Unboxing Playz Circuit Fun STEM kit!
Just wondering why the kit only come with one cup and 1 spoon if there is 3 crystals to make and no gloves, even though it says in the booklet to wear gloves. Who has gloves lying around? I'm not sure if the shop we bought it from added a massive markup to the manufactured price, cause it was really expensive. For the price it cost those things should've been included.
Oh, and another thing. The picture on the box makes the gemstone specimen seem way cooler than it actually is. The ones in the kit are drab and dull and a sorry excuse of a gem. Definitely falsly advertised.
DO NOT WAIT TO TAKE IT OUT REMOVE SEED IMMEDIATELY I JUST DISINTEGRATED MY FUCKING PURPLE ONE. ONCE OUT OF THE SOLUTION REMOVE IMMEDIATELY DO NOT SOAK IN WATER TO REHYDRATE THE SEED THE CRYSTAL WILL CRUMBLE
Good review. I don't have the kit but am considering it as a gift. I already know Arduino coding learning from using the apps built in examples. The kit's RUclips videos seem a little slow.
But how do you make them if you’re a little kid do you have a daughter?
Today's respect my time. Tomorrow will purchase my time.
Mine won't grow
Very nice build. I am excited for part 2!
Thanks. I need to film that video in the New Year
I hate staying in space for 30 days😢
Then get that ship repaired and launched! 😁
Hi. Your comments are really helpful, and have been a great resource when weighing up if to buy this kit. I am considering one for my father and I to complete together, but worry we wouldn't be able to complete it daily. My expectation is that the kit comprises of 30 lessons, that you can complete at any time, and the '30 day' is an advertising tool to reassure people who want to learn more quickly. Is this the case, I don't want to feel a sense of pressure to complete the days at a particular time?
Absolutely. There is no time limit. You can take a week or as long as you like on each step. In fact I encourage folks to take their time and not rush. It’s more enjoyable that way. And you learn more. It’s a great project to do together.
Cool
Good jod

I've started with this kind of microscope 40 years ago. We had fun for 2-3 hours and never touch it again. Theses toy microscope should be illegal! The optic is very bad especially and almost unusable on high magnification. And the preparation of sample for compound microscope is hard for the target customer (young kids). Instead, parent should buy stereomicroscope. These have a low magnification and a very cool 3D image. But the most important part: the sample preparation is easy. You can put anything like rock, insect, plants, etc. You don't need to slice the sample to get a very thin and homogenous slide. Safer, easier, great first experience in microscopy! Latter, if they still like it and want to know more, maybe a compound microscope like SWIFT350 could be a good idea. But they need to learn how to prepare a sample and know about the structure of what they will look at.
Very good comments. This kit forms a very simple introduction to microscopy and might excite some kids to go further and get better equipment.
@@adventuresci As per my previous comment, I strongly disagree. This kit is not a very simple introduction to microscopy. It's the exact opposite: hard introduction to bad microscopy. They need to know how to properly prepare a slide and nobody will tell them. Sure, they could only look at premade slide.. But even there; they don't know what to looking for! They know the title of the slide, but they don't understand the structure between a kidney slide and a root slide. They all look the same for a novice. Of course, there is obvious difference in colour and shape, but for them, most of the slides are basically random colors and structures, like abstract painting. For a kid, it's too far away from what they already know in their regular world. So, a real "very simple introduction to microscopy" would be a magnification glass (a little bug box or a lens attached to a phone) or a cheap 10-40$ USB microscope that use your phone or computer as the screen. And if you have more money, a 4x-30x stereomicroscope would be my next choice. (don't get confuse between a stereomicroscope and a binocular microscope, theses are two very different type of microscope.) What is your background with amateur microscopy with kids aside selling stuff?
I have no specific microscopy background other than a rounded education in all the sciences. So I won’t dispute your comments. I’m not selling anything by the way. That’s not the purpose of my channel.
Thank you @@adventuresci for your answer and to correct me on the fact that your are not selling theses toy. I'm sorry if any of my comment seem rude, english is my second language and internet is not the best to express precise emotions. Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of channel on DIY amateur microscopy. And there is a lot of misinformation on how to start this hobby. I know parent will prefer to choose a 2500x microscope instead of a 40x stereomicroscope. But 2500x is only marketing since we cannot resolve more than 1500x with the best (+10,000$) optical instrument. With a 200-600$ and proper condenser, we can expect a nice 1000x (even if they are advertised at 2500x). I would suggest MicrobeHunter channel if someone want to learn various beginner knowledge related to microscopy. I encourage you to keep going with promotion of sciences for young and not so young people. You are doing an important job and I appreciate it. Alex from Montréal
@@alexandrevaliquette3883 Thank you for your honest and respectful comment sir! Im trying to buy my 6 yrs old kiddo his first microscope for Christmas and hopefully get a good deal this black friday.... Can you pls share a brand name in specific?
Great vid!
Thanks
I want to learn c++. I’m trying to work out if I should get this or the egeloo kit that’s way cheaper and has more components included
I haven’t tried the elegoo kits yet but it’s a good brand.
😮😮😮
I wonder if they improved the password input to not tip their hand as soon as you make a mistake which would quickly lead you to the correct password. In my opinion, the code shouldn't indicate an incorrect password until all password digits are entered.
Agreed. I don’t recall if the new version addressed that but it’s a cool programming project to make it behave the way you want.
I just built this robot today:) awesome kit.
Very well designed isn’t it? Did you make mistakes like I did? 😁
Fun fact: white blood cells ARE often kind of blobby shaped when they are doing their thing. Accidental accuracy! 😂
Oh. lol. That’s cool to know. I don’t feel so bad now 😁

Very cool! Would have loved to do this as a kid with my father..
Yeah. I had nothing like this growing up
Thank you so much. Very useful.
Glad it was helpful!
This kit is awesome! Recently updated too!
THIS WAS SOOOO HELPFUL... as I was doing mine the details and helpful suggestions!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for doing a review on the update 🙏🏾
Of course!!
Thank you so much for your video! I was thinking of buying a subscription for my niece for her birthday. This really helps to understand what the magazine is like.
@nyssa2244 glad I could help. I hope she enjoys it!
Hello question how do i dispose of every thing whem im done
Unless it says not to on any of the packets, you should be able to put it down the sink and wash it away. You can clean everything in the kit with simple water. None of these chemicals are dangerously to pipes. If any kits you use result in very gloopy, sticky, stringy materials they should not go down the sink because they might stick to the pipe. I soak it up with kitchen roll and put into the trash.
What language is used for the programming
It is a variant of C++, the standard language for the Arduino/hero board. You can program it in Python but that isn’t used in this kit, only C++
Yea
I love this stuff it’s very good
Does the mega set come with cups im worried
Cups? It comes with a reusable crystal growing rubber cup
Do you believe in magic!?
🤪 Promo SM
The counter clockwise issue is a classic troubleshooting lesion. They want you to find and correct the issue either within the code like if it was hard wired, or at the component level. This is a simple trick used for years in electronic engineering teaching, just like flipping a transistor used to be before the addition of more microprocessors. I won my VICA state competition in the 90s with simple troubleshooting because the schematic diagram was wrong on purpose.
Fascinating. I would argue this kit is a little basic and the code too muddled to pull that kind of trick on the user, but that’s just my opinion. Thanks for that feedback though!
@@adventuresci I agree with you fully. Though I have seen them pull it on even simpler kits. Though further research has shown that this issue is rather common with the kits though. I'm thinking of ordering another one to sercomvent the issue.
Thanks for your comment.
uses
I’m glad we already have the kit. It is now $97 which is too high for a lot of families. Will check out new videos though.
Yes, I think it’s gone up about $30. Glad you got it when it was cheaper. Having fun with it?
I have the exact same set, but I have a question, does the brine shrimp eggs come with the kit or do you have to buy them separately? I'm confused rn
Yes the eggs came in one of the several pots in the kit. There are enough eggs to grow a lot of brine shrimp. You can also buy the eggs on Amazon but they are ridiculously expensive there. The eggs are often used for fish food, so perhaps you can try your local pet store that has fish and aquariums?
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Thank you a ton for this video I was taking notes :) glad you enjoyed our kit - Austin Eckman
Thanks for dropping by! I think version 3 addresses all the issues I had from the previous version. Great job with the new videos. This is a great kit.

I tired this it didn’t work bruh
Hello. What went wrong? What happened?
Hi
First review I’ve seen without the actual product being shown
Good point. It was created after the entire series of videos walking through all the lessons in the kit. Guess it could be confusing if you watch this video first, though I do mention the series in this video.
I am going to get one for 145rand tomorrow so I can make it
Great. Please comment later on how your crystals turn out.
Really Nice video!❤I have been thinking about buying a geod kit but it is a bit expensive but I am starting to getting convinced to get it!
I appreciate you doing this video!
Thank you! I recently looked at another crystal growing kit too. The video is a couple of weeks old.
Did you leave the seed rock attached or did you remove it? I'm wondering if they are re-useable or not?
Excellent question. On mine, the seed rock is fully embedded in the base of the crystal. It has a flat bottom. To remove the seed rock might shatter the crystal so I’m not going to try. I wonder if the company would sell you more seed rocks if you asked.
Looks great!
Thanks. The crystals did come out good and look amazing with the flickering light shining through.
Using a camera is a very good idea. 👍 thank you for that suggestion and for helping other viewers.
just bought one they turned out epic
Fantastic! Yes this kit grows nice crystals. Thanks for sharing 😊
What happens if I didn’t wait for it to cool before adding the rock 🪨
