This short video illustrates what we saw and photographed during our four hour visit to the WWT Arundel Wetland Centre on December 3rd, 2024. It was considerably more productive than I had anticipated with several glimpses of a Kingfisher, a Heron and a Little Egret as well as numerous Greylag and Canada Geese. We also saw a Kestrel, a Sparrowhawk and a number of Cormorant and Tufted Duck. I ho...

I enjoyed what i saw, especially the Great White Egret, Cattle Egret, Great Crested Grebe, Lapwing and Tufted Ducks as well as a variety of insects. A very enjoyable location and i was surprised at how few visitors I saw during the time i was there.

    Brilliant video, thanks for sharing. 2 years later I was there for not only the 1000km race but also both the F1 British GP and the race of champions, and there started a love of Motorsport as a 10 year old that continues to this day. You can find me there most weekends throughout the year as I’m now an annual season ticket holder

    Hello, can I ask was the shot of the damselfly taken at 400 mm?. Also were they taken at the closest focusing distance? Can you still get close enough with the new 180-600 mm to attempt dragonflies and butterflies without much cropping. Phil

    Delicious film, very good... a circuit very suited to the skills of Jacky Ickx who also won here in Formula 1 beating Niki Lauda in the rain. Note the first time that the Ferrari 312 P, by regulation, had to use bulkheads behind the rear wheels. Interesting the Lola T290 Barclays of Edwards which the following year became the wonderful T292 always with the same sponsor. Great nostalgia!

    Defitenly the 1974 airshow. In 1976 the F-15 Eagle was wearing a bicentennial logo on its tail fins and the Red Arrows had moved on to the Hawk trainer. I remember too the Fokker F-27, F-28 and VFW 614 display very well.

    It's not 1976. I was at the 1976 Farnborough when I was 14 (and an Air Cadet). There was no Lockheed C5 Galaxy or SR71 - these appeared in earlier Farnborough shows, possibly 1972 or 1974. Highlights of 1976 Farnborough were the Grumman F14 Tomcat, McDonnell F15 Eagle (in American Bicentennial colours), Northrop YF17, McDonnell Douglas YC-15 and the Hawker Siddeley Hawk trainer.

I would just like to clarify, this is not a "restoration", it is very much a "new build/replica" making use of just a very few original spare parts and original drawings. Glad you enjoyed the video. Now you have both 180 to 600 and hundred to 400. What would you prefer someone who is starting out on nature and wildlife photograph

    • @SwanSycorax
      @SwanSycorax 7 месяцев назад

      my 100-400 when I bought the 180-600. I loved the 100-400 and wish I could have justified keeping both. Before I sold one and bought the other i had two opportunities to try both lenses back to back and was surprised to find the 180-600 was just as sharp as the 100-400 and when I added the 1.4xTC to the 100-400 the image was not as sharp as the 180-600. As the prime requirement for either of these lenses was wildlife it was a no-brainer as reach is, in my opinion, everything.
