easier when hot I’ll try increasing the compression and see how it does.
When do the universal ride shocks come out? Need to replace my 2.5 kings lol, bypasses anytime soon?
Universal fit coilovers, smooth body shocks and bypasses are definitely on the list, just not sure when.
Now just need Ride Shocks for my 2024 Land Cruiser 250 😃
Those Foxs look soooooooo good
Dirt King????
Elka vs Dirt King breakdown and differences would be interesting. because I feel like dirt king claims proprietary features but are always vague and cryptic about it in ads. Then again I think dirt king would provide more client support being a niche line of business.
We’ve enjoyed our Dirtking 2.0 and 2.5 with DSC shocks. We run both setups on 2 different tundras 2016s.
Great job Guys!! Loving my Kings you tuned for me. Keep killing it!🤘🏻
Thank you!!
Ride all the way!!
waiting to see if you guys come out with Extended Travel RS and 12" Rears for Tacos, will love to compare with my current FOX 2.5 DSC Per Elite series
Our Tacoma front coilovers are considered extended travel, if you check out the article on our site, we show the shock lengths. As for the 12" rear smooth body shock, that is definitely something we have on our list! Thanks
@@accutuneoffroad I will wait then!!Thanks
Fuck Yeah guys keep Killing it!! 🤘🏻
ok i have a 2024 tacoima trd sport i bought a RC 1.5" can i run it with factory suspention. i just talked to one of you guys about shocks he told me you guys are located in el cajon i told i was stationed in camp pen anyways???
Is the RC 1.5" a spacer lift like we show in this video? If so, we don't recommend them if you are wanting a lift with improved ride. More details about spacer lifts discusses here: accutuneoffroad.com/articles/spacer-lift-vs-preload-spacer-vs-coilover-preload/
The. How come you guys never recommended them for me
Depending on budget and application, they can be overkill and not needed. Bypasses like you see in this video are designed for custom builds with custom shock mounts and suspension. Really depends on the vehicle and goals. We don't want to sell you expensive shocks if you don't need them.
I’m getting back into what’s now called “Over Landing” after 25 years. Lol Happy I found your company and goods! I have a twin of your truck in this video. If I may ask, what is that truck’s set-up? I have a 2023 with factory leveling kit upgrade, on 265x70.5x16 Wildpeaks. I’m very much interested in your shocks and set-up! I especially like the aluminum living on the coast! Thanks!
Awesome! Getting out and exploring is a ton of fun, happy to hear you are getting back into it. We actually have a full breakdown video of our Tacoma, the only difference from this video to now, is we have Ride Shocks on it. Take a look here: ruclips.net/video/eOBfr4sAXOg/видео.htmlsi=BCPzihByzaJ2Ag-n
U bolt flips do nothing for your truck,a waste of time. The pumpkin is still the same height from the ground.
I would agree you don't need a u-bolt flip kit to gain massive ground clearance, but that is just a bonus feature you get with our complete kit. I think the most important benefit to our kit is the different height spacer options. This is important so you don't bottom out the shock prematurely. Softer than stock bump stop is the second best feature.
I have the Ride shocks on my 3rd gen Tacoma. I had the OE Bilstein TRD OR shocks, then off the shelf Fox Factory Race 2.5's with remote reservoirs, and then finally the Ride setup. I was debating going with an AccuTune tuned Fox Elite DSC series setup, but decided to trust the expertise and experience of Ride and their new shock line. Happy to report, the Ride shocks are fantastic. The build quality is impressive, and the damping profile is spot on for the application. The adjustment range of the DPA's is really nice for fine tuning the shocks to the surface conditions and load, especially on the rear of the truck where I have been playing around with them the most. Something not touched on in the video, but highly recommended, are the optional Seal Saver covers for the front coilovers. If you are looking to upgrade your suspension and trust in AccuTune's reputation, then you should definitely try the Ride shocks.
Awesome feedback, thank you for sharing! You're right about the Coil Savers. Those a very cheap way to keep your coilovers in great shape, especially during harsh winter months. Enjoy those new shocks!!
Thanks for the additional scoop!
What would happen if you accidentally put the factory washers back on?
I would recommend they get removed. The UCA is designed to not use those washers, so thread engagement on the bolt may be limited and you may not be able to get accurate torque specs.
How does the Ride Shocks’s hose compare to the Fox hose? Do you guys make any LT shocks with Ride Shocks?
Same construction, but most of Fox OEM fit shocks use a -8 hose (1/2") and Ride Shocks uses -10 (5/8"). Ride Shocks doesn't have anything specific for LT kits yet.
Thanks for the vid. I’ve been playing with my kings with Fox for the first time, without really knowing wth I’m doing. Gotta better understanding on what’s happening now. Cool beans man.
Awesome! Glad we could help
Looks like what is a king hose and what’s the other?
Blue King Shock hose is 3/8" (-6 hose) Black Ride Shocks 5/8" (-10 hose)
For a second there I thought that was a lightsaber lol😂
The Bump stops came on the Front kings am I right?
Yes that is correct. Both Fox and King come standard with shaft bumpers.
I got a 15 tundra with a 7 inch bds lift and fox coil overs on the front, where can I buy replacement springs? I have one broke on the drivers side and cant confirm if the ones I’m finding online are the correct ones or not
I would start by contacting BDS since they make the kit and have specific shocks from Fox.
Any shops near Shreveport Louisiana?
We only have one location in San Diego CA.
These are sick! Think I’m gonna order up a set and get them on my rig
Hell yea!
I'm looking to get a 2.5-3" lift on my 3rd Tacoma. But have future plans of getting super pacific camper. What do you recommend?
Good question. It really depends on your goals now and how long until you plan to upgrade. If there are no immediate plans, we would suggest upgrading the suspension for its most common weight. Depending on the added weight later on, you may need to swap springs and get the shocks revalved for the new weight. If you were to buy suspension now for the heavy weight you do not have yet, the truck will ride very stiff and wont be comfortable.
Since you guys have put all the work in upfront to offer specifically tuned shocks out of the box for different vehicle weights, would you advise against going with the further accutune offerings of the adventure tune? or is there still benefit of selecting the adventure tune on your site?
Adventure Tune will be the standard of how they come. This is by far the most common tune so we made it the standard, unless there is a situation where the vehicle and owner want something more aggressive. The DPA adjusters really help stiffen up the shocks for more aggressive off-roading, so we don't recommend the Dual Sport Tune very often. Dual Sport Tune will handle much more aggressive off-roading, but you will give up some daily driver comfort by doing so.
@@accutuneoffroad sounds great thank you for the response!
When are the 12/14" smoothies coming for the guys with rear shock relocations?
Its on the list of shocks to get handled, but I think we have a few more OEM applications to knock out first. Certainly is on the list though so keep an eye out.
You guys have offerings for 2nd gen colorados?
Nothing for Ride Shocks, but we do have some options with Fox or King: accutuneoffroad.com/product-category/vehicle-specific-products/chevrolet/chevrolet-colorado-2016-2015/
Would love a sponsor from these guys. Looking to change out my Fox 2.5s on my 3rd gen and these look slick and well thought out
Looks great!
Thank you!
