I love watching you save these abandoned Beetles. We had a 1302S back in the eighties! Pretty rare then, let alone today!

The numbers wrote on the block are the wrong way round, number 3 cylinder is close left back to the flywheel .

I had a 1302S in 1985 paid £75 for it had it two years and sold it for £265 not bad ! EMY 646J.

based on what I see, this car was cut into many pieces before being tossed into that hole... and it wasn't the only car in there.

That blue beetle with the orange interior , the one you said was dug out of London … I’ve a slight feeling it might be a European Jeans beetle, the marathon wheels and the orange colour ? YOu know how after a plane crash, the investigators will take every piece they can find, and will try to reconstruct the plane to see if they can find out what happened? That would be cool to see if you can reconstruct this one, see how much of it is actually there. Obviously, this is way beyond restoration, but putting i backt together into something Beetle-shaped could be fun.

Great bit of Karcheology. The quality of the steel of those ovals was better than the later ones. If it was a 70s bug, that floorpan would have vanished by now.

I have seen some epic rust repairs on English U tube channels but i honestly think this one doesn't even reach "parts car" status .😁😁

The button on the floor looks like the dip/main beam button all old cars had these in that position.

i have a late 67 its a pain to find bits for and the tank is weird but it at least has the front disc brakes

I've had at least 5 66 Beatles all had the 1300 engine with 5 lug wheels I also had 7 67s all had 12 v stand up head lights 5 lug wheels and all had 1500 engines plus the 67's are one inch wider at the axles than the 66's
