Combat mech is much better. For more carbon destroying nests and harvesting them will give you a great amount.
Thank you for the input and suggestions! Constructing a combar mech and clearing out the bug nests are part of my upcoming goals, as I figure that would be a great way to get the much needed carbon resources in order to continue base upgrades at a better speed. I may also look at some interesting wall upgrades, but for more info on that, you might need to wait a while in order for me to get the required building materials.
Use the day night sensor to turn stuff off like the soldering benches when the survivors sleep. Try be power efficient. Sniper is the best and give it to Connor he shoots twice as fast as the others. Okay now he is gone. Will have to use sensors to turn turrets on and off or power is going to be a nightmare. Drones preform the delivery task/role you can now remove that from the survivors, told you they important. The small mech is nice but If you get a second mech core deconstruct the small one and build the combat mech it’s amazing.

OK---------. I loved the Game Alien Dawn until I realized it is a DEAD END GAME... It is impossible to expand the Coloney as the only time you find additional survivors is when one of the original DIES... and if you send someone HOME to Civilization they are not replaced... While you could build a TRUE Coloney... NO ONE ever Arrives to Colonize the Beuitifull planet adding to your population... no matter how much you have the Planet TAMED and Civilized.... The other problem is while you can get defensive WALKERS, Simple things like Transport trucks or exploration Buggys are impossible to produce ... Even a Simple Primitive Fucking pull-wagon with wheels that any MORON CAN BUILD to increase the productivity of the Survivors is not provided let alone simple powered vehicles... But Walking 30th century Meck Battle tanks are??? ----------. NO!!! I loved the Game but I will NEVER PLAY it AGAIN...!!!!!!
Thank you for your feedback! I do agree that the lack of a simple wagon or cart is majorly felt in the production line, and that some additional expansion into something that could do that would expand a lot, BUT at the same time I also find that the drones provide an automated resource transportation service. I do wish that there was a mode that would allow for way more survivors at the same time, or allow for the arrival of colonists, but I suppose that the goal of the game is to survive and escape the planet, instead of surviving on it. It does not entirely fulfil that niche need of mine to build a thriving colony and to watch the population grow to city-like levels, but it does provide some interesting base building options. For more city-like population content, check out my other series on other colony sim games, with some very interesting options to come in the future as well.
@@Roast_Temp OK... if the whole point of the Game is to rescue all the Survivors..??? How Come only One or Two Survivors ever gets to go home??? No matter how long the game lasts...!!!
@ I'm unsure, this is the first time I've jumped into the game, I'm also still working out and finding out about all the smaller details. I'll have to look into the rescue mechanics and rescue limits some more though.
It was all fine till it was not 😂. Need to get turrets up but use the sensors to turn circuits on when needed to save on electricity. Look at growing energy crystals in hydrophobic as they degrade the soil quality meaning they grow slower each harvest. But really focus on getting drones it will make everything run way more efficient.
There were a few challenges, but all taken care of in due time! Thank you for the suggestions, I did end up doing that with the turrets and sensors in the upcoming videos. As for the hydroponic gardens, there are some big plans in the works for that... I just need to secure enough resources first for that big build idea. Stay tuned for more!

Sending someone with good combat on expeditions improves the chance of getting more survivors in some scenarios. Connor will die after I think four years or so from his eye infection so now the race is on to rescue him. Try get electricity up and use the advanced solar it makes a big difference. Then get the drones as three to four drones can replace all you delivery jobs and you can remove the task from the survivors. Hope you enjoying the game.

Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the game. You are correct! It seems that the best way to go about hunting is to move your settlers nearby to the target before actively setting it as the target of the hunt.
Sorry long comment. Laara as a walk-in man the game likes you she is one of the best survivors. Start farming as soon as possible. Each survivor in time should have their own bedroom and bedrooms should be 5x4 as this gives the survivors a boost. find the cotton blossom as soon as possible as you will need to start making cloths before winter starts or you will not have enough. Cloths take a long time to craft. You also started with very big rooms made out of wood they are more difficult to keep warm in winter maybe next time start with smaller rooms then when you making bricks then you can build bigger rooms with brick. Some mobs can reach the survivors when they are in the towers so I build the towers behind a forties wall and then put a small wall in front of that so that the survivors have two walls between them and the mobs but can still attach anything up against the wall. Research long distance travel as soon as possible, Quin has a great bonus for this. Make gates on all sides and close them the mobs can’t get in but the survivors can pass through. Glad to enjoying the game

Thats the secret, everyone is part of the nobility in Hearthguard ;) allocation of seats are left up to the old tried and tested method of "first come first serve" which seems to have worked so far
Maybe a small town just outside the castle?
Definitely something worth looking at, but for now I'm setting up Stranded for the new Let's Play as per the awesome recommendation!
@@Roast_Temp Cool. For Stranded Alien Dawn when picking your starting survivors focus on their special traits as those make the biggest difference.
I enjoy it when people add attention to detail builds, I love doing it and to me it makes all the difference. Also a barbican or gate house on the other side of the mote would look good.
I agree, the extra details always make a difference. Definitely something that I'm looking to focus more on in future play throughs. These episodes are recorded in advance, especially with the festive season approaching, I've had to record this episode and the coming ones well in advance. It may take some time until the episode showing the defenses is release though, as I've recorded quite a few episodes in advance in preparation for the festive season, but I'll put together an episode to meet your request.

A quick disclaimer : I do not recommend mining in this manner. In fact, mining out specific veins of ore or limestone/clay is much more efficient. This form of quarry mining was extremely tedious and I would never recommend it, and I highly doubt I will ever mine like this again in a future video/playthrough. Keep cooking.

Way to many infantry people, try to make more range people.
Thank you for the feedback. Admittedly majority of the settlers are equipped with melee weapons, but this will be changed to short bows soon, with only the bare minimum equipped with melee weapons. In the far future I will look at setting up training for melee combat and constructing defenses that allow for melee defenders to properly shine.
Defensive towers should always protrude from the wall, that way you can shoot at anyone against the wall or door and creates several angles of attack.
Indeed! Flanking towers that protrude also create situations where enfilade fire from multiple directions can occur upon the attacker's ranks. This can be further enhanced through hoardings or brattice work being built upon the walls, but we haven't reached that point in our settlement yet. This is something which we address in a future video when we look at upgrading the curtain wall. Keep tuned for future updates.

That is correct! It will eventually be a motte and bailey layout, with some additional major features that are planned, but I have not yet revealed those extras. You will have to stay tuned to find out what is in store.
