I mean as we speak I’m watching this video on an Xbox One S. It’s from 2017, pushing 8 years old now. It works fine, I play newer titles “that actually interest me” and none have recently. All my friends have Series X. They want me to get one so bad, but why? A couple extra frames? Ik my tank of an S is old now but I’ll get an X in time. But that’s the issue. There’s no good titles but maybe 2 on the X that is new and worth it.

The next gen cant even manage what a hugh end PC From 8 years ago could do, its almost 2025 and both big boys still cant even do 120fps @ 1440p with acceptable settings in most of their titles. When i say good games i mean : Fully new IP / Remake ( adding a number or a subtitle to a title does mean new game it means lazy devs : No CoDs No Fifas ) Runs well on day one Is not gimped by mtx in order to complete or compete Does not require you to always be online in order to play any SP content Is finished You can play it independently of DLC and Updates.

As a Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck user in 2024, it’s so sad, disappointing and heartbreaking to see the epic downfall of Microsoft and Sony after the glory days of 5th, 6th and 7th console generation! And from here on out, I’m going to be buying games when they’re on sale at the Nintendo eShop and/or Steam Store or if there’s cheap steam keys to buy them on websites unless I really want to buy them at full price and I’m really interested in the games that I really want to play despite what everyone else thinks about those games at the end of the day!

I think part of the problem with gen 9 is that graphics improvements are gonna have diminishing returns, the next level would probably make consoles insanely expensive. So now we’re stuck with what’s essentially just upgraded 8th gens in a world where battlefront, battlefield, uncharted, etc have graphics that are about as good as what’s on the ps5/xbox

It's really sad how the last Need for Speed game i bought full price was Hot Pursuit remastered, the modern need for speed games never caught my attention, a lot of them felt the same to me, i really miss that time when Need for Speed games used to take risks like Prostreet, Hot pursuit, Shift, Rivals, after that it just feels like they're jingling keys to the Blackbox era fanboys by referencing something about Most Wanted all the time

I don't know why it's taken as a negative that there are fewer exclusives now than ever. It makes games more accessible and your console of choice is now just a matter of preference on what ecosystem you want to be in and for your library continuation. I don't think this generation not having as many exclusives is a bad thing at all.

Somehow, Nintendo was the ONLY company who knew that we've essentially hit the roof in terms of graphical capability.

Consoles are computers for people who cannot afford real computers, I have both 🤣🤟There is nothing wrong with the games available, they play very well. I, like you love gaming in all aspects, I’ve been playing games for what seems my whole life, pretty sure I started out on a Sinclair spectrum, amstrad 464 added to that, Atari original console, I’ve pretty much had them all. I think people think about this subject too deeply, get a game, load it up, play it. The future is always coming and with it comes change, people inherently hate change.

On the Xbox side i completely agree. It’s the first time I’ve ever regretted buying a system but this is for sure the last Xbox I buy. All i use it for is Tetris and i occasionally sub to game pass to play an exclusive or 3rd party game. Ps5 however i think is fine. Especially this year (2024). I’ve bought a bunch of their exclusives. All that’s missing is naughty dog. But the controller is cool, the system features are dope, The vr2 is impressive and you’re not treated like a 2nd class citizen missing out on games at launch. The WORST thing about PlayStation this Gen is the psn price hike. $80 and we got jack shit for it. They can go f themselves with that price point
