Bow Season Opening Week Strategy...Scrapes, Acorns, Water, Bedding
Opening Day of Whitetail Archery Season starts October 1st...BuckAlf shares some tips and tricks on how to locate the best treestand or ground blind spot for success on the biggest bucks in the area. The opening week of Archery season is a great time to capitalize on your target buck. How to look for small overlooked food sources, green soybeans ,acorns, corn and water holes. Also Scouting deer scrapes rub lines and bedding areas that work for daylight movement. Trail camera photos confirm the strategy is workin and the big mature bucks are close by.

yes correct I'll end up mowing one more time around Labor Day weekend then stay out for a month till opener. Normally they are a foot tall and weed free by then thanks again man.

I love hunting fruit trees-have some persimmons on the S IL property that I hunt a few times each year and they get gobbled up quickly.

Wow-exciting hunt!! Sometimes that's what it takes. Fortunately he stayed out in that field for you, even coming closer for that third shot. Perfect ground blind. I'm almost strictly a ground hunter and I love finding those brush piles to set up in/around.

I'm surprised I didn't see this earlier-very nice buck!! I also hunt N IL and this past season all I saw right up until 1st gun season were small bucks, and very few does. I'm hoping many of the smaller/in-betweeners I saw this past season really sprout this upcoming season. Good luck to you.

Hello there have to say found your video enjoyable! I'm out here in NE PA and was wondering if the couple of buck u found dead may have had HD disease? Do you shed hunt mostly by water or rivers? In Pa we lot over 20% in some areas due to flooding and flys
Honestly most of the deer I find dead are shot by hunters and never recovered, Or road hits that make it far enough off the road where people can't see them. Everything Im shed hunting for the most part is heavily hunted and we have very low deer numbers so very few die from EHD in our area. Thanks again

I dont like walking in the bedding areas too early, dont wanna bump out the bucks and have them shed elsewhere or further away. I tend to stay close to feeding and along the edges. I find alot of my sheds in staging grassy areas in january.
I'm going in every time post season the information is super important to see. I need to see the exact location of the beds so I can plan for next year access points. All the information is easy too see and sheds are just a bonus lol
