🤫🌟 how to get predicted 40 ib points
Nice video. Very helpful. Can you please tell me if a switch from CBSE curriculum (9th class) to IBDP is recommended? CBSE is the traditional Indian curriculum focused on content retention... While IBDP is so very different. Would it be a huge learning curve? Pls shed some light... Thanks
5/7 in business, 5/7 in english a l&l sl, 5/7 in spanish ab initio sl, 7/7 in biology hl, 7/7 in mathematics aa sl, 6/7 in chemistry hl - these are my semester grades as of my grade 12 November midterms (was at 6 for business and english before this in class tests). I want to work up to a 39/42 and I know I can because I went from a 28/42 in the starting of grade 12 to 35/42 now in my midterms within 5 months. I want a 7/7 in business, 6/7 in English. 6/7 in Spanish and I'll be sorted. Could you please give me any tips as to how I can get my predicted scores up? I'll have one month and that is December to do so as my applications are due January 1st and I will not be able to get into the universities I'm aiming for with my grades. Maybe I can ask for some extra assignments/tests or something like that??
hii i have a full video on predicted grades up on my channel which might help - other than that i would really just recommend speaking to your teachers, especially if its only going up by 1 grade. if you explain that you need these grades for uni applications and are ready to put in extra effort they may be more willing to help you improve or bump up your grade :)
I'm so proud of you jasmine! You're literally academic and beauty goals <3
aww that's so sweet thank you!
hi, do you have any tips on applying to EPP; I am a prospective student looking for advice. thank you !
let’s do more day trip vlogs together in final year 😩🐐
definitely!!! 🥹
best vlog ever 🤩🤩, this made me so nostalgic, the wasp part was funny 😣
Is savemyexams a good resource to use for the IB? Specifically physics SL
May you send the excel sheet and does it work for M25
?
i would suggest making your own based on the textbook you're following, i'm not completely sure if the topics on mine would be the same for M25
What was your predectives? Did it not effect your college admission process even though you got good in your finals?
You cute
do you mind doing an in depth video on EPP and how you find it i’m currently thinking of applying for it but i havnt seen alot of people talk about it x
yes definitely planning on doing one! if you have any specific questions feel free to message me on tiktok @ jq4ss

Hi, I'll take the Nov 24 exams and your video helped me a lot!!! However, I'd like to know if you could share your timetable, like your organisation to study for the exams. I'm quite lost in where to start
for my main subjects i did a similar method as in this video where i allocated a few topics per day, working through the harder ones first - i didn't have a specific daily timetable but i would track all of my study time for motivation. good luck with your exams!
Gurl how did u got a 7 in maths😭please spill the tea
i have a full video on ib math advice up on my channel!
I have anxiety and I can get overworked easily, should I apply?
I made a full video recently on whether I think IB is worth it, but it comes down to whether you feel you’ll benefit more from doing IB than not (esp looking ahead to uni applications) - it is definitely a challenge and can get overwhelming sometimes but as long as you have a good support system & manage your time decently well it’s totally doable :)
@@jq4-s Thank you, for my school we have to apply in 8th grade and it’s stressing me out because IB is only during junior and senior year. I’m like what will I be like by then I’m not going to be the exact same, we all evolve and I don’t know where I’ll be.
how many times in a year do ibdp schools take exams? do they take unit tests? pls answer as i'm joining the IB next year <3
it depends on the school bc everything except for the finals is internal - typically the big exams would be at the end of y1, mock exams before the finals in y2, and then the actual finals. I had unit tests for most subjects, some also had end of term tests. but anything apart from the finals & IAs is pretty much just going towards your predicted grades + school report card
@@jq4-s are the school exams format similar to the ib final exams?
Very informative I am an IB tutor and it is very hard to find past papers
yeah it can be difficult! if you’re with a company I believe some of them give access to past papers for the tutors
this is my comfort video.
What was your ib result
Hey Jasmine! I want to also study in the UK and I am wondering how do you afford this? Did you receive any scholarships, grants etc.?
hi! you could look into scholarships which some unis do, or student loan is another option
@@jq4-s 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Love your video! Do you have to have coins for laundry or is it contactless?
thank you! i always paid contactless, not sure if they take coins actually
I would respectfully disagree that grades are not that important for the beginning of DP 1. I believe that it is important to have that mindset to become the best version of yourself and when you say that grades do not matter that much that will negatively influence students and not encourage effort at the beginning that will be beneficial in the long run.
I definitely agree that building that mindset is really important! I’ve found that especially at the beginning it’s so easy to get caught up on wanting a 7 on everything and overly stressing when the number itself doesn’t matter as much as the way you approach academics - so ofc putting in effort is important, but not to the point of being stressed about grades already at the start of ib
I'm 2 weeks in to being a highschooler in the IB programme and I wanted to see if I'd regret my desicions.. This kinda helped so thanks 😊
Hii. Thank u for sharing the video. This was super helpful!! What’s some stuff u recommend definitely getting from home before moving in?
hii i’d say beyond the obvious stuff, the essentials are a good quality mattress topper, storage, a laundry basket, bath mats, and clothing hangers. any photos/decor from home, a lamp, and room spray can also be nice! tbh you can buy most stuff either at birmingham/coventry, or get it for cheap from campus second-hand sales
I was wondering how do predicted grades work, how much on average they differ from final ib scores, and how to deal with unfavourable grades? I enjoy your content!
hii i did a full video on predicted grades a while back :) how much they differ from final grades is entirely dependent on your school and how accurate/fair your teachers predict, as well as how much effort you put in to improve your grades between then. if you’re not happy with them you could discuss with your teachers if they’re willing to bump it up (esp if you can’t apply to a certain uni bc of it) - other than that it’s really just focusing on improving by finals!
Really interesting insights! Awesome video!
thank you!
Also do universities care more abt HL subjects and if so is not just better to do those subjects eg for a levels in the uk doing 3 subjects if unis don’t care abt SL ones. What’s the benefit of doing those extra subjects
yeahh for this reason I do think a-levels could be better suited to uk unis - for uni applications which SL subjects you take don’t really matter (depending on the course ofc) but doing well in them boosts your overall score. content-wise it's unlikely you'll use all 6 subjects at uni (especially SLs), though you could argue it helps you develop better time management/soft skills than taking only 3 subjects
What course/subject did u do at uni and to what extent did IB help u with that
i’m doing a joint degree in bsc econ, psych and philosophy - so in terms of actual subject content I found IB math, econ, and business to be helpful. for skills i think IB bio and english literature also helped with things like learning scientific processes for psych & writing skills for philo - so everything does link together! spanish is really the only IB subject I haven’t used lol
Damn, i am going to start my junior year in September 2024. Omg this is my motivation and like you said it is quite a rolarcoaster! I watched the other videos too and your progress is going well. THANK YOU!!! CONGRATS
aww thank you!! good luck ☺️
Thank you so much!!! Really helpful vid
you did so well!! congratulations! 🤩🎉
Hey, are you able to share that google doc of resources you talked about, like comment the link or something, I would love to take a look
hii unfortunately i have no idea where it is, it's been like 3 years since i made it🥲 in any case most of it would be outdated by now
my school's deadline for the FINAL EE submission is in December 😭😭😭😭
mine was as well! i just rushed it in november which was not a great idea😭
what degree are you studying???
ppe
i do epp - economics, psychology & philosophy!
It is easier
I love watching ur videossss, pls could you make one on how as an international student you got into warwick and if you did, any scholarships as well tyyy
yes will do! if you're an international student you can look into the warwick global excellence scholarship

Hi! I'm going into IB Y2 and I just wanted to ask you if you have any tips/resources for economics because I really struggled with it in Y1 (esp P2). Thank you so much for making these videos, they're really helpful!!
currently planning a full video on econ advice which should be out in the next few weeks!
Bro my I’m starting ib year 2 tomorrow, Why am I seeing this only now 😭😭😭
sameeee. im starting my year 2 in 3 weeks. good luck!
ahh good luck!!
Hi!! As someone who is going to start her IB journey this year, I am so grateful that you shared your experiences and resources with us :) I have the same electives as you, Bio, Econ and BM haha Once again, Thank You Jasmine!!
good luck with ib!!
Can you do a video on how you applied and what your PGs were? What are the actual cut off scores for an IVY league universities?I heard that 38+ is generally considered good. But from your experience and your classmates, what is the realistic pgs score you would say out of 42? (* not inclusive of the TOK and EE points*)
yes i can definitely do a video about my uni applications! unfortunately i didn't apply to the US so i can't help much with that, sorry
My results are tomorrow any tips 😢
ahh good luck!! just remember that no matter what happens you’ve worked super hard to finish the ib, and your score really doesn’t matter later on ahah
I can’t understand I’m going to start my Ib this year But why do we need that many resources, don’t we have teachers at school to explain lessons?????
if you have really good teachers then yes, you probably won’t need many resources, but chances are there will be at least one subject where what your teacher provides just isn’t enough - also you’ll need more than just teachers’ lessons when it comes to revision for final exams
hey I got a 35 at the end of my DP 1 is that good enough??
Congratulation!!! I have economics HL, Math AIL HL and Spanish B SL and girl i'm struggling in math and Spanish so bad do you know any study methods or resources that can help me out??? I've just finished IBDP-1. i'll be in DP 2 in a few months and I need all the help I can get<3
for spanish i found immersion to be super important - i watched 200+ hours of spanish movies + tv shows (always spanish subtitles, sometimes spanish audio too) which helped so much with vocab, understanding fast speech, speaking naturally etc, and it’s super fun hehe for math i’d suggest revision village, getting a tutor + consistent practice above anything - i have a full video on ib math up on my channel :)
wait i j clocked this is only a day. it feels like a week has passed you've done so much!!!
that looks amazing, we need more vlogs!!!!
