Yet another person playing this who says calvary instead of cavalry. Are you religious so you only heard about Calvary (where Jesus was supposedly crucified), but you somehow never heard of cavalliers or cavalry (a horse-mounted military unit)?

At 53:28 you take the bonus of the two sailing and deploy two Vikings to that F island. But since you have more Vikings than the AI now, wouldn’t it lose a Viking?

I’m not a big solo player but I have been looking to see how the Valkyrie and giants and stuff play. Do you think it’s better to play the base game of this first? Or should people jump straight in with the expansion stuff?

Thanks for the playthrough! Unfortunately there wasn't much about the solo on this one so it's one of the few TE games I did not back. But in the past I have created public mods (specifically TED) with the PNP files with permission from Gamelyn so I was wondering if there was any chance you would publish this one? I would love to give it a shot to see if I want to go late pledge it.

I have a question: @31:15 you say IBO can't found a city adjacent to one of yours. But i can't find this rule anywhere in 1.5 version. Did you change it?

Really a great solo mode. I already played it twice this weekend. I have 2 questions: what happens if IBO loses its last city ? Where goes the Settler in this case?

Excelent playthrough mate. Very well explained every step. I realized I'm doing a couple of things wrong when playing with this solo rules. I'm a mainly solo player, and I see you give some love to solo playthroughs in your channel, so you got a new subscriber :) EDIT: I see this is not a very active channel. I'll stay anyway. I'd like to watch the rest of solo playthroughs.

I know this is an old video, but a nice tip for new players, Leave completed missions face UP when you tuck them behind your player mat so that you can see the mission type. It will help you later on if you need to use one as a reroll if you can see what types you have already completed.

Wow, I'm SO impressed by your solo variant. I can't wait to give it a try! Just a question/suggestion : when Ibo rolls for choosing a new ADVANCE, why doesn't he give priority to the ones on his Civilization board? What I'm thinking to do : Ibo rolls 3 dice as per your rules, but before resolving the 3rd die he looks if there's any advance in that category that is a pre-requisite for an advance on his Civilization board. If there's one, he would select it (without resolving the 3rd dice). Do you think that would make sense?

Nice one, thank you for the how to play. I recommend that you put how to play in the title as it does not appear in the search on youtube. I found it through bgg because all the videos of the how to play were not that detailed as yours. Also for the people watching this, i would recommend to increase the watch speed, it will save you some time and its still super watchable...

FANTASTIC video, really comprehensive, PRACTICALLY demonstrating some rules that are confusing in the rulebook. Only constructive feedback would be audio is very quiet, and I wish it could be done in 20mins, so that my friends could watch it before playing (they have very short attention spans!) We made a house rule that Gate Sectors can only be commissioned by players for $5k credits and they can't be built within 2 sectors from each other. This ensures that they're sufficiently spread out and are useful to any player who wants to pay for them.

So here I am looking for an instructional video that I can send to a couple of friends on how to play Xia, and I load up this video to find... on all of RUclips from around the world... Dan, my best gaming buddy, doing the tutorial! I was just like... well, there's Dan. Hahaha!
