Dude this video reminds me when I was a little kid and I always took the bus home, it was almost always a neoplan!! Gosh I mish there roar. Fly high ✌️

Update: The very last of the 01200 series trains have been taken away for scrap, by Costello Dismantling (West Wareham). But maybe it's not too late to try to save the old MBTA Red Line trains (besides the carbody of 01643 being resold to Core Investments On the Dot). P.S. Why not try to write a letter to Costello Dismantling?

I remember South Station's entrance used to have the same announcement at 1:26, until 2002 when they started running the Silver Line buses and replaced it with the announcement heard at 0:36 (note the voice sounds different)

2006 New Flyer D40LF 0610 is the last one In Service. Buss 0613 0620 0621 0651 0666 0699 0701 0709 0711 are Preserved

Did you check out the 01400s at Codman Yard. The 01400-01491 (92) are rectangular prisomed cars built by Pullman Standard from 1962 to 1963. These were used on the Red Line from 1963 to 1994, replaced by the Bombardier 01800-01885. Cars number 01450 & 01455 went to Seashore Trolley Museum, Kennebunkport, Maine in 1997 remain operatable and vintinge. 01469/01470 01477/01480 got converted to work motors in 1995 remain in property at Codman Yard in Ashmont. Unfortunately the T has contracted the Costello Dismantling to Scrap them, basically those will get towed from Codman Yard to Cabot Yard then taken by Flatbed Trucks. If you want to check them out before being Scrapped. Exit Ashmont Station walk south of Dorchester Avenue, turn left on Gallivan BLVD, walk a little then look right and you will see them sitting their up close. This is your chance they will be Scrapped very very soon.

So the T still has these in property as of March 2024. 48 are left. All these are functional and operatable. So basically the T uses the 01200s for training new motormem. The 01200s get frequently moved around Wellington. These can also be seen driving on the test track. 01264/01265 01278/01279 operated on its own power, destination signs turned on and was on the Orange Line test track.

The T just updated NE Transit. All 160 New Flyer XDE40'S 3200-3359 are all active. 100 at Albany and 60 at Lynn. The T still has 5 2006 New Flyer D40LF's: 0608 0610 0616 0640 0651 active. The T transfered 20 2014-2015 New Flyer XDE40'S to Fellsway. Also 21 2008 New Flyer D40LF's got transfered to Southampton Street Garage to run on routes 16 28 & 39 during Rush Hour and Night. Apparently the T inserted a new section under Vehicle Roster which are the 2024-2026 New Flyer XE40: 3400-3479 (80), which enter service to replace half of the 2008 New Flyer D40LF's. The first buss should arrive in a month or so. The T will also purchase 50 Double Side Door buss in 2025 XE40: 4200-4249 for North Cambridge Carhouse to do boarding at lower level for routes 71 & 73 which will also replace some 2008 New Flyers in 2025. The T will finally purchase some XDE40'S around 2026-2027 which will fully replace all 2008 New Flyer D40LF's in the next three years, multiple 2008s will be retired this year by couple XE40's. The T may also purchase 30 XE60'S 1500-1529 to replace all DE60LFR'S by 2027.

As of only 8 2006 New Flyer D40LFs are left in service: 0608 0610 0616 0630 0640 0651 0675 0696. Fellsway Garage has 8 2006-2007 New Flyer D40LF's, 46 2008 Nee Flyer D40LF's, and 6 2014-2015 New Flyer XDE40'S. Southampton Street Garage has 19 2008 New Flyer D40LF's for routes 16 28 and 39.

I'm noticing now on almost every 1800 train in 2024, the operators make the announcements manually with the chime at 1:42. Does anyone know about this?

Right now D40LF's from Fellsway Garage and D40LF's from Albany Street Garage on Winter Contingency are running on Routes 28 and 39 this current moment. Even some 3200s from Albany are also running on 28 and 39. The XDE60'S 1300s are also running on SL4 and SL5 today catch them if you can

The T is down to 9 active 2006 New Flyer D40LF's 0613 & 0711 are being Preserved. Lynn has no 2008s D40LF's. Alba Albany has 13 2008 D40LF's for Winter Contingency. Wellington now has 48 Hawker Siddeley 01200s and 106 CRRCS. The T has 14 CRRC 1900s active on Red.

I want to like it, but the design bothers me. If it's high capacity, add more overhead railing in the middle of the car for standing people to hold onto 🤦‍♀Just my two cents.

always nostalgic hearing "the destination of this train is.." and the muffled "change here for the silver line" - by far the best one

well this only works on 3871 if it's the lead car of a trainset since the lead car determines the announcements for all the cars in a trainset according to someone.

Car 3689 as of December 11, 2023 has been upgraded to the new LED displays - they no longer have the older destination displays.

I lot of things happened, I do realize you make have college in all that. The T is down to 19 active 2006 D40LF's. In Fellsway. All 160 XDE40'S have been delivered. Everett Yard is cleared up except for 0711. For some reason 0653 is at Albany Garage. New CRRCs have been delivered 1500/1501 are on testing including 1912/1913. The 01200s from Forest Hills Layover have all been placed at Wellington. You will see more 1200s at Wellington then before, four of them are graffitied. it's always so cool to see buses from other states come through and help out with the shuttles to get to know other companies that are out there i'm all for it. those drivers must be paid well i bet and annett bus lines i've seen them a lot on these shuttles ever since the orange line shuttles nice video though all these buses look awesome and that dude at 0:28 that was a little weird but overall sweet video
