San Diego County - South Carlsbad Beach Hike

We all like a simple walk along a Southern California Beach. To enjoy terrific views from the bluff top above the beach, hikers wander through a campground. Rounded stones make the walking slightly difficult on the south end of the beach. Take some time to watch the surfers. I recommend taking off your shoes & wading through the water. @@hikingthegoldenstate6142 always do. Thank you Carl.
Very nice! Thank you!!
Thank you very much. You are welcome.
💛...looks like a great wildflower hike...
Yes, there were some nice wildflowers. Not masses of them but an interesting mix.
Thanks. Great idea. I can walk to the train from my house and make the hike.
It was a great add-on to the day's adventure. I was able to ride free.
Thank you!
You are welcome. Thank you for watching the video.
A beautiful hike. Thank you for sharing 😊
Appreciate your feedback. Thanks for watching the video.
Lovely shots my friend, hike looks and feels great!
It was a terrific day hike. A long but mostly level hike.
💛...definitely thankful for the foresight to include openspaces in an urban environment...
You know, I think Marin County has more hiking trails than any other County in the State.
Nice documentation and narration. Merci.
Those are not remnants to an old miners cabin do some research
We're planning our trip there tomorrow specifically to study the ecology of the park and your video was absolutely perfect! It's made us super excited to visit. Thanks for sharing!!
Our hiking group has been there many times over the years. Beautiful park.
💛...looks like it's recovered from a fire well...i hope big basin's restoration is coming along too...
Thanks for watching the video. The recent fire that hit Big Basin did not affect Portola Redwoods. The Park and hills were solid, healthy trees. It's amazing how quickly California's natural area recover from fires.
Nice trail and lots to see along the way for an observant eye. Thank you for sharing and have a fabulous day 😊
Glad that you liked the video. My best wishes for many happy hiking adventures.
🌲🌲🌲 Thank you for another relaxing video at a beautiful destination. I grew up nearby. Portola State Park is in the Santa Cruz Mountains, but it is in San Mateo County, just to the north of Santa Cruz County. Thank you for the Crayfish information. I was told that several of the water companies put them in Bay Area lakes and streams as a monitor species - if they flourished, the water wasn't too bad. I did not know that the were not native to this area.
Thanks for watching the video. The crayfish is from the Pacific Northwest. California had endemic crayfish species but they were surplanted by the introduced species.
Just double checked and you are correct, the State Park is in San Mateo County. I'll fix it. Thank you for calling my error to my attention.
Its nice to see you hiking again, thanks for sharing your videos with us
Hi, glad that you like the video. I've been hiking, just not producing videos. My regular life got in the way. I have raw material for the next several weeks. Going to Mammoth Lakes this Friday to do some more hiking.
What a wonderful day in nature, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching the video. Glad that you liked it.

Thanks for the compliment. My channel is not monetized. I put together these videos as a hobby.

I love that place. The wildflowers are so beautiful.
Hi, great to hear from you. Thanks for watching the video.
Did you see any deer on the hike?
Wonderful waterfall and great hike. Thank you for sharing 😊
Much appreciated. You are welcome.
💛...beautiful and spectacular are gross understatements for the flowers and falls...
There are so many wonderful places to discover in California. Thanks for your comment.
Very nice video and hike. FYI it’s Back Creek Trail not Black Creek Trail. That’s a long hike you made…well done!
💛...the flowers make it a beautiful time to hike...
Nice hike 👍
Thank you for bringing us along on the hike and for the wildflower labels.
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. 👍6
Nice hike and video 😊Beautiful scenery
The metal bridge you walked over was not left behind. There had been a wooden timber trestle there. By the 1980's it was mostly a wreck. You could walk down and cross upstream or go over the lower portion of the timbers. Walking was easier. The bridge you walked over has entirely replaced the old Railroad trestle. It looks like both used the same foundations. Great film, thank you.
Thanks for the info. Really appreciate your feedback. I apologize for making a wrong assumption. Thanks for watching the video.
Underrated video!
Thanks for watching the video.
💛...my curiosity begs me to ask...is there a little carl?...also, what's the connection with bigfoot in southern california?...not too much elevation change on this hike...i like it...
Thanks for watching the video. Nope, I had three daughters. My one grandson is named Spencer. He was with me on the hike but did not want to be in the video. Couldn't find an explanation for the big foot statute.
looks bigger than I thought
It's big. The hike up and back down are very difficult because of the steep angle and loose cinders. Thanks for watching the video.
Thank you BC!
Simply gorgeous presentation my friend! Place is gorgeous 👏👏
Beautiful setting for a hike
Nice video. Thank you. 👍
Thank you for sharing the video of a very beautiful national park walk and pleasant nature
Good video! You sure can hike far!!
Amazing upload, professional and talented editing 👏👏
Nice!
Thanks for watching the video
🌲 🌲 🌲 🌲 🌲 Thank You for all the wonderful destinations. I enjoy all the plant and trail information. My only suggestion or request would be that it stay on the screen for 1 or 2 more seconds. I have to pause and start the video to get the information and it interrupts the flow of the video. Maybe I need to read and comprehend faster - The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our RUclips creators, but in ourselves. I also enjoy your subtle background music selections. Thank you again for taking the time to make these videos. 🌲 🌲 🌲 🌲 🌲
It is a beautiful State Park very much worth a visit. I don't know that Jack London 'preserved' the Redwood tree as much as it was not in the way of his planting of thousands of Eucalyptus trees in one of his failed get rich quick schemes. Thank You for bringing us along on your adventures.
Thank you for watching the video. I appreciate your refinement. You enter the historic ranch through one of the Eucalyptus groves.
